In the Ravenclaw dormitories Jaquin sat, waiting for an insperation to hit him. Ever since he began taking Divinitation and History of Magic Classes, it was a tedious job to keep up with the monotone workload. Care of Magical Creatures and Transfiguration were the only classes that seemed intriguing enough for his taste. Sunlight flooded in as he sat on his four poster bed in his apathetic mood. The sky was an amalgam of blue, red, yellow, and orange, as the sun began to set. After approximately half and hour of contemplation, Jaquin got up and retrieved an antediluvian book from his bedside cabinet. The leather cover was torn, and a certain propogation of mold could be seen clearly on the cover. But, when he opened the book up, the pages and inner coverings looked as if it were brand new. It was titled Magibiology: A study of Modern Theory and Hidden Explanations. This compelling book absorbed his attention for another 30 minutes as he sat there engrossed in the explanations that he had already known for a long time. One of the chapters was named "To Be or Not to Be", which was a topic he liked to think about; there were multifarious ways of interpretation on that subject.
When he arrived in the common room with his bulgin bag of books, he plopped down on an armchair. Looking around, he saw that the room was deserted. But, after a few moments it would no longer be that way; Jaquin heard footsteps of a fellow Ravenclaw near his chair........

Celina was walking up to the common room after a walk in the Hogwarts grounds. The evening sun flooded in through the high windows of the hallways. The sun was beginning to set, its rays were diminishing as it slowly disappeared behind the far-off mountains.
"Hedwig," she chanted before entering the common room. She walked in and went straight to her usual couch by the window. She was about to close her eyes for a nap when she noticed a fellow Ravenclaw sitting nearby. "Why, hello there," she exclaimed. "What are you doing?" she proceeded to ask.

"Huh? What? Oh, hi! Nice to meet you.... Um.... whas your name again?" inquired Jaquin groggily. "Oh, yeah! Hi, Celina!" Jaquin finally awoke from his half slumber, and shuffled around putting away his books. He remembered the pretty Ravenclaw girl by name, because Jaquin knew that she was a good student, and he noted all good students whenever he came across one. Not only this, but he played with her on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. Jaquin heard Celina ask what he was doing and he answered, "Oh, um, I'm just reviewing this advanced magibiology book for Care of Magical creatures....." For a moment he paused, then he asked the same thing, "What are you doing?"

Celina smiled as she saw Jaquin answer her drowsily. She had seen him in classes and during Quidditch practice but they had never really spoken much to each other before. She listened to him as he answered her question. "Nothing really. I just came back from a walk and thought I'd have a nap here. It has been a really tiring day, don't you think so?" It was probably Divination, she thought to herself. " Do you take Divination?" she asked.

"Yeah, I am taking Divinitation... I think I got a T, you know, stands for Troll. I'm failing the class and I don't give a d***. I don't know, my best clas is Care of Magical Creatures, whats yours?" asked Jaquin.

"I'm not really into Care of Magical Creatures. Some of the creatures Hagrid gets are simply odd. My favourite classes are Transfiguration and Defence Against the Dark Arts. Those are my two best subjects," replied Celina. "Tell me a little about yourself. What kind of a background do you have and where do you live?" asked Celina, curious to get to know Jaquin. He somehow seemed rather interesting.

"Ah, well, my heritage is Russian-German and I live in Manchester. I don't know, but I'm really interested in Magi-biology, and muggle biology. Thats why my best two classes including Care of Magical Creatures are CMC and Herbology," answered Jaquin. "What about you?" he asked Celina. She seemed to have some similar qualities as he did being one of the top students of their years and everything.... but, then again, most Ravenclaws seemed to occupy the top student ranks.

Celina listened in interest as Jaquin told her about himself. "I live in London. I have one younger sister. Her name's Melissa and she's 11. My father's Irish and my mother's Indian. I speak seven different languages," she said, looking out the window as she saw lightning strike and thunder roll in. "It's going to rain," she said as she looked back at Jaquin.

"Really? Well, I read, write, and speak 8 languages (look at his bio for which ones). Yeah, I think it is," concured Jaquin when Celina made her statement. As he watched the billowing gray clouds move overhead, he turned his head and inquired, "What do you think about the coming Hogwarts vs. Durmstrang game? I think that I might play as beater. How about you?"

(( Sorry....I had been away))
"Eight languages? Wow, and I thought seven was an accomplishment in itself," said Celina staring at Jaquin with new-found respect. "About the game, I've just been put into the starting line-up as chaser. I'm really looking forward to the match and to going to Sweden," she said, the excitement showing through her eyes. "So, are you going to be playing as beater?" she asked.

"Don't be so sure! The diversity of the languages is what really tells you that you have accomplished a lot! I'm sure you'll perform exceptionally well as chaser! It will be a great experience playing in a school game. Perseus and I have been practicing together, because we expect to be playing together, and the defense and offensive talents will come in handy. I'm the major offensive beater while he will be the defense," answered Jaquin as he leaned back on the couch. "So, what do you think about the recent attacks on the Granger girl?"

"That's true," said Celina, nodding her head. "How did you come to learn all these languages anyway? Did your family travel a lot?" she asked.
As Jaquin mentioned the attacks, Celina's eyes darkened. "The whole incident was terrible. I'm glad she made it through," she replied, looking down at her palms before lifting her head and continuing, "It's really sad about the Sullivan boy though." Leaning closer, she looked around before whispering, "I think someone from Hogwarts may have had something to do with this. I happened to hear a conversation." She leaned back slightly, as her eyes filled with a grey, mysterious look.

"Well most of the languages that I learned are closely related to German or Rnglish, but, the Mandarin, Arabian, and those Asian languages took me a while. Starting at a young age is always helpful. I started Mandarin when I was 5, so, by my 3rd year here, I had mastered most of it. There are actually 80,000 'characters', but I like to call them words, in mandarin, but only 5,000 commonly used. I know about 5,100 or more. All of this took years of study, so, don't be that impressed," replied Jaquin with a grin.
When Celina answered about the attacks on Hermione, Jaquin nodded in concurrence. After Celina mentioned a conversation between a group of people, Jaquin inquired, "I don't think it has to do with Malfoy, do you? I mean, his father was taken into Azkaban for Death Eater related events. Might it be one of those evil Slytherin girls like Hendrix? I heard from Perseus that those girls are evil down to the quark (smallest particle found so far)!"

"I actually doubt Hendrix had much to do with it. I saw her constantly sneezing in the Great Hall the day before the incident. She seemed too sick to have perpetrated that." Putting her left palm below her chin, she continued in a whisper, "I was outside the Potions class the morning of the incident when I overheard a conversation between Draco, Crabbe and Goyle. I had gone back to collect some notes I thought I had left behind and they were unaware of my presence. I heard them mention something about 'getting killed' and 'the end of that buck-toothed mudblood'. Then a bunch of Hufflepuff girls came running around the corner and they changed the topic." Shrugging Celina continued, "Of course they probably didn't, or rather couldn't, do it themselves but they clearly knew about it. I wonder how....". Her voice trailed off.

"Perhaps it was Goyle's or Crabbe's father who did the attacking, since Lucius Malfoy knows that if he attacks somone again, the ministry would no exactly who it was. So, perhaps he ordered them to attack Hermione," said Jaquin in a whisper.

"Perhaps," said Celina, contemplating it, "But I doubt it. Crabbe and Goyle look like a bunch of useless sidekicks to me and I doubt their fathers are very different." Leaning back, she went on in a normal tone,"Well I'd better get going now. I've got a lot of homework to do and you know how angry Snape gets when you don't do his assignments".
((Hey, I think we should end it here since it's been going on for quite a while now.))

((Sure )) "See you around, then!" said Jaquin with a smile. He pulled his bags up from the couch and headed up the spiral stairs back into his dorm, set his books down and began to do his homework, while in deep contemplation.
