Post by Professor Sandra Tyler on Dec 3, 2006 15:08:54 GMT
((This class is opened to all 1-7 years in any house. Please remember to look at the NEW Ancient Rune site here.)) Sandra woke bright an early on a December morning as always. Her class would start right after Breakfast and she had to have some time to organize the room. So, she ate a quick breakfast that morning, filled a mug with coffee, than left the great hall toward into her classroom. Her long brown hair laid in natural curls to her shoulders, bouncing as she headed down he long corridor. A Daily Prophet was tucked under her arm which was given to her by another professor walking by. Once she reached he classroom, Sandra took a seat down in the cushioned chair by her desk. Unfolding the paper from under her arm Sandra set it down on the oak table while taking a sip of the warm coffee. The warm drink brought a smile to her face as she began to read an article on Gringotts Bank. There would only be a couple more weeks left of school before the students were released for Holiday break. Sandra was going to enjoy that time spent with her sister and niece Allie. Ancient Runes was located on the second floor across from Charms and next to Arithmancy classrooms. The three classroom were placed by the main corridor, which could get quite noisy at times. Luckily, the walls were charmed so no noise could be heard causing a distraction. The entire classroom was carpeted with a soft white carpet and on top of the carpet was eighteen large, round school desks with four chairs to a each one. There was always a huge file cabinet in the corner of the room that held all the supplies that were needed for that day. With a flick of Sandra's wand, the doors opened and bags of runes began to fly and land on each desk. Sandra than flicked her wand again, the large curtains to the window opening and bringing light into the room. Normally it was cranked open a bit, but today was too cold for that. Taking the last of coffee Sandra set the mug back down on the table. She folded up the newspaper neatly, setting it back down on the table. Making a mental note to finish reading it, she headed toward each table making sure that all the runes were there. There had been times in class where a student couldn't participate in the activity planned because they didn't have the right runes. Happy that every was were it needed to be, Sandra than flicked her wand again dozens of candles landed on the large table in the front of the room. The candles were the main key point today in the lesson planned. Sandra than made her way to the chalk board, picking up a piece of chalk to write down instructions. She hated the sound the chalk made on the board, but put up with it anyway. - Take a seat and make sure you are seated before class starts.
- Do NOT touch the ruins or get a candle from the table.
- Take out your Spellman's Syllabary opening it up to page 10.
- Remember to put away your wands. I do not want to see them.
Setting the chalk back down, Sandra rubbed her white hands on a towel nearby while making her way toward the desk. Taking a seat down on the hair, she opened up her notebook toward the lesson plans that were planned for that day. She hoped that today's class was going to be rather interesting for the students. Sandra always liked to do something special when a holiday came up. She could see her seven year old niece right now dancing around the lightly lit living room, singing carols. Smiling at the memory she made a mental note to send an owl to her sister sometime. Sandra than opened the newspaper back up reading until the students arrived.

((Yeah, you have a student! I'm surry it's taken me a while to post in here...I've been pretty busy, but whatever...I'm here now Celia yawned herself awake, stretched, swung her feet over the side of her 4-poster, and placed her feet in her blue slippers. She rubbed her eyes, as she always did, and wandered into the bathroom to splash her face. This always woke her up, especially on days like this when she definately needed to be awake, in fear of dropping asleep in front of full classes of students. Then she noticed a chill in the air, so she went back to her bed, and got dressed. Nobody else was up yet, as per usual. Despite getting little sleep, Celia often found her self awake at 7 am, and could never get back to sleep, so recently it had become a custom to just get up there and then, cutting out the hassle of staying in bed, then losing track of time and being late. So she wrapped her cloak around her shoulders, and went to get some breakfast. After a hearty meal, of toast, sausages, egg and beans, she wracked her brains as to think of what her first lesson was. It happened to be Ancient Runes-one of her favourites, so she went back to her dorm, packed her books, remembering to leave her wand behind. She hid it in a place where nobody else knew, so as to make sure she knew where it was when she came back later. By this time it was still only 8am-another 1/2 hour or so before she needed to go, so she sat down, wondering what todays lessons would bring, and making sure she'd done all of her homework. When the time came, she wandered down to the 2nd flood where the Runes classroom was. She loved that room-very plain and minimalist, just like she would have it if she were a teacher. She walked in, to find Professor Tyler sitting at the front reading a newspaper, whom she greeted with a cheery "Hello, Professor" and things written on the board behind her. She obeyed the instructions, sitting down at a table near the front, getting her textbook out and not touching the runes at all, waiting for other students to arrive. She was, as usual, the first one there, and hoped that someone she knew would turn up soon.

Post by Charisma Turner G3 on Jan 7, 2007 20:01:30 GMT
Charisma was in the middle of a horrible nightmare, about her mother's death-again. She hated this dream in particular, because she knew that it wasn't just a dream...it had all happened. Suddenly, when the fire was about to really take it's affect on her mother's work building, Charisma felt a pecking at her hand, which was dangling off of her bed. Buttercup had always saved her from the worst part. It was like she knew what was going on in her owner's head.
Charisma woke with a start. She glanced at the clock that hung in the dorm room. It read 8:15. Charisma's first class of the day started in less than fifteen minutes! She jumped out of her bed, washed her face, brushed her teeth, and put on her robes as fast as she could, hoping she hadn't forgotten anything. She rushed out of the common room and down the stairs to the second floor corridor.
Charisma was right in front of the door when she noticed she had forgotten to put on her shoes! She couldn't go back for them now! She had less than a minute before class started! Hoping nobody would notice her bare feet, Charisma walked into the classroom and got into her seat with almost ten seconds to spare. She took out her textbook, thankful that she hadn't forgotten that too, and opened it to page ten.

Harmony sighed. For probably about the hundredth time that week. She seemed to be sighing a lot recently. However, she was rather annoyed. After all, she had barely any lessons with any of her friends, and since she was such a shy person, she never made any more in the classes she attended. She didn’t mind that much being on her own, because she wasn’t that dependent on others, but it was nice to be accompanied to a class with a friend and have a bit of a giggle about the lesson. She missed some of that a lot, really.
Casting her troubles aside and breathing in deeply, Harmony mentally scolded herself for having such negative thoughts, and found herself outside the Ancient Runes classroom already, her first lesson of the day. Being one of her favourite lessons, and liking Professor Tyler a lot, Harmony was contented, although the insecure feeling of not having her trusty wand on her never left, as she had deposited it purposefully in her dormitory. Opening the door to the classroom, Harmony sidled in with a large smile, and murmured a soft “Good morning, Professor Tyler” to the teacher, who was waiting, reading the Daily Prophet. She noticed two other students were already there, seated and waiting for the rest of the class to arrive. She placed herself a few desks behind the oldest girl near the front. Much too shy to try and approach them, Harmony resigned herself to spending another lesson alone, and quickly got out her books.
Seeing the instructions from the professor written on the board, Harmony was careful not to touch anything and took out her Spellman's Syllabary textbook at page ten. Finally ready, she made herself comfortable and waited for the rest of the class to arrive.

Her face red and blotchy. Her skin a pale yellow. And her face a bit sunk in from not eating very much Morgan looked at herself in the mirror. This was all Blake's fault. That was who she blamed it on. It was like her whole world had collapsed. No Blake, that equals no life. At least that was how she had felt until just now. She thought about how she did have friends here. Friends who cared more than he had and she thought about how she had more luck with people like herself anyway. Turning her head she saw her room mates beds empty. Morgan had missed class for two days because of her feeling. She figured she needed to go today. Though she thought that having classes with first years was idiotic she headed toward the showeres, eager to be clean. ~ After a twenty minute shower her face was no longer red and blotchy and even though every thing else was the same she felt better now that her hair didn't way two million pounds because of the sweat that had been in it from her being so hott with a fever she had just gotten over.
She changed quickly into school robes and looked as her wet hair clung to her cheeks and her used to be electric blue eyes were now faded and calm in their sockets. She looked completely different. Feeling the loseness of her clothes she used her wand to hem them a bit. With another few waves when she looked again in the mirror where her horrible image had been minutes ago she now saw eyes lined in black eye liner, dry and straight hair, red tips, and brushed teeth.
Without thinking anymore she slipped on her shoes and threw on her coat and her school bag onto her shoulder and then headed out the door, feeling glances and stares on her back from the people who hadn't seen her out of her room in four days. She turned down the halls and went up and down stairs and then finally reached the Ancient Runes Room and grimaced at the words on the board. She sat down at a seat in the far back and then did as the board told and waited for the class to begin and then hopefully end even quicker.

Anishi walked the great halls as she sighed in frustration. Everything was so new to her, and accepting what she usually heard in fairytales or fantasy manga books almost made her feel ridiculous. Not to offend the citizens of this magical, yet wonderful country she never knew existed. Being a "freshmen" in a wizarding school was a lot for her to get used to. She found out months ago that the laptop computer her warlock father gave her before school started, didn't work in the wizarding world. The laptop turned on, but the screen was blank. The strange folding device attracted many of the non-muggle oriented students in her common room, but still, IT DIDN'T WORK! Well, even if it did, it wouldn't last anyways, because there was no electronic plugs to be found! One student who was of muggle orientation told her that technologies in this world don't work because of the interference of magic...
"So paper and pencil, here I come!"
Or rather; quill and parchment, just to be on the topic...I thought quietly as I give a small smile to myself.
I finally arrive at the doorstep of my classroom; Ancient Runes. Anishi, though only 10 years old, has read a few books about strange symbologies and runes that either related spiritually or religiously. But magic-wise, well, sounds almost intriguing to her.
She looks around before finding a seat. Not very many students around.
"At least I'm early." Anishi said to herself quietly.
Before finding sitting down in the center area of the classroom she looked up at the board. The directions where straight foward and understandable. She takes out her book while cautiously keeping her wand hidden in her knapp sack. Anishi waits patiently as she turns to page 10.

[shadow=red,left,300]"ASH! ASH! ASH! NOOOOOOO, NO ASH, NO NO, COME HERE!" It was Medeia she was in trouble! Ash had to get to her! "MEDEIA, I'M COMING! DON'T WORRY, NOOOOOO, NOOOOOOOOOOO, MEDEIA," her voice withered, "please?" Medeia was falling NO! She was falling into the "web" of the black house, she could stop them! happy now she called, "NO! Keetron, Keetron no, not Medeia," "yessssssss" hissed Keetron turning into a snake although it didn't fit his personality, "she goesssssssssss" "NOOOOOOO" Ash screamed, happiness quickly turning into panic and despair, "you go toooooooo."[/shadow]
Ashakiran Gandhi woke up drenched in sweat, terror and panic overcoming her before slowly lessening. She'd had that nightmare four times lately and sometimes it worried her, she was no seer but what if it meant something? What then?
Ash dressed in her black robes with silver lining and a Slytherin crest, Ancient Runes was soon, and she couldn't miss it. She liked it so it wasn't much of a bother having to get up, RIGHT NOW!
As she rushed along somehow managing to seem calm and sneering even as she rushed along smirking at everyone. Entering the class Ashakiran walked along, coolly looking at who was there. She looked at the other side of the room at Professor Tyler, "morning professor" she said a bit sarcastically cheerful, she felt like she was trying to communicate, "I'm here for the lesson, not to try and chat and be all Puffy." "Puffy" was her "version" of Hufflepuff. She sat down glaring at everyone besides the nonexistent Slytherins. And extra at the Hufflepuffs. Like at Harmony Chan. She wished she could sneer at Chan, she (Chan) deserved it. Idiotic Hufflepuffs.
