Once again Pyro stepped out onto the platform of the Hogwarts Express. Unlike the previous years when he had arrived in a black car with the Blackfire crest upon it, this time he had arrived by Floo powder. Pyro had spent the summer at the Evan's manor and he didn't want to intrude on their parade. Besides, a Phoenix wasn't a creature of the muggle world, and considering that he had one sitting atop his shoulders at that moment, it would attract quite some attention. Sighing Pyro picked up his trunk, which had performed a featherweight charm on, and slung it across his shoulder and boarded the train near the rear.
It took him a while before he could find a compartment, but finally an empty one presented itself. Pyro stepped inside and slid the door shut behind him, he tossed his trunk up into a overhead compartment. Pyro reached up and made Miaka, his Phoenix, step onto his arm, than he placed her onto the bar that kept the trunks in the storage rack. She would be comfortable there. Pyro laid down upon one row of seats and folded his arms behind his head and hut his eyes, listening to the train around him as it slowly came to life.

Perseus walked out of his Grandfather's manor fully dressed in a muggle attire, his trunk and baggage propped precariously on a trolley that was barely big enough to hold all the weight. Ares, Perseus's snowy owl was perched in his cage, which he absolutely loathed. Clicking his beak indignantly, Ares made it clear that being locked up in a cage all the way to Hogwarts was less than tolerable. Perseus patted the cage and said in a quiet voice, "I know, I know. Being locked up is not something you like, but I'm sure that you will have plenty of company once you get onto the train." The lofty 7th year Slytherin made his way across the street, toward a bustling intersection adn began looking around for a muggle taxi or any means or non-magical transportation that could potentially take him to Kings Cross Station. The streets of London were crowded with thousands of people, milling about, heading toward their offices or trying to sell any product they had. Perseus abhorred the cacophony he heard everytime he entered the city. The loqaciousness of the residents and pedestrians seemed exorbitant; they never ceased their raucous yells from across the streets and never stopped to consider whether or not you wanted to buy their cell phones. After waiting for what seemed like an interminable number of eternities, Perseus finally spotted a cab and hailed it. The driver got out and offered him the door, greeting him in an extremely courteous manner, "Good day, young sir. Where would you like to go today?" Perseus nodded his head in reply and said, "Just Kings Cross Station, sir." Then, without another moment of hesitation, Perseus stepped into the cab and the driver loaded his luggage in the back of the cab before returning to the driver's seat. After a few minutes, they reached the train station and the driver unloaded Perseus's luggage. Perseus thanked the man, paid him the money, and headed toward platform 9 and 10.
He got to the barrier to see a line of people whom were actually wizards and witches, trying to look as inconspicuous as they could, but were failing extravagantly because of the plethora of owls. The perpetual hooting made from the nocturnal birds were enough to drive the guard insane. Ares, however, kept his beak shut and Perseus, endeavoring to be as inconspicuous as he could, slipped through the barrier between 9 and 10. He appeared next to the gleaming engine of the Hogwarts Express. Perseus headed to the back of the train and entered the back car, keeping his vigilant eye out for any open compartments. After a short walk, Perseus spotted someone he knew from the year before. It was Pyro Blackfire, a Slytherin 4th year and a talented wizard. Perseus slid the compartment door open and greeted Pyro, "Good day, Pyro. Long time no see." He closed the door behind him, put his trunk and baggage in one of the upper compartments and turned back to his Housemate, a bit surprised to see a pheonix perched on his arm. Perseus instantly recognized it to be a female specimen, and a fine one at that. "Where did you get her?" Perseus inquired. "They are very rare, aren't they?" Perseus was no expert in magibiology, which was the field that one of his old friends, Jaquin Prokenstein excelled at. He looked at Pyro intently, waiting for a reply.

((If you want on your next post you can bring the DE attack to notice, since it seems we wont be having to much time to do much in this post. Its up to you.))
Pyro continued to lay there, his eyes closed. Suddenly Pyro heard the door to the compartment slide open. His eyes quickly snapped open and he sat upright to see who had entered. A familiar face entered the compartment, a face that Pyro didn't have to search long to find the name to. "Perseus." Pyro said out loud as he recognized the older Slytherin. Pyro and Perseus had met on a few occasions. They mostly knew each other from Quidditch. Pyro having been a starting chaser and Perseus a beater. Never really sat down together and had much of a talk. A few comments here and there, that was all. Pyro remembered that Perseus was exceptionally well at Potions. The thought of potions made Pyro's had move unconsciously to his belt where there was still 9 little vials. He had 10 but a confrontation with Cassandra has forced him to use one.
"Yes, it has been a while." Pyro said in return to Perseus' greeting. "I hope you're break went well?" Pyro asked. Pyro noticed Perseus' gaze turn to Miaka. Pyro turned and looked at the scarlet bird and smiled. "Oh yes. They are extremely rare. I got Miaka here by a great chance of luck. It was during a Hogsmeade trip. I had gotten bored of all the other students so I ditched them and went down some deserted alley. A animal vendor popped out at me carrying her cage. Apparently he didn't have the resources to care for her so he gave her to me free of charge." Pyro leaned back and sighed as he remembered that day. "My greatest surprise was that Dumbledore actually allowed me to keep it. I guess that old man is capable of making a few good decisions." Pyro said as he chuckled.

Stepping into the second compartment Alastors eyes glided over the two boys in there. One younger, one older one. “Out to the hallway,” Alastor grunted his beady black eyes taking in the form of a phoenix near the younger boy. Neither of the boys looked very good but this was not the time for it. Constant vigilance. You had to be on your guard at all times. “Out!” Alastor growled giving the boys a push as they weren’t moving quickly enough for his liking.

"An animal vendor, eh?" Perseus repeated, more to himself than to his housemate. "Well, I'm glad that Dumbledore let you keep him. I mean, most Headmasters are not as generous as old Dumbledore. Most of them would have told you to keep her at home." Just as Perseus was about to inquire Pyro about his classes for that year, the carriage gave a huge lurch and Perseus looked out the window in time to see them leave the railroad track. He was instantaneously thrown to the roof of the carriage as it turned over. Unfortunately, the compartments that had held their luggage burst open, showering Perseus with very heavy items and his trunk. Dazed after being hit with prodigious force by his trunk, Perseus managed to recover himself and clamber back up. The carriage had rolled back onto its wheels, but the experience had been very sudden, leaving Perseus discombobulated. He glanced over at Pyro who looked well enough, and turned back toward the compartment door. Perseus whipped out his wand and all his belongings were packed back into his trunk. His hand reached toward the cage that held Ares. Ares was hooting shrilly and looked at him reproachfully. Just then, Mad-Eye Moody, Perseus's DADA professor in his fourth year stepped into the compartment. He told them to get out and into the hall and Perseus, not hesistating at all, ran out with his trunk, baggage, and Ares. The carriage had stopped just short of a crevice and was creaking precariously.
Perseus got out of carriage and looked around in the semi-darkness to see a few students huddled in a group. He looked at the Cimmerian sky to see the sun dissappearing behind a mountain on the horizon. After placing his belongings next to the carriage, Perseus got back into the carriage and inquired, "Professor Moody? How are we going to get back to the castle? Should I fly? Or should I apparate to Hogsmeade Station? Or have you already arrange safer means of transportation?"

Pyro nodded in agreement as Perseus spoke. He had been extremely lucky that Dumbledore had allowed Pyro to keep Miaka. Especially since at the time Pyro had no home to send her too. As Perseus was talking Pyro's ear perched up for a moment. Is there a commotion going on in the hall? He thought to himself. He was half listening to Perseus and half trying to make out the sounds from outside the compartment. Just as he was about to stand and check on the noises the train lurched. Nearly throwing him off his seat. Following the lurch the train bounced again and than began to roll. Pyro was thrown from his seat and before he knew it his head collided with the ceiling. Pyro was thrown to the side, back to the floor as the train finally came to a stop. Pyro began to sit up when he noticed a large blur fly past his eyes. It landed on his foot. "AAHH!!" He screamed in pain and grabbed his foot. His trunk had finally decided to fall from the rack and it landed directly on his foot.
Biting back the throbbing pain in his foot he slowly stood up. He felt something slide down the side of his face and down his cheek. He rubbed it and came back with his fingers red with blood. During the roll the windows had shattered. He had a small cut on his left cheek. Pyro's head throbbed lightly and his foot throbbed terribly. He looked around and soon spotted Miaka. It seemed she was the one to come off the easiest. She hadn't been trapped in a cage like Perseus's owl. She had managed to take flight and remained relatively safe in the air. Before Pyro could say anything Mad Eye Moody Pyro's first DADA Professor stepped into the compartment and ordered them out.
Pyro picked up his trunk and motioned for Miaka to get on his shoulders. He began to leave the compartment. He felt Moody push him. "Hey, I'm going as fast as I can." He was actually telling the truth for he had to limp slightly because his toe was giving him problems.
