Kennedy, I don't have much time for this, so I will be brief. Just moments after we said goodbye to after boarding the Hogwarts Express, your sister was kidnapped. It all happened so quickly, and I really don't even know how to explain it. Your father said that he was pretty sure about who the kidnappers may have been, but he is not here now. He left in a hurry, claiming that everything would be alright, however I doubt him. I know that you cannot leave the school, and even if you could, I would want you to stay there where you are safe. I have to go for now, but you will hear from me in a few days, when I have hopefully found your sister and sorted this all out. Please don't worry about me. I will be fine on my own. Love Always, Mom
((OOC- this letter arrives for Kennedy shortly after he arrives back at Hogwarts the first night.))

While reading the letter, Kennedy couldn't help but roll his eyes. "Serves the little brat right," he said aloud. He was never to fond of his younger sister Kailyn. From what his mother said, he wasn't too worried either. Apparently, his father had things under control. He was however confused as to why his mother would doubt his father. He was curious if there was something that she knew that he didn't. Was there something about his father that she wasn't telling him?
Quickly, Kennedy turned the parchment over and pulled a quill from his bag. He scrawled a quick not back to his mother.
Mom, Why are you wasting your time looking for the dumb little brat? It would be a favor for us all if she were kidnapped. Anyways, why don't you just trust dad? If he says everything is going to be alright, then take his word for it. It is probably just someone who is trying to get some money or something. Once dad gets there, they will realize that they are messing with the wrong family. Well, I guess I just want you to be careful. Don't get yourself hurt or anything over Kailyn. It wouldn't be worth it. Let me know when you have more news, Kennedy
He had to laugh at some of his remarks in the letter. Knowing his mother would punish him later for his attitude toward his sister, he knew it was well worth it. Honestly, he was sick of Kailyn ruling the Valak house. He really couldn't justify being sad even if she never did return.
The more he thought about the situation, the more odd it became. First of all, why would someone kidnap Kailyn, besides for money. The kidnappers had to have figured out by now that they couldn't have possibly chosen a worse brat to kidnap. He had to smile, thinking of the trouble that Kailyn was probably giving them.
What bothered Kennedy even more though was what his mother said about his father. If he knew who the kidnappers were, then why were they after Kailyn? If his dad had made enemies, then it just wasn't Kailyn who was in trouble, but also his mother and himself. The thought didn't stay though, as Kennedy tied the parchment to the owl and sent it back to his mother. He then threw his bag over his shoulder and went to find Fiona. Maybe she would make more sense of the whole situation.
