How beautiful they were. How exquisite and how lovely. But they wouldn’t stay that way. Oh no, nothing ever stays that way. Everything gets ruined, tarnished, and destroyed. Everything does. It’s inevitable. She had come to terms with it when she was practically destroyed. But she isn’t destroyed now. Oh no, she’s perfectly whole. Everything inside of her was happy and beautiful. Or was it? Was it all pretend? All fallacy? She would never really be sure ever again. One day she’s whole, the next she’s broken and empty. Who knows what she’ll be tomorrow or the day after that or the day after that? Dixie smiled as she turned over in her bed. It wasn’t a warm smile, but a scary – crazed smile. One that sent shivers up and down your spine. Rarely, if ever, did Dixie give out warm contented smiles. They were always crazy. Always insane. With that smile still on her face, Dixie got out of bed and dressed. She ran a brush through her hair and brushed her teeth before grabbing her jacket and heading down into the common room. It was empty, or almost was. Most people were already heading toward the carriages which would take them to Hogsmeade. Which was where Dixie was going to spend her weekend. At least then she’d be able to enjoy some peace and quiet, unlike at the school.
Her feet carried her to an empty carriage, all the while that smile still upon her face. She closed the door and relaxed against the seat, letting the Thestral do its job and pull her to her destination. Recently one would find Harrison in there as well, but since he left Hogwarts to finish his schooling elsewhere – Dixie has been alone in settings she normally would be accompanied by him. She closed her eyes, the smile still upon her face, and fell into a light sleep. One that was disturbed by the sudden jerk of the carriage. Dixie narrowed her eyes and then looked out the window, realizing she had arrived at Hogsmeade. With the smile back on her face, she stepped out of the carriage and headed toward the Hogs Head. She could use a cup of tea and a biscuit right about then. When she entered the building, heads turned toward her but she simply sent them that same smile and headed toward a table in the back. There sat a boy from school. Actually, one that she knew rather well of. He had graduated the year before. Vincent Crabbe Jr. He was someone that most people were frightened of while he was at Hogwarts. In fact, Dixie believed it was mainly because of his group of friends. Draco Malfoy being one of them. If someone could ever call Draco a friend.
Dixie sighed and pulled a chair out and sat down in front of him, “Hello there, Vince. How’s life treating you after Hogwarts?” Since Dixie had been let out of the ward, her courage had gone out the window. As well as any other emotion that would relate to fear. She was never afraid of any human, but rather shadows or make believe people in her mind. Vincent was no longer scary to her, he was just another person who she could manipulate with her insanity.
