Angelique opened her arms in waiting for a hug from Alexandra, who stared at her cousin, wondering whether or not she should give her a hug good-bye... She sighed and wrapped her arms about the blond 30 year old's neck. Angelique sighed and then stood, waving good-bye and walked off passed the platforms of King's Cross. Alexandra took hold of the red wood trunk that held her school supplies and clothes and the empty owl cage and started toward Platform 9 and 3/4. Her trunk made scrapping sounds on the concrete as she pulled it. Her cropped off black hair flew back as a wind pushed at her face, grazing her nose and ears. Her black and red feathered owl, Vampire, flew around and around her head, hooting softly. Muggles stared at her as she passed. She just ignored them. Once at the barrier between platform 9 and 10, she waited. After a few moments of staring, the Muggles would go on with whatever they were doing at which time Alexandra sighed, rolling her eyes and then walking casually through the barrier.
Steam billowed from the scarlet train as students boarded and said good-bye to their parents and such. Vampire landed on her shoulder and hooted in agitation from all of the loud noises coming from the platform. Alexandra touched her finger tips to Vampire's feathers. The owl hooted again, this time a bit more relaxed and Alexandra continued through the throng of students waiting to board the train. She made her way over to the train and, sneering, climbed up into the train. Getting the trunk up there was difficult, but in the end she was dragging it across the carpeted "hallway" between the compartments. She went to the very last one and opened the glass door, dragging her trunk inside.
Once her trunk was underneath the seat and Vampire was safely in her cage, she sat down and relaxed. A few second year Gryffindors asked if they could sit there and Alexandra sneered and slammed the door in their faces. She didn't want to share a compartment with some idiotic young Gryffindor. If she was going to be in the presence of a Gryffindor, they need to be old enough and capable to have a good duel with... She sighed again and sat down yet again, bored out of her mind and wanting the train to hurry up and get to Hogwarts. A Hufflepuff asked to be in the compartment and yet again Alexandra pushed the young girl out and slammed the door without a word. She sat down and sighed again, this was extremely boring.

"Will you stop pecking me! I'm going as fast as I can!" Pyro said to his right shoulder in which Miaka sat atop. Miaka, his Phoenix, was a bit impatient and wanted to get to the train, so to make Pyro move faster she continuously pecked his ear. Pyro carried his trunk over his should as he walked down the hallway and into the room with the fireplace. He had chosen to get to platform 9 & 3/4 by Floo Powder today. Pyro had no idea what Mary would be using to get to the platform. He probably end up running into her somewhere though. When Pyro stepped into the room he noticed Mary's mother, Judith, standing next to the fireplace. Pyro bowed slightly at the sight of her. "I must thank you again for allowing me to stay here for the summer." He stood up. "As for next summer I am not sure whether I will be returning here. So please don't expect me." He said with a smile. He had no intention of returning, now that he had set his family problems straight. His father should be making it more public soon though. After a quick farewell Pyro grabbed some Floo Powder and threw it into the flames. "Platform 9 & 3/4!" He shouted and stepped into the flames.
Pyro emerged from the flames and stepped out onto the platform. White steam arose from the train and Pyro looked about the scene of kids and adults rushing about the train. Pyro sighed and looked up at Miaka. She looked a bit shaken, like she always did when he made her travel by Floo. Not that he had much of a choice. A Phoenix being carried around in the muggle world would have risen some suspicion. Pyro moved to the train and climbed in. He took one look around and immediately felt the urge to get out of that section.
Pushing through the throng of kids Pyro made his way to the back of the train. Pyro moved to the far back and slipped into a compartment. He turned and noticed a girl already in the compartment. Oh well, Pyro was not leaving. He tossed his trunk up into one of the overhead storage bins and than sat down across from the girl. Pyro glanced at her. She was very pale looking, quite, mysterious, and a bit on the pretty side. Pyro looked away and slid low on his seat and prop his feet up on the seat across from him. He sighed, although she looked vaguely familiar he didn't know what house or blood she was. He decided on a test and mumbled just loud enough for her to hear. "Stupid muggles. More and more are infesting this place with each year."

Alexandra leaned against the side of the compartment and looked at her caged owl. She did jump when the door opened suddenly and a boy entered. She watched as he placed his trunk in the rack and then sat down, ignoring her. She contemplated whether or not she should tell him to leave. She eyed him, taking in his appearance. The red robe he wore covered the black clothes her wore. She looked down at her own outfit. The extremely black pants and plain black shirt, it was off the shoulder, though, and showed off her slender shoulders. She licked her red painted lips and fingered her chropped off brown hair, wondering if it looked alright. She felt a bit surprised. She never usually cared what she looked like. Suddenly she worried if her make-up was smeared. She ran her finger tips underneith her eyes, trying to wipe away a smudge that didn't exsist. She looked back at Vampire, trying to ask help from the bird. She felt idiotic and rolled her brown, almost black eyes at herself. Why was she so nervous? Maybe it was how cute he was... she was startled at that sudden thought. Cute!? She bit her lip and took a deep breath, looking at her nails. They were naturally long and she never paints them. Suddenly a thought of painting her nails deep red came to her. She considered it.
All thoughts stopped dead, however, when suddenly the boy spoke. She looked at him again. The phoenix that sat atop his shoulder looked at Alexandra, it's head tilted to one side curiously. She looked at the boy straight in the face. He sat on the seat across from her, his legs propped up. It took her a moment to realize what he had said. Something about stupid Muggles? Yes... that was it. She agreed. Completely. She agreed with someone? Whatever...
"Yeah," she said, looking out the window. She usually didn't talk much, a few words here and there, but her answer seemed stupid and she decided to expand on it, "I hate it when they brush against your arm like their people and deserve to be touched..." she paused, "As if I need to be touched by some thing that look like the same species... they don't even deserve to walk on this planet, let alone touch a pureblood," she was shocked at her answer. She liked how her voice was soft, silky, smooth and the way she said that was perfect. She was surprised words came out at all. She looked back at the boy. She wanted to ask his name, but decided against it. The less she spoke, the better.

Pyro sat there staring up at the ceiling. He could see her fidgeting slightly. She appeared to be nervous about something, but what Pyro didn't know yet. It seemed he also surprised her when he spoke and it took her a moment to collect herself enough to answer. She simply agreed with a 'yea.' She seemed to realize how stupid of a answer it was and started to elaborate. Pyro began to grin as he stared up at the ceiling and he listened to her answer. It was clear by her attitude that she was Pureblood and clearly Slytherin. Plus it seemed she was also very uncomfortable with talking. Which was ok with Pyro, who wasn't a fan of mingling with others either.
He brought his gaze down from the ceiling and looked at her. He grinned. "Well, it appears I chose the correct compartment. You are no doubt from Slytherin?" Pyro leaned back a bit more. "Me too. The names Pyro Blackfire." He fell silent and Miaka gave him a peck on the ear. "Oh, and this here is Miaka." He added. Pyro looked at the girl and studied her.
As he looked at her he noticed she was about his age. Maybe a year or so younger, but definitely in the same year as him. He continued to study her. How could he never have noticed her before? This girl wasn't one to miss. She looked and had the attitude of a loner, one Pyro himself had also. There was no way he could have missed someone like this for four years. He watched her and judged her reaction.

She watched him after her answer, he was staring up at the ceiling that bird was still staring at her as if looking into her soul. She thought the Phoenix was extremely beautiful and understood why someone would want one as a pet. She then smiled as she looked over at the cage next to her. Vampire hooted as Alexandra looked admiringly at her wonderful owl. She turned in her seat so that her back as against the compartment wall and she brought her knee up so that her foot was on the seat in front of her, her knee sticking up. She looked back at the boy as he began to speak. Her heart stayed at a steady rhythm, which was a relief and her nervousness seemed to disappear.
He asked if she were in Slytherin and she quietly nodded, adjusting her shirt a bit as he continued to speak. As he spoke, her mind kept going over his handsome features and she mentally cursed, looking back out the window. He told her his name and she wondered if she should answer. Of course you should! she thought to herself. It would be rude not too, but that was one of her favorite things to do! Be rude to everyone. She sighed and looked back at him, deciding not to be too rude to a fellow Slytherin.
"Alexandra," she said in a soft voice and in an even quieter one added, "Ricci," she didn't like her last name. It reminded her of a life she didn't want. Leaving her parents house was the best thing she would ever do, going back? That was unspeakable. Not that her parents asked her to come back or anything. They never really loved her. Suddenly the thought of her sister being on the train made her mood turn sour. Veronique better not come near her... She looked at her hands and then out the window, thinking back when she lived at home... why would she ever want to go back there? She then looked back Pyro and wondered what he thought of her... then she looked back at her hands... why should she care what he thought of her? It didn't matter what anyone thought, no one paid any attention to Alexandra and that's how she liked it. Being excluded was the one thing she was sure of and she wanted it to stay that way. These sudden thoughts of boys being cute and wondering what they thought of her was preposterous, how could she ever have a boyfriend? She won't get close enough to a boy to even consider having a relationship!

"Alexandra?" Pyro repeated under his breath. The name didn't ring a bell. Neither did her family name. He sighed and adjusted so that he was laying down on his row of seats. Miaka flew of his shoulders and sat down on the top of the seat. Pyro folded his arms behind his head. "Hope you don't mind me shortening it to Alex. Alexandra is such a long name to say." He said with a slight smile to show he didn't mean any offense.
Pyro continued to watch her out of the corner of his eye. She was fidgeting still and looked nervous and uncertain about something. Watching her dark eyes he could see some sort of internal struggle behind them. Pyro shut his eyes and listened to the sound of the train. He lay there, eyes shut. Wondering how the girl was going to react once her little struggle was over.

She made her mind blank when he mumbled her name under his breath. She relaxed considerably and stared out the window, her subconsious watched him though. She may have been staring out the window, but the main thing she wondered was if he was looking at her, if he was wondering what she was thinking. She tried not to think about him too much. She didn't want to like a boy... she didn't want to have any sort of crush on any other human being. It starts as a crush and then she'll want to know him and be attached. That would be horrible. To be attached to someone would... no it was best to stay alone, her parents always taught her that. She stopped thinking again and looked back at the boy once he acually spoke to her.
He gave her a nickname... She stared, blankly, no expression on her face, her emotions dissapeared from her eyes as she sat there confused. No one has ever given her a nickname before. She blinked a few times and then smiled slightly. Alexandra laid back, her back against the wall of the compartment once again and she stared out into space, testing the name in her mind... Alex... she thought. It wasn't bad. It wasn't anything huge either, nothing too important, but it was rather surprising. He smiled at her and she smiled a small smile back, shrugging. Then he laid there, his eyes shut. She looked at the phoenix... it was a wonderful creature. She itched to ask where he had gotten permission for such a bird, but decided against it. She laid her head back against the wall behind her, a small smile on her face.

Pyro lay there with his eyes shut. His body shuddered and rolled slightly with the movement of the train. The silence felt good. Atleast he didn't get a compartment mate that liked to rabble and talk. Plus, he also got a very good looking one. Pyro played her image through his mind. Her pale complexion, dark eyes, dark hair. She had a mysterious beuty, and a mysterious attitude. She was a interesting one.
Just than the train gave a sudden lurge. Pyro's body was thrown off the bench. He quickly twisted his body so that he was falling face first. His hand shot down first and caught his body. Throwing himself up with that hand he managed to barrel roll his body and manage to catch his body in the bridge position. He lifted his legs up and than pushed off with his arms and landed on his feet. He stood up straight. "Damnit! I hate trains!" He growled.

Alexandra had looked away from his face, her eyes searching for relaxation. She finally just crossed her arms across her stomach and laid her head back, closing her eyes and letting her forehead rest against the other compartment wall. She just laid there, her mind completely blank. She kept seeing his face though, in darkness of her mind. He had that smuggness all Slytherins had, but something more. He seemed confident in himself and had that aurora about him that said, don't mess with me or I will hurt you. She smiled slightly. For some reason, she liked that.
Her thoughts were disrupted, however, when the train suddenly lurched forward and Alexandra almost fell over, her feet fell off the seat and her head hit the wall sharply. A throbbing pain slowly pounded its way through her head and into her eyes. She ignored the pain long enough to catch Vampire's cage from falling off the seat and moaned, massaging her temples. She looked at Pyro just in time to see his impressive move to land on his feet. She almost raised her eyebrows, but the painfull headache prevented this. He grumbled something about hating trains and Alexandra nodded, silently agreeing and then grimaced at the throbbing in her head.
She laid her head back again, the sudden start to the train caused the floor to shake slightly. The platform out the window rushed away and soon the train was heading off down the track, towards Hogwarts. She moaned again, the throbbing somehow getting worse. She rubbed her temples more and then gave up, closing her eyes tightly, wishing the headache would go away. She wondered if the damn train had caused her to get a bump on her forehead. She felt her forehead, she sighed feeling a slight bump where the pain was worse. She looked at her fingers. At least she wasn't bleeding... but this headache is much worse... She bit her lip and tried to relax again, but her head throbbed horribly.

Pyro shot a glance over at Miaka and noticed the jolt hadn't done anything to her. She had merely let go of the seat and hovered in the air until the moment had passed. Pyro frowned at her. "You and your wings." He mumbled. He sat down and looked at Alex. She seemed to be a bit hurt. He watched her, it seemed she had hit her head.
"Hey? You alright?" He asked. Pyro himself knew all about pain and injuries. Years of Martial arts, it would be inhuman to not get a few broken bones and sprained joints. Not to mention the all summer long those spells kept backfiring as he practiced them. Those had hurt.
Pyro cocked his head and looked at her. He glanced out the window and saw the landscape begin to move by. He reached over and opened up the window and let the wind blow through his hair, causing his braid to flow out behind him a bit. He smiled, wind felt good. That's probably why he enjoyed flying and quidditch so much.

After telling an older boy to go find some professor or auror Phaedra rushed to one other compartment, also in the next to last carriage. Opening the door Phaedra looked in. The occupants of this carriage were hurt a bit. „Can you walk? Come, we have to get out of here,“ Phaedra told with urgency in her voice as she hurried them out of the compartment. Luckily this carriage wasn’t sliding down the river-bank, but that didn’t mean it was safe to be here.
