Welcome to your second main challenge. You will be playing for house points and the exemption. If you hadn't guessed from the title, we are going to play my little rendition of Quidditch. Here are the rules:
1. There are 200 'wooden crates' laid out on the Quidditch field. Each crate is numbered, 1-200. There are 5 possible things that you might find under each crate:
A. The Golden Snitch!- Find this, and you earn 150 points for your team, and the game ends when this is found
B. Quaffle- There are 134 crates that have quaffles under them. Find one of these, and you simply earn your team 10 points.
C. Bludger- There are 21 crates with bludgers under them. Find one of these, and you lose 10 points from your team's total. (You cannot lose points if you have 0)
D. Beater's Bat- There are 22 crates with beater's bats under them. Find one of these, and you can chose another team to take 10 points from (remember, you can't take points from a team with 0 points.
E. Keeper's Gloves- there are 22 crates with keeper's gloves under them. Find one of these, and you can chose to take 30 points from any one team, or a combination of teams. You must take in increments of 10 though. (can't take from a team with 0 points.)
2. To turn over a crate, simply post the number of the crate that you want to turn over. Once a crate has been turned over, it stays turned over, and cannot be turned over again.
3. Once you turn over a crate, you cannot turn over another crate until 2 hours have elapsed. I will be checking in as often as I can to let you know what was under the crate that you turned over. If you turn over a crate, and 2 hours passes, you may turn over another, even if I have not posted what was in the first. The crates are on a first come, first serve basis. If 2 people go to turn over the same crate, whoever posted first will get it, so the 2nd person should edit their post if they want to get a crate that is not taken.
4. You MUST indicate with EACH post which team you would like to take 10 points from if you uncover a beater's bat. Also, you MUST indicate in EACH post which team or combination of teams you would take 30 points from in case you uncover keeper's gloves. EVEN if all teams are at 0 points, indicate which teams anyways. If you uncover a beater's bat, and the team you wanted to take 10 points from has 0, then nothing happens.
5. IF YOU POST MORE THAN ONCE WITHIN 2 HOURS, YOU LOSE 50!!! POINTS FOR YOUR HOUSE- DIRECTLY FROM YOUR HOUSE TOTAL! SO DON'T DO IT! IF YOU DO ACCIDENTALLY, THEN DELETE IT!
6. When the snitch is uncovered, the game ends IMMEDIATELY! The socred will be tallied, and the team with the most points wins the EXEMPTION for the round. All teams get to keep whatever points they have at this part of the game and they will be added to their house total.
7. In the case of a tie, the team that caught the snitch wins NO MATTER WHAT! Even if they were the lowest scoring team (although I doubt it).
8. Any questions, ASK ASK ASK before doing something wrong. I will be patient though, as the rules are somewhat complicated. I hope you all get the hang of it and have fun.
Players, mount your brooms.... *tweeet!* The game is on! (Anyone may take crates now, but remember the 2 hour rule!)
