Kamron moved steadily down the hall toward, his long robes flowing behind him as he did. Thins between Sydney and himself were going well, though as always, school schedules allowed them little time to spend together, and their relationship had far from progressed. Instead, since school had dismissed earlier that year, they hovered somewhere between friends and more than friends. At least he had been able to peak to her the previous week, and they set plans for the ball. There had been some deliberation over exactly what their costumes should have been, but they finally settled upon two of the strongest people the history of magic had ever known: The Lady of the Lake and Merlin.
He continued on until he reached the entryway that divided the normal castle from the wondrous environment Dumbledore had created for the Ball. There he waited for Syd, shifting hi long midnight blue robes on his shoulders so they hung just a bit straighter.

Sydney sat at her vanity and played with her hair for a moment. She set a 12 hour spell on her hair so it would be blonde. Her normal red color was far from blonde. She found it odd to look at herself, but she knew that it wasn't perminent, thankfully. Pulling a tendrill to the front she smiled as she gave one last look at herself, as she stood up. Nodding with confermation she pocketed her wand, and left her dorm as well as the Gryffindor Common room and made her way towards the Great Hall. Kamron Leopold was her date for the evening, a boy who she fancied quite a bit. They have had a small relationship since last year, but nothing really happened. They both knew they liked each other and petty flirting went on but nothing else. Cause to that was they hardly saw each other outside of classes.
Walking down the last stair case, her long blue shimmery dress slid behind her. The dress seeme to fit her like a glove. It was staples and long all the way to the ground. It had a ribbed bust and a second layer of blue fabric over top of the first. She wore matching arm covers. Her hair was blonde, covered in tendrils. It looked kind of messy, but that was the look she was going for. Sydney felt it was a good enough portrail of The Lady of the Lake. Walking acrossed the marble floor, Syd saw Kamron waiting for her. She looked down and smiled. Walking closer she raised her head and greeted. "Hey Kam! Wow, I like your costume." She said as she just couldn't take her eyes off of him.

He hadn't been looking in the direction of the stairs when she came. Instead a particularly interesting couple had caught his attention and he was current;y trying to analyze their relationship. From the body language he was getting it seemed that the girl was far less interest than the boy was, and normally such obviously behavior from the male was rare, and seeing it in such purity was nothing short of fascinating.
He heard his name, and immediately recognized the voice. He turned to see Sydney stopped in front of him, and the thoughts of the behavior of the couple inside drifted from his mind. "You...you look....beautiful." He stammered, as he suddenly found words hard to pronounce. He smiled at her comment and adjusted his costume, which felt inadequate compared to hers. He wore a long, heavy midnight blue robes trimmed with swirling silver and stars. He had fussed with his hair and worked a few charms so that now it looked much like Dumbledores, long and grey, with a thick grey beard, and he topped it off with a pointed wizards hat that matched his robes.
He stood for a moment, then almost not knowing how to act. Finally he shifted his weight. "So...are you ready to go in?" he asked, taking a bold step and reaching forward to take her hand.
