Mitch woke up before anyone else in his dorm to search for the cloths his farther had bought for him he had been looking for about 5 minutes when a brown package caught his eye he quickly grabbed it and riped it open and to his surprise it was a very neatly folded set of robes . Now that Mitch had found what he was looking for he started to the things he'd taken out back in to his trunk once every think was back in his trunk he put the robes back on top and closed his trunk. Mitch went about his day as usual it wasn't till he found at it was 7o'clock that he started to panic he ran from the library to the common room in what must have been record time .Once he was inside he stopped and caught his breath then walked as calmly as he could past every one who was in the common room when he got to the stairs he got into a run. Mitch swung the door to his dorm open then rushed over to his trunk where he got out his robes and laid them on his bed and got out off what he was wearing and slipped into the nice new robes his father had got him .
Once he was ready he found a mirror to see how he looked in his new robes . He liked the fact they made him look older he could probably pass as a 3rd year. Mitch left the common room at 7.55 so he got there after it had started. He waited at the doors before entering he scanned the room for people he new but when he didn't see any he walked in and got a pumpkin juice and then just stood around he did tried to mingle but couldn't summon the courage so in the end he settled for just standing around and waiting for some one he knows .

((Oh my goodness I just finished writing this I am so sorry it’s so long I never though it would be like this)) Adalia was starved, famished, hungry, and ravenous all at once. She had skipped dinner so she would have enough time to get ready for the ball and still arrive fashionably late. “Oi! Be careful not too tight. I still need to breath in this you know – and eat.” Adalia snapped at the house elf her mother had sent from home who was doing up her corset. Adalia was being a princess and needed to look the part in every way. The elf loosened it a wee bit but not so much that it lost the proper shape. Adalia adjusted her petticoats while the creature stepped away with a smile on her face. When she caught Adalia looking at her she scurried away and busied herself getting out Adalia’s jewellery and hair supplies. A large white dress was laid out on the bed and, due to many years of practice with such dresses, Adalia slipped it over her head easily. As soon as it was on properly the house elf came back and did up the many ties this time remembering to go back to the hair things immediately – Adalia was known to be unforgiving. Adalia spun in front of the mirror with a huge smile on her face – it was perfect. Her long black hair spread out around her and landed framing her face as Adalia stopped. She slipped into delicate white and pink slippers that matched her dress before going down and kneeling in front of the full-length mirror. Adalia would have preferred to sit but she couldn’t with this dress and it wasn’t worth risking messing up her hair to put her dress on after. The elf came up and put Adalia’s hair up in an elegant twist while Adalia herself applied some blush and lip gloss to accent her cheeks’ and lips’ natural pinkness. While Adalia was still kneeling the elf brought over a white gold necklace with a pink diamond pendant and strung it around her master’s neck. Adalia smiled at the look of the necklace that landed just above her square neckline, which was framed by pink ribbon that also went around the bottom of the floor length gown. Walking over to her vanity Adalia flicked her wand at her head and suddenly the twist was accented by a few glitters, which would only be seen as flickers in her hair as she danced – it needed something because her hair was so dark. She then picked up her favourite tiara she had her mother send over – the white gold one with the pink and white diamonds. Carefully she placed it on her head until it was on properly and she slowly lowered her hands admiring the effect – she really did look like a princess. The final touch was some pink diamond chandelier earrings and she was all set. The clock told Adalia it was 8.00 meaning the gallery was just now starting to fill. She took a few more moments to spin in front of the mirror and watch her puffy dress puff out that much more before she finally grabbed her small pink clutch and walked out into the common room. Up the four flights of steps Adalia found a very crowded entrance hall. She pushed through people waiting on dates – pathetic people who depend on each other – before going into the Great Hall itself. She couldn’t believe people bothered to go with others to these things – you inevitably ended up talking to someone else all evening anyways. But then again those were just average people – those people were not Adalia. Nobody here was worthy of accompanying her to a social function such as this – not even just as a friend. The music pumped and swirled around her as the mist on the floor made circular patterns as she walked through it. It was incredibly intoxicating and Adalia couldn’t help but let a genuine smile cross her face. First things first though, she needed food. She felt like a goldfish that was being kept alive by being spat on – she needed real food. Up on the platform where the teacher’s table usually sat were the five tables all filled to the brim with food and Adalia made a virtual beeline for it though not speeding up too much – a woman of worth does not run for anything. Once up there Adalia grabbed a plate and filled it to the brim holding her clutch under one arm. As she looked for a place to sit she noticed the Colins boy. She walked up behind him with a small smirk beginning to play on her lips. She wasn’t sure whether he knew she was there or not but that didn’t really matter. “Mitch…” she said “I'm going to go sit over by the wall there but I have my hands full… Do you think you could get me a glass of pumpkin juice?” She asked in as sweet a voice as she could before walking off to the seat she had indicated at a table where she could eat.

Mitch span so fast at the sound of his name he nearly lost his drink all over Adalia's and her lovely dress. Once he'd stopped him self from losing his drink he heard her ask him to get her a drink but she asked him in what was a very rare nice tone of voice he'd never heard her use. Mitch nodded and grabbed her a goblet of pumpkin juice and walked after her , trying to keep his mouth closed but he was finding it hard not just the fact she new how to be nice but the fact she looked so pretty not saying she isn't usually pretty but to night, wow. Mitch put the goblet down on the table then just stood there he didn't really know what to do he'd been to balls before but never without his family to drag him round and show him off to any one that would let them, in the end he decided to sit down but one learns from experience he just sat straight down. Mitch didn't feel right with out asking but thats just how he was brought up but knowing how she got if you asked for a seat ,against his better judgment ,he sat straight down.

Upon reaching the table Adalia placed down her food then stood in front of the chair. She moved her skirt a little so she could sit without doing too much damage to it and it’s puffiness. Her back was to the wall so she could see what was going on nearly everywhere else in the hall. Adalia lifted a napkin that was folded in front of her, opened it, and laid it on her lap. Mitch arrived as she had been taking a seat and he had been intelligent enough to bring her a drink. She took a sip and watched from the corner of her eye as he stood there – very likely uncertain as the whether he should join her or no. She placed the goblet on the table and smirked as he decided to sit. He had apparently remembered their last conversation, as he did not bother asking this time. Quite frankly, anybody who did not have the self-confidence to just sit down was not worthy of being a Slytherin never mind in her company. Adalia picked up her salad fork in her left hand and began eating a tomato from the centre of her salad.

Mitch sat at the table watching the hall fill and every know and then he'd take a sip of his pumpkin juice . After a while Mitch needed a refill so he got up and walked over to the the refreshment table where he got himself another drink and a couple of wizard crackers then walked back to the table where he put down his goblet and crackers so that he could brush down his perfect midnight black robes before taking his seat once again. Mitch didn't want to disturb Adalia by asking her to dance so he let the urge slide, he'd wait until she'd finished .
When Mitch thought Adalia finished he got up and walked over to her and asked her '' would you like to dance ?, I've been told I'm rather good '' he finished with a cheeky grin.

Adalia sat and ate her dinner as Mitch got up and got a drink. She watched as the room seemed to move with all the people crowded in there. The mist swirled around everyone’s ankles and made ripples as the girls in long dresses danced. Most everyone was dressed to the nines though she wouldn’t be able to tell you what most people were dressed up as. Loony Lovegood of course took the cake for most ridiculous – shocker. Big puffball she looked like – oddball that girl. Mitch came back after a moment but Adalia virtually ignored him – at least he hadn’t asked to sit down. The music swelled and Adalia watched people dancing as she finished her plate. Adalia picked up the goblet with her left hand and took a sip as she pushed the plate away with her right. So long as it wasn’t directly in front of her – someone would clean it up later.
As she replaced her drink to the table Mitch asked her to dance. Adalia swept her eyes up and down scrutinizing him for at least half a minute before she decided he was properly attired to be seen with her. But then she took another half a minute to decide whether she wanted to or not. On the one hand it was a dance but on the other was anybody truly worthy to dance with her? In the end she simply decided it was but one night and so she would allow him the pleasure of dancing with her – it was Halloween.
“Sure. Why not?” she answered lifting her hand fully expecting him to give her his arm so she could stand up. When she was standing properly she adjusted her petticoats once more so her dress was perfect. A quick check with the mirror on the wall beside her showed that her hair and makeup were still perfect so she smiled to herself and moved the crown just a centimetre so it would be standing perfectly erect. Adalia then placed her hand lightly on Mitch’s arm so he could lead her to the dance floor – a lady never leads in such things – that is common and tasteless.

Mitch noticed how she had sized him up before agreeing to dance , and seen as Mitch was a true gentleman he gave his hand to help her up ,once she was up he noticed she was checking her self in the mirror .Mitch waited as she adjusted her crown before giving Mitch her arm so as he could lead her on to the dance floor. Mitch walked out and it seemed as if of every one was parting for them .Mitch lead Adalia out in to the middle of the dance floor where he stopped and placed his hands in the appropriate place's he waited for her to do the same once she had he began to lead in a waltz which was by far his best dance .
( sorry its so short )

Adalia allowed herself to be lead onto the dance floor placidly. The whole song through she simply followed his lead. Adalia’s mother had enrolled her in ballroom dance when she was younger but Adalia had never much liked it and therefore was simply taught the basics that she would need to get along at social functions and then lessons ceased. Not that it was important – she had always been told that on the dance floor a lady never lead. In many respects Adalia would be considered a traditionalist – she couldn’t help it – that’s how she was raised. She was to uphold the St. John name and to do so she must follow the established practices. The tried and true methods. And she didn’t mind one little bit. The rules, the order, the structure, all of it enforced her sense of control. And Adalia certainly liked being in charge. Not that she was conscious of any of this but…
As the song ended Adalia broke away from Mitch and took a step back. “Lovely” she said before taking a spin looking down in the mist to watch it ripple around the base of her dress. She would have to learn the charm for the mist – it was simply too amusing. She looked up at Mitch and smiled but found she had perhaps spun then looked back up a tad bit too fast and she caught a sudden flash of dizziness. She giggled then closed her eyes a moment to regain her bearings. “Well then.” she said through giggles opening her eyes.
