Williard stared at his own glowing rock. It was wonderful. Collucos was definantly a Charm he would find himself doing whenever possible, just because it was cool. Williard was definantly proud. He watched as Professor Flitwick walked around the room and handed out points to some students. Then, he informed the class that we would be attempting to do the spell in the dark. Aimee Sinclair, a Slytherin third year, was to go first, and then Timothy Bancroft, also in her house and year, and then Jake Naito, in Gryffindor, but in his third year as well. Williard couldn't wait until it was his turn. He anxiously awaited to see how this, Aimee, would do.

Aimee was stunned when she heard what the professor had to say. How was she supposed to form Collucos in the dark? Wasn't the key to correctly performing the spell to be able to point at the exact thing you were trying to light up? Aimee gave the professor a confused stare but didn't have much time to react, for he had already shut off all the lights. It was pitch black and Aimee could barely see a thing. Aimee looked down at where her desk was supposed to be and tried to place where her rock was just moments ago. She extended her hand to pick up the rock, and was relievde when she felt the rough surface of the rock in her hand. She pointed her wand at the center of the rock and pronounced the word collucos perfectly. Even though the light wasn't as bright as it was before, it still lit up the small area around the rock, illuminating Aimee's proud face. She smiled, waiting to see her professor's reaction.

Timothy watched as Flitwick turned all the lights off. Timothy didn't like the dark that much but there was nothing he could do. Timothy tried to search the darkend room to figure out where Aimee was. When Timothy saw a dim light start to glow at the corner of his eye he knew it was her. She was to go first, Timothy thought she did well, although it wasn't that bright. Timothy gave her props for trying in pitch black darkness. Timothy kne wit was his turn so he got a head start on finding where his rock was. Timothy closed his eyes and visualized his desk and where his rock was. Timothy was very good about remebering these things this way. Timothy then opened his eyes looked at the desk in front of him, and he held his hand in front of him and went straight to where he thought his rock would be, Timothy was right about where it was. Timothy put the rock in his hand hand set it down where he could point and it would be perfect. Timothy then lifted his wand and placed it on the rock, slowly moving it away so he could get it right. Timothy then said, very clearly, and with some slight of being proud "CollUcos!" Timothy, again, did it perfectly. Timothys' rock glowed, it was lighting up almost half of the area he was in. Timothy thought the light was really bright almost too bright for him to look straight at it. Timothy put his wand down and smiled to where he remembered Aimee being, as if she could see him. Timothy then looked to where he had thought Flitwick was waiting for his response to the bright light that he had just produced on the rock.

Ary sat up straight throughout the lesson, listening intently. She shot Timothy a strict look from time to time and looked across at the blonde girl with equall distaste. Was that perhaps Sinclair, daughter of the famous Holly Sinclair? Arywiel pursed her lips and forced herself not to look at the Slytherin girl. Sinclair was a reporter of the vilest form. The woman clearly had a nasty streak, as did the daughter, by the looks of it. Ary leaned on one hand and distantly took in Flitwicks talk. The chatting continued at the back of the class, before Flitwick grew weary of it and told off the students talking. Arywiel continued to face the front, trying to take in as much as possible. At some point Williard, a Ravenclaw boy Ary hardly knew stood up and performed the "lumos" charm. The light sprouting from the first-year's wand wasn't all too bright, but he looked pleased, nonetheless. After awarded points, the boy took his seat once again, and continued to listen. Ary felt a rush of affection for the talented little boy. The class was set the task of performing the charm. Ary flicked her wand, performing a neat little light on the end of her wand. She watched Flitwick wander around the class, observing the attempts and giving points. The class sat down again and the professor went on about the collucos spell and its attributes. The lights went out suddenly, alarming Ary, as she had been listening only distractedly. She banged her knee against the table leg, causing her kneecap to throb painfully. She heard her rock wobble dangerously on the tabletop, and she reached out a hand for it. It was too dark to see anything, but she could hear the profesor's patient breathing and coughs and giggles from the class behind. Arywiel realised that they were all waiting for Sinclair to light up her rock. Ary rubbed her sore knee sulkily. Couldn't the girl get on with it?
There was a small peck of light, all of a sudden, coming from Sinclair's rock, Ary noticed. The light went out, and Timothy iluminated his. This time the speck of light was a little brighter, stinging the eyes after the accustomed gllom. Tim's proud face lit up for a moment, before the class was plunged into darkness once more.

Jake nodded at Tim's comment and said "Ya i know, i was just too cocky is all." and he smiled slightly, at least he had gotten Gryffindor some points. But a few things happened as the lights turned off all around the room. First, Jake noticed he didn't have a chance of passing the note, now that Tim wouldn't be able to read it and he silently cursed hisself for not taking the chance before. Secondly he lost sight of his rock, and quickly felt for it, accidentally sliding it off the desk and onto the floor. He ducked down under his desk and moved his hands around quickly, searching for the small green pebble that he had first used the spell on, and after he saw the slytherin girl's light start to glow on her rock he found it. He then quickly crawled back to his desk, siting back down, and placing the rock back on the desk, this time leaving his hand on it to make sure it didn't roll again. When he saw Tim's rock light up and fade away Jake raised his wand, this time ready for the spell. Jake lifted his hand from the rock and pointed his wand at where he had left it, and where he hoped it still was. He then focused for a second and said "CollUcos!" saying the spell as best he could remember from Flitwick's presentation. This time the green pebble glowed brightly, far brighter than it had the first time. Jake quickly said "Sweet!" and then turned to Tim, beaming widely at him. He then said to his friend quietly "how it that for better?" ((hope this is good enough))

Jake, a Gryffindor in Ary's year, had lit up his rock. The boy seemed to be on good, if not friendly terms with Timothy Brancroft, for some strange reason. The class was plunged into darkness once more and a few scuffles and thumps came from the desks of students, flaying around blindly for their rocks. Arywiel waited a moment, before pointing her wand at the patch of desk she was sure her rock was on. She gave the light wand a little flick and jab, saying "Collu- Collucos!" in an excited squeak. The rock lit up somewhat and faded back to black after a few moments of brightness. The class was once again emerged into darkness.

After watching Arywiel attempt the spell, Williard turned to his own rock, or well, where he thought his rock was. He couldn't see anything. He knew it was right in front of him, so he focused and pointed his wand. ''Collucos,'' he said very clearly and intently, once again putting emphasis on the ''U'' like Professor Flitwick instructed. His rock lit up at once, with a mighty glow, and Williard sat looking down at it, proud. This definantly made him feel better. If only the room could've been plunged into complete darkness when he did Lumos. He looked over at Skyler's face glowing in his rock light, and smiled.

Before he turned off the lights, he saw to some other students. Firstly came Williard Thoth, whom he had called upon earlier in the lesson. His rock was glowing magnificently, and Flitwick didn't hesitate to give him a further 10 points. Then came Arywiel Coone, who had lit up[ her rock successfully. "Yes, yes, very well done. 10 points to Gryffindor for that effort. keep up the good work."
Flitwick watched as the students in turn lit up their rocks, in the dark. It was not an easy task, but they took up the challenge well, even if their faces did look somewhat horrified when he told them to do it in the dark.
Aimee was the first to go. Again, she performed the spell perfectly, despite having to pick up the rock first. "Yes, well done once again Miss Sinclair. You will certainly be very useful, should you ever get stuck in a dark place. Hopefully you won't ever be in that situation, but still. Well done!"
Then it was Timothy's turn. Again, he performed the spell very well, and looked rather stunned by the bright glow. "Yes, excellent, well done. Much like Aimee, you have taken well to this charm-you're both doing your house proud. Well done!"
Jake Naito came next, and his rock glowed much better than the first time. "Yes, very well done this time Mr Naito. A great improvement. Hopefully you can keep up the good work and sustain your ability. Well done again!"
It was then Arywiel's turn again. Unfortunately, it wasn't so successful this time, however it did light up. "Yes, Miss Coone, a good attempt. You just need to improve your confidence for the next time we do something in the dark.
Williard had another attempt now, in the dark. Again, his rock glowed very well. "Yes, very good Mr Thoth, very good. You certainly have a talent for Charms, as do most of you. I expect great things from you in the future-don't let me down."
He then noticed the time. It was nearly the end of the lesson. "Right, children, it's time to go. Homework is to write about the uses and advantages of Lumos and Collucos. Due in for this time in 2 weesk, please. Points will not be deducted for late homework, but I will not be happy about any late homework, though one day late is somewhat acceptable. You may now leave. Thank you."
((The homework is due in before Midnight (GMT) on Thursday, january 31st 2008. Please PM it to Flitwick's account. Thank you all for attending the lesson. You may now RP your student leaving the lesson, if you wish. You may complete this homework even if you did not RP your student in class, as I'm sure some of you were too busy to post here.))
