It was a slow morning for Maryn. She hadn't gotten much sleep that night as she had too much sugar the previous day. Maryn sometimes used it just to stay awake as she often didn't have any other inspiration to. Maryn was often seen bouncing off the walls because of it, but her friends had learned to deal with it. Maryn pushed her pillow in front of her face as the sun blinked through her eyes. It was so bright Maryn hated even the thought of seeing it. She could tell her hair had to be nodded for rolling over her bed. She was so tired and didn't want to get up for anything. However, Maryn knew it was Monday and she would have classes in an hour of so. But, she still had a lot of time it seemed to sleep in. Maryn took advantage of this and gave a weak smile while going back into dream land.
Minutes later, Maryn heard the most obnoxious screeching ever. Maryn dropped out of her daze and sat straight up in her bed. She made a low whining sounds as she pulled her pink pajamas closer to her and marched to the window to check out the source of the sounds. Maryn's eyes traced upon her own owl, Morgen. She yawned opening the windowing and taking the letter from the bird Maryn then petted her head and watched her fly off. Her eyes looked upon the Daily Prophet. Maryn surely didn't apply for that stupid paper! Mom She thought to herself taking back to her bed. However she was up for good now and might as well get ready. This made Maryn a little sulky, but she did what she had to do.
There was still at least an hour or so before breakfast and Maryn was fully dressed. She had already taken a shower and washed out her long light brown hair. It dried with the touch of her wand as usual and Maryn smiled at the finished product. After that, she used her wand to apply the light pink shades of eye shadow and a bit of blush to give her a natural peach look. Maryn's hair was already straight so there was no need to fix that. She then pulled on her Gryffindor robes, squinted her eyes a bit, yawed and sat at the end of her bed. Maryn smiled at her dorm mates still asleep. She looked wearily looked at her watch. "Morning Sunshines!" She called loudly to them knowing the must get ready. Maryn watched her room mates stir.

Jessica woke up early Monday morning to the sound of her fellow roomie Maryn and nearly leaped out of bed. She was excited to start classes. She usually hated getting up on Monday's and for that matter hated going to Monday classes. Today though was different she had had a pretty boring weekend and was happy to finally have something to do. Thanks for the wake up call she said brightly. She skipped over to her dresser picked out a lime green top and a pair of light blue hip-huggers. Quickly running to the bathroom slipped out of her Pink stars and moon pajamas and changed into her clothes. Walking over to the since she saw that her hair today had a natural light curl to it at the ends. She brushed her teeth, washed her have and carefully combed her hair as though if she combed it to hard it would fall out. Now for my make-up Jessica thought happily. Since she was in such a good mood she decided to but on metallic silver eyeliner, brown mascara, and a little pale pink lip gloss. Satisfied with her reflection she skipped out of the bathroom and back into the dorm. After quickly making her bed and picking up her clothes she skipped down the stairs and into the common room.
She saw a couple people but not alot. Walking over and grabbing her book off one of the tables she sat down in a big red squishy chair next to the fire. After only a few minutes of reading though she was startled when all of a sudden something jumped on her lap she looked down from her book and saw her little kitten Smokey had jumped on her lap. Giggling slightly she put down her book and started playing with her little black and white kitten. Before she new it it people started sleepily walking into the common room and plopping themselves on the nearest chair. Sighing slightly she gently sat her kitten down and started packing up all her books. After she was all ready and packed she sat back down looking for somone to talk to.

It was a beautiful, sunny, breezy afternoon and palm trees were swaying gracefully in the wind. Golden sand grains covered the beaches. The salty scent of the ocean wafted through the air and the screeching of the seagulls--uh the screeching--wait, thats annoying...
Alarice slowly opened her eyes to the loud screeching sound and peered bleerily around her dorm room for the source of the noise, regrettfully leaving the peacefull dreamland by the beach she had been at the entire night. She rolled over in bed, squinting through the bright morning sunlight and located one of her roomates owl. Alarice shoved her head under her pillow to escape the noise, with just enough time to spot her friend Maryn hopping from bed to quiet the creature. There was silence a few more minutes then, in which Alarice took the time to mentally go over what her day would consist of. It was a Monday, and a busy one for her at that. She had classes of course, loads of homework she had conveniantly forgotton to do over the weekend, and that afternoon she would have to travel into Hogsmeade and buy Sephora her birthday present...Ugh. Typical Monday.
Alarice jolted as Maryn shouted for the rest of the girls to wake. "You know, it'd be nice if we could sleep in just this once." Alarice called across the room with a grin, taking her pillow and tossing it over at Maryn playfully. She could here the stirs and exhausted moans of the rest of her roommates as she hopped out of bed and hurried over to her dresser to get dressed. She grabbed her pleated skirt, her white shirt and her Gryffindor robes and tie, (standard uniform for classes,) and decided to brush through her straight, long aubrun hair infront of the mirror. The only makeup she applied was a bit of lipgloss, which was all she really ever wore. Alarice didnt need makeup most days, and she didnt like to wear it. I could do with a tan though. Al thought glumly, examining her pale face. She was indeed fair skinned, but she had light freckles on her nose and in the summer she aquired some on her cheeks and forehead.
"Maryn, wanna go and hang out in the common room for a bit before classes start?" Alarice asked her friend after she had finished getting ready. She walked over to the girl and waited for a reply.

Maryn giggled at Alarice's comment. "Oh, come on if you get up I'll give you a cookie." maryn joked as Alarice tossed a pillow at her. maryn dodged it playfully and threw it back still laughing out loud in her usual giggly tone. She watched as her other roommates started to get themselves ready. Getting bored of smiling at what make-up they picked, Maryn picked up her Charms book off her bed side table and placed it in front of her. Maryn flipped through the pages looking at some of the explaining pictures not really bothering to read anything. She smiled thinking about some of the more complicated charms thinking that she would never accomplish them. Maryn shrugged flipping through more pages still listening to some of her dorm mates complaining. Well, maybe she did get them up a bit early, but whatever. Maryn smiled a funny evil smile to herself flipping over a page.
It was a few more minutes until Maryn heard someone talk to her. She shifted her book out of her faces and smiled at Alarice. "Totally." She said. maryn then stood up, adjusted her Gryffindor robes. She tilted her head for a moment noticing something was unMaryn like about it. She then picked up her wand from her pocket and pointed it first at her fingernails. Maryn watched as they changed to a light playful pink with little red dots on them. Maryn smiled again flicking pink heart ear rings on her ears. She smiled at the finished product and turned out of their room with Alarice behind her. Maryn always put little things to her outfits to make them personal and different. That was Maryn for you. She hated to look the same as other because she wasn't. Maryn never wanted anyone else to rule her life and she sure let that be known.
"So, what woke you up this morning?" Maryn joked to Alarice as she walked down the stairs into the common room. Maryn went into the little room and noticed very few people in there. One of them was another dorm mate named Jessica. Maryn smiled as she approached her. "Morning, so who woke you up?" She joked again. Maryn then turned towards Alarice. "Sorry, but that's too funny not to say it." Maryn laughed again. "So, what's up?" Maryn asked Jessica casually. Maryn the looked at the little watch on her wrist that changed colors and fonts every second. She noticed that they had a bit of time before breakfast so, she looked back at Jessica waiting for her to say something.

Jessica looked up from her chair as her dorm two mates came over. Maryn the girl who had given them the wake up call looked over at her cheerfully and said jokingly Morning, so who woke you up? Giggling slightly she then turned to Alarice and said Sorry, but that's too funny not to say it. Again turning back to her Maryn said So, what's up? Oh, nothing same old Mondays she said with a grin. Looking over at the clock Jessica saw they had some time before breakfast. Pushing a piece of hair out of her face Jessica watched a couple First year boys stumble down the stairs almost falling on there face. Shaking her head slightly Jessica said I usually hate Mondays but today for some reason I can't wait for it to start. I guess it is because I had a kind of boring weekend.
This was true she did have a boring weekend she was mostly stuck inside catching up on her homework or studying. Pulling her head from the clouds Jessica watched as he little black and white kitten Smokey walked over to Maryn and rubbed against her leg. Smiling slightly Jessica said she has taken quite a liking to you hasn't she.
((((sorry it takes me forever to respond))))

"Ooh! Cute nails!" Alarice complimented Maryn as they made their way out of the dormitory. She was so unique, and always had something special about herself or her outfit. Alarice admired that trait in Maryn, and wished she could be a bit more like her, even if Al wasnt too much of a girly girl.
Alarice arranged her facial feautures into a pondering expression as Maryn asked who woke her up that morning. "Hmmm, lemme think a minute." Said Al playfully shoving her in the shoulder. "Actually, I woke up a bit before you, but then I fell back asleep." Al said thoughtfully. "I think it was your owl that originally got me up." She said with a small laugh. She could still remember her dream and she giggled at the thought that at first she had believed the screeching to have been seagulls.
As the girls entered the common room the warmth of the fire swept over them, and Alarice immediately spotted Jessica Rose, another third year Gryffindor, resting in a lounge chair. Maryn and Al made their way over and said hello. Alarice smiled a bit reluctanly as Maryn joked about who had woken Jessica up that morning. She listened as Maryn and Jessica made some small talk, and let her eyes stray over the room. Many of the girls, and a few boys were beginning to descend from the staircases looking groggy and a bit hungry, dressed in their Hogwarts uniforms. The fire still crackled from the night before, and Al expected the house elves had been responsible for keeping it alive through the evening. A few cats and other pets roamed the room and slept in little balls beneath the armchairs. Al turned her attention back to the conversation just in time to hear Jessica's last comment. Al glanced down and noticed that one of the cats, a kitten actually, had strayed over to them and was rubbing against the side of Maryn's leg.
"Aww your kitty is so cute!" Said Alarice to Jessica, bending down to scratch behind the creatures ears. "I wish I had a cat. I have an owl though!" Al said cheerfully. "Her names Berry, which everyone thinks is a bit of an odd name for an owl, but I like it!" She gave the kitten one last stroke and then said, "So whats her name?"

Maryn nodded. "This weekend has been boring, actually." She said smiling. Maryn then sat down in a chair next to Jessica. The fire kept the room warm and toasty and Maryn was glad at that. It was so very cold outside and Maryn felt a bit sorry for the Slytherins being in the dungeons, well at least that's where it was rumored to be. But, then Maryn remembered how mean Slytherins were and changed her mind about the being sorry part. Maryn had to admit she didn't mind going to classes that day. Hogwarts was so much better than the muggle schools she had first attended. She could learn about magic and not Algebra. Maryn loved that and wished to never go back there again. She soon became bored listening to Alarice and Jessica. So, Maryn took out her wand and playfully made pink and flew sparks appear from the end. She watched as the little bit of colors danced in their small spot.
Maryn nodded cheerfully as Alarice noticed Jessica's cute kitty. Maryn smiled listening to Alarice's response. "Yep, I have an owl too. Sorry she woke you up Al." She said smiling. "Her name's Morgen and man she acts like me." Maryn joked again. She looked at her little watch again. "Well, we have a bit more time before breakfast, so do you both want to take the long way to the Great Hall?" She asked mischievously. "The one that takes us somewhere you have never been." Maryn said slyly again with a mischievous grin on her face. She looked at the girls waiting for an answer.
