Kim entered the Great Hall shortly before 1PM. It was as expected nearly empty, of course with most the school gone on the trip she didn't really expect to see anyone. She'd been in the most foul mood for quite some time now and it was entirely one person's fault. Stupid know it all girl who thinks she can stupid save the stupid world from every stupid evil person. Sitting down at the end of the Hufflepuff table, closest to the door she grabbed a plate and slammed it down on the hard table. A few students turned to look at her but Kim glared back at them and thus they left her alone. She didn't have to many friends left around here either.
As she began to slam food down onto her plate she felt someone sit down next to her and knew it had to be Valerie, the only other Hufflepuff that didn't go on the trip. "I hate her so much, stupid show off, I can't wait for someone to teach her a lesson" Kim said as she dropped a spoon onto the floor and then kicked it further down the table in anger.

Valerie bolted out of the common room after Kim. Despite being nearly a foot taller than the little one, Valerie found it quite a task to keep up with Kim as she stormed off to the Great Hall. If this was how it was going to be all Spring Break, Valerie was having serious thoughts about sending an Owl to ask her parents to come home for the rest of the break.
That of course was out of the question though. She simply couldn't leave Kim alone in the Hufflepuff common room, there was just no telling what she would end up doing by herself. In addition Valerie felt it was her duty to watch after Kim. She was a member of the Hufflepuff team, and Valerie as the captain was responsible for her players. More so was the fact that Kim's older brother had been one of Valerie's best friends, and she had looked at Kim like a younger sister. Perhaps she'd invite Kim to come with her home, that would surely get her mind off of things for a bit at least.
When she reached the Great Hall she slumped into the seat next to Kim and watched her angrily attack the food. Nodding slightly Valerie bit her lip as she got her own plate, she certainly hoped that all the Gryffindors stayed out of the Great Hall for the next 20 minutes. She didn't want to see what Kim would do if she saw one.

Hermione had spent the entire day in the Gryffindor common room, Professor Dumbledore thought it best that they not return to their homes during the break and they were also prohibited from going to Hogsmeade. Hermione sat curled up in a chair alone, Harry and Ron were off about the castle, they had let her alone knowing that she was still dealing with Brian’s loss. Hermione had come up with a plan, she was going to find Voldemort and his crones and make them pay for Brian’s death, she hated them all, she hated them more than she had ever thought herself capable.
She had been in the common room for a very long time, she hadn’t eaten for the day, all she had done was think of Brian, of her sweet Brian who had cared so much about her that he had given his life. She thought about her revenge watching the one responsible pay for what he had done, and she would see to that he did pay. Hermione’s resolve was resolute, there was no swaying her iron will, not on this matter, Harry had tried but it had not worked, she would put her plan into action. She rose from her seat her eyes only leaving the window when she turned and walked to the porthole and left the room. Hermione walked away from the picture of the Fat Lady, who called her name softly, but she did not look back, her thoughts were on one thing and one thing only, a fire burned in her eyes.
Hermione walked down to the Great Hall, she passed maybe on person on her way, a girl who gave her a sad look, but she didn’t look back at her and just kept going. It was after one in the evening, some of the school, those that were left were having lunch, she walked into the Great Hall. Hermione did not look at a soul as she entered, she knew she was getting looks from people but she had not time for them now, she had more important things on her mind. She took a seat at the Gryffindor table, she sat there in silence for the next few minutes, until her thought were interrupted.

Valerie remained seated at the Hufflepuff table eating in total silence. Kim's anger seemed to actually grow as they had come here. The food itself was quite good, the house elves having to cook for so few had put a lot more flavor into everything turning the meals during spring break into feasts.
Looking from the table a few others had wandered in, the same that had been here all week. Then one came in whom Valerie hoped wouldn't. Fidgeting with her fork Valerie looked down then out the doorway. She had to find some reason to get Kim out of here now before something happened. "It smells in here..." Valerie muttered "Lets go outside" she said as she flung her bag over her shoulder and grabbed her plate and cup. "Come on Kim.." she said urging the younger girl to follow her out the doorway.

Kim couldn't eat the disgusting food that sat in front of her, instead she shoved it away and just drank pumpkin juice. Looking across the table she saw Valerie staring behind her then suddenly get up and suggest they go outside. Shrugging, Kim stood up and grabbed her own bag and got up from the bench. As she followed Valerie to the door she turned back to the hall and saw someone walked to the Gryffindor table.
Staring at the person Kim at once realized who it was. Quickly Kim set down her bag and opened it up and grabbed two books that belonged to Hermione. After she was taken to the ministry that night she never returned to get her things and Kim had them. Not really sure what to do with her junk, Kim had left it laying about here and there and had promised to give some to some Slytherins who were interested.
Carrying the two books, Kim walked over to the Gryffindor table and soon was standing next to Hermione. Glaring at her, Kim threw the first book at Hermione "You left your crap in MY house" she said glaring at her. She then took the second book and slammed down on the table. "So I suppose now you'll just run off back to old Viktor Krum won't you?" she said as she stared with pure hatred at Hermione. Her fists clenched tightly and the vein in the side of her neck began to twitch as she waited for Hermione to say something, anything stupid so Kim could pounce and beat her. Perhaps even with her own book, Kim thought as she eyed the book with cruel thoughts.

Hermione the shrill voice and felt as a book struck her hard against the arm, she looked up a glare on her face, she was in a bad enough mood and was not going to put up with anyone when she realised who it was. Hermione stared at Kim as she railed on her, she even brought up Viktor, the look of hatred on her face. Hermione knew that this would come, and she deserved it she knew, it was her fault that Brian had died.
Hermione looked at Kim with a soft face, she would let her have her go at her, she didn’t care, but she would make up for it one day, she would get Brian’s killer and see him pay for what he had done. Kim’s words hurt, but Hermione still said nothing, she took up her books and placed them neatly beside her, but then decided on something else. She stood and faced Kim, she was taller than her, “Go ahead Kim. Go ahead, I deserve it. I don’t mind if you hate me, I hate myself. It was my fault that Brian died, so go ahead. Do what you want.” Hermione couldn’t argue with Kim, she didn’t have it in her, and perhaps it would help Kim grieve by getting her feelings towards her out.
She looked down at her, a tear spilling down her cheek, she wiped it away and stared at her, the hatred on Kim’s face was unmistakable. Hermione looked at the others who were in the Great Hall, they were all looking at her and Kim, “Having a good look all of you? Huh? Like what you see?” she didn’t want to be here, why had some come down from the common room? She hated their looks, their stares; she was so filled with anger and pain that at that moment, she could have done anything. Hermione flung the dishes on the floor, “Are you ready? Start.” She said looking at Kim.

Kim didn't hear a word that Hermione said. Glaring at her she watched her stand up then throw her dishes onto the floor. "you ready?" Kim faintly heard the words as Hermione's lips moved and the words echoed in her head. Kim didn't need to be told twice though, she had been waiting for this moment for several days and now she finally had it. There was nothing better she wished to do now than grab Hermione by the throat and choke her until her head popped off.
With both her fists clenched, Kim took a few quick steps towards Hermione then lunged herself towards her with one hand swinging back preparing to punch Hermione right across the face. Kim was unable to follow up though as her swing missed Hermione's face by a few inches. Kim also felt herself be yanked upwards and then thumped back down onto the coble stones on the Great Hall's floor. Struggling to get at Hermione, Kim felt herself being tugged backwards by someone. "LET GO!!!!" she screamed as she swung her hands wildly trying to get at both Hermione and her attacker.
Despite her struggle, Kim was unable to escape the person who was dragging her farther and farther from her target. "I'LL KILL YOU HERMIONE! JUST YOU WAIT!!!" She screamed as she was dragged towards the door.

Valerie made it to the large doorway before she turned around to find Kim. Alas, Kim was not behind her as she had hoped. Instead Kim had gone straight over to the Gryffindor table and was heading right for Hermione. Setting her plates down, Valerie quickly ran over to the Gryffindor table but Kim was already at Hermione and had thrown a book at her and they were now standing face to face. Closing in on the pair, Valerie watched as Hermione smashed a plate on the floor, this was definitely not going well, far worse than Valerie had even imagined it might get.
She was now only a few feet away as she drew her wand from her pocket just as Kim began to take a swing at Hermione. Aiming her wand at Kim, Valerie shouted “Impedimenta!” The pinkish light hit Kim in the back, slowing her swing down that narrowly missed Hermione. Valerie then grabbed Kim by the back of her collar and forcibly lifted the little girl up off her feet and began to drag her out of the Great Hall. “Stop Kim!” Valerie said as she easily dodged Kim’s flails but couldn’t help but take a few good kicks to her shins as Kim was kicking every which way.
Soon Valerie had Kim out into the main corridor and she kicked the door shut with her foot before she finally let go of the struggling Kim. “KIM!” Valerie exclaimed as she looked at the little girl who had anger all over her face. “That will NOT help Kim! You know that! We need to get out of here before you get into some serious trouble!”

Hermione watched Kim approach her, she didn’t care what she did, if it made her feel better to hit her then let her do it, but Hermione knew one day she would make all of this up to Kim and her family…she swore it on her own life. Kim lunged at Hermione, she did move as she saw her come at her, a few gasps went up from those gathered in the Great Hall, but Hermione didn’t hear them, she just looked at the anger in Kim’s face, the hate. Kim took a swing at her but missed to Hermione’s surprise, she had not moved but someone had stopped Kim. Kim screamed that she would kill her, she just wanted to get her, as much as it hurt to hear the words, Hermione understood. Kim had adored Brian, he was her whole world and because of Hermione he was gone.
Hermione looked passed Kim and saw Valerie Rice pulling her away towards the hall doors, Valerie whisked Kim out and left Hermione standing in the hall being stared at by everyone. She looked around her, picked up her books and ran for the door the teachers used to go in and out. Hermione took her things and made her way to Hagrid’s hut, but she didn’t knock, she went behind the little shack and took a seat on a pile of logs he had there. She sat staring for sometime not knowing what to do with herself.
