Adrian closed his eyes contentedly, leaning back in his chair and letting the silence envelop him. It was nearly lunchtime and everyone was out. His father was...well, Adrian was never really sure about anything when it came to his father but he didn't really care anyway. It was hard to care about someone who was never there. His mother had taken Lita out for a Girls Day - he didn't even want to think about what that entailed. The female mind was something that he wasn't particularly eager to explore - and they wouldn't be back for several hours. It wasn't often that he had the house to himself and Adrian was determined to make the most of the opportunity that his family had unwittingly given him. Peace and quiet. The first silence he had encountered in weeks. Not that Lita was noisy. She was just...a child still. At times she could pass for a teenager but more often, she was just a child. Which was good. Adrian didn't want to lose his naive little sister just yet. Maybe in a few years. Say, twenty? His brown eyes snapped open at the sound of a door opening and Adrian rose silently, automatically reaching for his wand before realising that magic was still forbidden during the holidays and reaching for the nearest thing to hand. A...newspaper. Ah well, he could still give an intruder a few paper-cuts, Adrian rolled his eyes but still gripped the rolled-up newspaper firmly.
He was supposed to be the only one in the house and Adrian knew for a fact that his father would be gone for several more hours. Lita and his mother would be gone for at least another hour, surely, so the only option was an intruder. "Addy!" Adrian grimaced, dropping the newspaper in terrified defeat. Oh no. This was no intruder. This was much-much worse. This was Leanna. His cousin and one of the few people who could terrify him. Not to mention that nickname that she gave him. Really, nicknames were one of the most irritating things on Earth. "Addy," The voice came again, closer than before and sounding slightly irritated. Adrian froze, his eyes searching for a way out. If she caught him then he would be doomed. The floo! Adrian sighed gratefully, inching toward his bedroom. His was one of the only two upstairs fireplaces connected to the Floo Network and, not for the first time, Adrian was grateful. "Rob Asters bookshop," Adrian whispered quietly, choosing a place that was more like home to him than his actual house at times. The shop was in Hogsmeade so Adrian spent a lot of time there even when he was in school. Rob was one of his mothers closest friends and, in turn, Katelyn - Robs daughter - was a good friend to both Adrian and Lita.
"Come to help me, Adrian?" Katelyn lifted an eyebrow inquiringly, amused by the terrified look on her friends face. "No, Katelyn. Not today." Adrian grinned, carefully wiping the fear from his face. "Leanna," He added when her eyebrow merely arched higher. Katelyn nodded in understanding, swallowing a giggle but unwilling to show Adrian how much his cousin amused her. Secretly, she was sure that Leah only tormented him to see the expression on his face. "I'll be back later," Adrian assured her, receiving a light smile in response. Adrian stepped outside, leaning against the wall lazily and just watching the people pass by. He couldn't be bothered to wander around the shops, neither was he really interested in drinking butterbeer or visiting Zonkos.
