Another day, another lunchtime. What was Sophia to do? She had been in school for only a week, and she already had piles of homework to do. She could never have imagined the amount...it was as if the professors thought "Well, they're doing OWLs now, they can handle twice as much work as they got last year", or something. She was doing the same subjects as last year, no exceptions-the compulsaries plus Arithmancy and Care of Magical Creatures. All Sophia wanted was a bit of peace and quiet, for a change. There seemed to be an extraordinary number of first years around this year, asking for directions...she wasn't even a prefect, or even old enough to be a prefect! Come to think of it, she didn't even want to be a prefect, particularly.
Having made failed attempts to find a free table in both the Hufflepuff common room and the library, she dragged her bag and her grumpy self off to the student lounge. This would never normally be her preferred working spot, but it would have to do, seeing as the common room was packed full of chatting, well, Hufflepuffs, with the odd one doing some work, and the library was pretty much packed full of working students. She hoped that the student lounge would have some space-she was in no mood to wander around the school in search of somewhere to work. She was fed up enough as it was.
However, entering the Student lounge, she found that there were several spare tables. She decided that she would take one as far away from the door as possible-she just wanted to be left alone so she could get as much work done as possible. She had already wasted 20 minutes trying to find a suitable working space, as it was, so she didn't want to be disturbed at all, whoever it was, whatever house or year. if someone came to sit at her table, she wasn't even prepared to shoo them away, unless they started to annoy her, but she wasn't going to think about that right now. Instead, she took some parchment, ink and a quill from her bag, and started to write.

Wendi giggled putting her muggle book down. She had skipped lunch for the day and was instead sitting in her dorm reading. In was an odd site to see, actually. Wendi Parson was sitting still reading a book on her bed. Who woulda thunk as Wendi would say. Wendi smiled putting the book on her nightstand. She loved the way muggle authors wrote their selections. They were all ways so funny and filled with interesting muggle facts. Wendi sat up from her bed. Even though she wasn't a bit hungry, she was still bored. Plus, Wendi did have a bit of homework to do, but not too much. No, actually Wendi had a handle on the little amount of homework she had. Wendi smiled as she slipped her Hufflepuff robes over her muggle clothes. She eyed herself in the mirror. Wendi shook her head playfully. I have to change me hair. She thought to herself. "I know!" Wendi exclaimed out loud. She wanted to something funny, something everyone would see. So, Wendi took out her wand and just starting doing some beauty charms. In the end, Wendi had turned her light brown hair into two crazy really high pig tails. They were both teased in a funny way, but was was relatively straight and the other curly. One pony tail Wendi had placed ducky clips in and the other was dolphins. Wendi then put two shrutchies over the plain black bands. Both scrunchies had a purple star that said crazy! on it. Wendi laughed at herself as she picked up her school bag and left her dorm.
Wendi waved to people nicely as they gave her rather odd glances. She thought it was quite fun to look different so Wendi just pretended like everything was normal. She sang the song "Bop to the Top" from her new favorite musical as she walked. Wendi tried to turned to the side to get a glimpse of her hair every now and then. Geez, I should have added some glitter. Wendi thought to herself as she giggled out loud. This was just too fun. She was nearing the Students Lounge and Wendi continued to smile to every person that passed. Some people thought it was annoying while others seemed to find it funny. Wendi exchanged in a couple of conversations with a few friends she met along the way and then she continued to make her way to the lounge. Upon arriving, Wendi crashed into a seventh year student. "Sorry, sorry!" Wendi exclaimed squeaking with her voice. The seventh year seemed alright with it and Wendi smiled. "Nice hair." The girl said before she turned to leave. "Thankies." Wendi replied as she looked around to find a table to sit at. Wendi saw a Hufflepuff girl that she remembered Wendi smiled walking over to her. "Howdy Sophia." Wendi said almost forgetting about her hair. She reached into her bag and pulled out her Transfiguration text book. Wendi didn't know the girl too well, but she was only two years older than Wendi herself. Wendi looked at Sophia. "A lot of work, huh?" She asked. Wendi knew she was right already. "It's okay I will try to not disturb you too much." Wendi giggled still looking at Sophia, but then she stared to read her Transfiguration Book. Wendi glanced up Sophia every now and then and then at her book.

Sophia looked up from her work as somebody called an all-too-friendly "Howdy". Only one person she knew ever called Howdy...and that was Wendi, a fellow Hufflepuff 2 years below her. Looking up, she noticed that it was the constantly happy and hyper 2nd year, complete with mad hair and all. Sophia grunted a welcome, and allowed Wendi to sit down. Well, she did say that she would try not to disturb her too much, and Sophia hoped that she would stick to it.
After a while, Sophia noticed that Wendi kept on glancing at her over her Transfiguration book. That was another thing-Sophia was also doing Transfig homework, from her last lesson about the Aqincedo spell. Why was it that she was in such a grumpy moodall of a sudden, getting annoyed with anything and everything. Anyway, she thought that although she was trying to get on with her homework, she would ask Wendi about this constant glancing. "Hey, why do you keep glancing! Do you want help or something? Or do you just want me to talk to you, or something? Well, I'm sorry I'm in such a foul mood-don't ask why, cos I have no idea-but if there's something you want, then ask now while you have my attention."
Sophia fely slightly ashamed of herself after that short rant. She was definately not her normal self. It must be just the stress of all this homework that she ended up being piled with, and being an OWL student-a concept that she still wasn't quite used to yet. Well, what else could it be? She was becoming ill? Well, she didn't feel ill, or anything-no headaches or high temperatures or any other symptoms she could think of. Yup, it must just be all this work...she still had this to do, and a potions essay, both for tomorrow. At this rate, she had no idea how she was going to cope.

Wendi noticed that Sophia didn't seem like her normal self. Wendi however just smiled. She was in a good mood. For a months or so, Wendi had been in a good mood. The attack was over now, done. Wendi was pretty much over it. So with that, the old Wendi was back. Wendi pressed one hand to her crazy hair do and she giggled at the touch of hairspray. She smiled reading over a passage in her Transfiguration Book about the main affects of Transfiguration. It was a passage Wendi knew well, but wanted to study it hard. Wendi wanted a good mark on that test whenever it would be. She flipped the page and read the next passage. She looked up at Sophia every now and then. Stress maybe? Sophia was no longer taking Beginner classes so maybe she was still getting used to that. Wendi knew Jami had a hard time his fourth year, but by fifth year he was good as new and ready for his OWLS. Of course, Jamison did well on them and was ready to start studying for his career in The Ministry. Wendi flipped the page again and then her head snapped up to Sophia as she said something.
She let out a giggled at Sophia's comment. "Calm down Sophia-Soph!" She said making up a cute nickname for Sophia on the spot. Wendi had her usual cute, happy go lucky tone of voice. "I don't need help I love Transfiguration and I got a high mark in it last year." Wendi said trying not to brag. She was just trying to make a point. "I just get bored easily is all." She said smiling and glancing up. "Hence the hair." Wendi said pointing at her fabulous new brown locks as she giggled. "You need a break Sophia Hallington. A breather, a calm down, and an organizer." Wendi said in funny tone of voice as she reached into her bag. "Fourth year is tough or at least that is what Jami told me." She said pulling a new organizer out of her bag. "But, if you organize your time like I do, you will have time for fun and school." Wendi said pushing the organizer in front of Sophia. "Believe it or not, this hyper, crazy, fun Huffle second year knows how to manage her time." Wendi said pointing to herself as she smiled.
"Keep it." Wendi said pointing to the organizer she had placed in front for Sophia. "That was supposed to by my new one, but Jami can get me another in Hogsmeade." She said sighing. "I can make it pretty for you if you want." Wendi said reaching into her bag again. She pulled out her muggle colored pencils and a pack of stickers and put them in front of her. She pointed at Sophia's parchment. "Work, work missy." Wendi said in a teacher like tone. "Let me be the mommy and wrote down a schedule for you and decorate." Wendi said not even letting her mind trace to her mom. She wasn't going to think about it for the time being. No, she wouldn't let herself go there. Wendi closed her Tranfiguration Book. She didn't even have study time scheduled now so she could do it later. Wendi just looked at Sophia and waited for her to respond.

Sophia just grunted at Wendi again. How could the girl be so happy and hyper, constantly?? Must be a 2nd year thing, Sophia thought. No longer the babies of the school, but still young enough to get away with a lot, and sometimes being thought of as cute. Whereas 4th year was terrible. No longer in beginners classes, but still relatively young....OWL classes were a massive step up from Beginners...too much homework, even with the same lessons as in 3rd year...it was crazy! And all the classes were unpredicatable-you never knew where you were. One day you'd have no homework, doing easy-ish work, and had loads of free time, then bam! The next day, you started new things, or had mini-tests in the old, got loads of big homeworks to do, and have no free time. It was so unfair!
But Wendi had all of that to come. She hadn't even had to choose her subjects yet, and for Sophia that seemed like ages ago, though it was little more than a year since she chose. She could barely remember her 2nd year...except that she had little work compared to now, although it seemed like quite a bit at the time. Anyway, that no longer mattered-all that did matter really was OWLs, and didn't she know it! Of course it was the favourite subject for her teachers now...OWLs this, exams that, get-good-results-or-else the other...they were mad, the lot of 'em! She frowned at the very thought-Sophia had never been one of the best students-far from it. The only subject she expected to get a good mark in was Arithmancy, maybe COMC or Herbology, but nothing else!
She had to perk up slightly once Wendi started talking. She was saying something about needing a break, or a calm down or something of the sort. It was true, but a lot easier said than done. She just had too much to do, and not a lot of time to do it all in. Her life was madness, a shambles, even. Although it would be nice just to have a day or 2 off...a trip to Hogsmeade or something at the weekend would maybe help, but it wouldn't get her work done. She glanced down at her Transfigurtion work. A grand total of oneshort paragraph was written on the paper. Talking wouldn't help either, she thought, but it was a sort of relief, of not rather annoying.
Then Wendi brought out an organiser-apparently another thing Sophia needed. She flicked through it-it was very basic, just each day of the year organised into weeks, with spaces for each day to write things in, such as homework, or other planned things. It could prove to be useful-plus it was yellow! Wendi mentioned that it was supposed to be her new one, from Jamison...her brother? She vaguely recognised the name. Sophia just smiled at Wendi as she offered to decorate it for her. She was a generous, friendly girl, really, if not a little too mad and hyper. But hey, Sophia didn't really mind at the moment. She was slightly less grumpy than she was, but was still a bit annoyed. She thought that she ought to say something though.
"Um, thanks...that's really kind of you to give me this. It'll be very useful I think...thanks a lot!" She rummaged in her bag for her schedule for this year. "Well, if you really want to write in my schedule, then you're very welcome to!" She found it, and handed it to Wendi. "As you said, I need to organise my time better. I really do need a break...it's only been a week, but it's still getting to me!" She went back to her essay writing, and occasionally looked up at Wendi to see what she was doing with her new organiser-was it going to end up looking wacky and mad, like her Wendi's-a similar one that was on the table beside her, or was she going to tone it down a little, to make it look quite simple and pleasent...
((Sorry for the long wait...))

"No prob!' Wendi said smiling. "Even though I seem crazy and out of control sometimes, I worry to. I worry about my classes, my life, my friends. Just over the years, I learned to let go of all my thoughts when I really needed to let go." She said sighing. Wendi nodded as she took the schedule. "Hey, I have time. Plus, me being the little organization freak that I am is kinda fun, I must admit." She said smiling. Wendi nodded. "Yea, it's amazing how much better you will feel if you add some free time into your day. Me being a second year, I have to add more study time than free time just because I have enough free time already, but fourth and fifth years need more free time because they work so hard." She said calmly. "Well, most of them do." Wendi said rolling her eyes at two Gryffindor fifths years flirting in the corner. Jeez, this was the Student Lounge for Pete's Sake! But, Wendi held her tongue. For the moment, she wouldn't say a word. But knowing Wendi, that moment wouldn't last very long. Wendi smiled as she pulled the organizer, the stickers, and the colored pencils closer to her. Wendi wasn't an artist, but she could usually do a good job at glamming things up. But, first things first. Wendi opened the organizer and looked at Sophia's schedule. She had to plan Sophia's time before she could make it pretty.
Wendi glanced at Sophia's schedule every now and then as she wrote. Wendi wrote down all of Sophia's classes in the organizer. Jeez, the girl did seem to have a bunch of classes. Wendi now understood why she didn't have much free time, but still, Sophia did need some time to herself. After writing down all the times of Sophia's classes, Wendi put in times for things she knew Sophia did ever day like breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sophia could do the rest since Wendi really didn't know Sophia's exact routine during the day. Wendi glanced up at Sophia every now and then. Now, Wendi could get to the run part! Yay! But, first Wendi couldn't stand her hair any longer, It was cute at first, but now it just bugged her. With a few simple charms, Wendi's once crazy hair was now down and wavy. She just kept it like that even though it still bugged her. Oh well. Wendi would deal with it later.
Now Wendi could finally decorate. She grinned to herself. Usually, Wendi would do something absolutely crazy, but she wasn't doing this for herself. It was for Sophia. So, Wendi decided to tone it all down a bit. Wendi looked at the simply yellow organizer. She put her fingers on her head as she thought what to do. Finally, Wendi got it! She smiled as she got to work. Wendi unwrapped a package of stickers that she wanted and placed them around in various ways. She then took her pastels and colored. In the end, the organizer was yellow with purple butterflies placed at different places on the organizer. And these were magical stickers so they actually flew around the organizer as they glittered all the while. Wendi had added little purple and green stars with her colored pencils. And with a creative, simple charm the gleamed softly near the butterflies. Wendi held it up and looked at Sophia. "So, whatcha think?" She asked. Wendi loved it. It wasn't over done for Wendi's taste at all. "Oh wait!" Wendi exclaimed. She then took her purple color and wrote Sophia Hallington at the top in curly writing. She smiled. Wendi looked at Sophia. "There done." She said simply. Wendi smiled. "So are there any events you need me to add in this or anything else?" She asked as she opened it up and showed the inside to Sophia. Wendi waited for the fourth year to respond.
((Sorry it took forever))

((Sorry it's been a while...))
Sophia listened as Wendi talked about how she worried sometimes. Sophia was the same-she was always worrying about something-if she didn't understand a piece of work, or couldn't work it out, whether she'd done her homework, about being an OWL student, and outside school, generally about her family. But Wendi said that she'd managed to let go of her thoughts-something Sophia would love to be able to do...but it seemed to be easier said than done. Then Wendi started working on her planner, so Sophia got back to work on her essay.
"So, you find organising things fun, right? I'm the opposite, mostly-I take things as they come. Which means that I often underestimate the amount of stuff I have to do until, one day, bam, you're overloaded with work and you have to stay up half the night puzzling over whatever is is you have to do, and end up getting very grump, extremely overtired, and don't concentrate properly, so the work contnues to mount up. So thanks a lot for this-I do need to be a lot more organised, and I really appreciate this. It'll really help. If there's anything I can do in return, I'd be happy to!"
She noticed Wendi rolling her eyes, and looked behind her, to see two Gryffindors there, doing anything but work. She glanced over at Wendi, and raised her eyebrows at them-why couldn't they just get a room. She'd heard rumours of a mysterious room somewhere around school that turned into any room you wanted-why couldn't they go there? Or an empty classroom? It was distracting, and made Sophia-someone who had never had a love interest-feel, perhaps unintentionally depressed. It wasn't as if she was particularly interested, but it was one of those things-seeing people in a situation that you had never been in, and weren't likely to be in any time soon. So she turned back, sighing, and read over what she had already written. Despite being slanted, and in fairly scruffy writing that was probbaly going to be illegible to any teacher that set their eyes on it, it wasn't so bad. She sucked on the end of her quill-brigh purple with sparkles-thinking about what to write next.
She looked up every once in a while to check on Wendi's progress with the planner. It was looking truly fantastic-stickers, bright drawings-butterfles, by the looks of it. Purple too-great! Sophis'a favourite colour! Plus green-another colour she liked! Her classes and other regular events had also been written in, leaving gaps for free time and other things that she had to do. Wendi had also changed her hair, by the looks of things-although it was simply just down and wavy, it suited her. Maybe not as Wendi-ish as her other style, but still pretty. Glancing back at the planner, she noticed that some of the butterflies had started flying around-another plus.
Not long afterwards, Wendi handed Sophia her planner, having decorated it and written her name on it. "Wow" Sophia exclaimed "It's wonderful" Thanks a lot! I love the butterflies-you must be a very skilled witch to be able to do that-I know I couldn't! Is charms one of your best subjects-just you seem to be using a lot of charms-for this and your hair, too. It's very nice, by the way. And I can't think of any more events. Unless you count Halloween, but that's still a while off yet!" Sophia grinned as she looked through the planner again-it was beautiful-she loved it.
