Meyghan wondered up and down the train, finally stopping in the middle. She was trying to find someone she recognized, so she would be able to sit with someone she knew. Meyghan began to get angry with herself for not making more friends than she had. It's not that hard. There are plenty of other students in the same house and year. Why did I have to wait so long to try and make friends. She thought furiously to herself.
Meyghan continued to wonder the halls hoping that someone would offer her a seat.

Kathryn looked back at her Mother and Father, giving a last wave good bye as she boarded the large red locomotive. "C'mon Pixie, let's get a compartment." She called to the small black cat following her down the narrow hallway. She passed compartment after compartment in the front of the train only to find that all were taken. She bit her lower lip and pushed a few stray blonde curls behind her ear, 'well..let's try the next car.'.
She made the transition to the next car, noticing that it looked much more promising. The first few compartments were full, but the further back she went she noticed the number of students thinning out. She took an empty compartment nearly 2/3 back from the front of the car and hoisted her heavy trunk over her head. She beckoned her cat into the compartment with her and took a seat.
Several minutes later she noticed a girl walking back and forth in front of her compartment door looking very frustrated. Figuring the girl had nowhere to sit, she pulled aside the door and called to the girl, "Hello there. You look like you're looking for a place to settle. There's room here, if you don't mind sitting with a 2nd year, that is."

There was something absent-minded about the manner in which Julie Rosewood said goodbye to her father and grandmother. As much as she was going to miss her mind was occupied with thoughts that had never been there when she had said goodbye to them in the past five years. As she kissed her grandmother's cheek her grandmother looked up at her and said, "You're miles away Julie." Julie blushed and smiled. "I'm going to miss you Grandma. Take care of yourself and please don’t work too hard," she urged her. Her grandmother had always known her inside out, but then Julie was an open book, and she wasn't one to hide her feelings. Julie followed her father to their fireplace and a few minutes later they were inside a magical shop not far from Platform 9 and three quarters. Her father hugged her tightly and for the first time in his life there were tears streaming down his face. Julie looked up at him and took his hands in hers. "I'll be fine," she said, quietly but with conviction. Her father looked a bit disbelieving but didn’t say anything. She hugged him one last time and then made her way to the Platform and the barrier she had come to know so well. Soon she was surrounded by the throng of students rushing here and there and the loud greetings of friends to one another. All this was in the back of her mind though; she was only vaguely aware of it. Something had come over her again; the same thing that had hardly left her ever since she had woke up that morning.
She was in a strange sort of mood, and so she wasn't exactly happy, there was a silly grin on her face as she though about that thing, or rather that question. How could one hold one's feelings for someone when they were so strong and close to the surface? How could she stop herself today from just throwing herself at Harry when that was what she wanted to do so very much? It was true that she spent all summer telling herself to prepare for this, but with every passing moment she became more acutely aware of the fact that she might bump into him any minute now. Julie dragged her trunk into the train and it fell down heavily on one of her feet. The pain in her foot brought her out of her reverie and for a moment she frowned as she was harshly brought back to reality.
She needed someone to talk to, someone to divert her thoughts in some other direction. Well, that shouldn’t be a problem. The train was full of people. She moved through the compartments until she came across one where she saw two vaguely familiar faces. They were outside the compartment and from their conversation Julie could tell they didn’t know each other very well. "Hello. Would you mind if I joined you too?" she asked pleasantly.

Meyghan was glad to see that there were others talking to her. She had been searching for some where to sit and this seemed like the best offer she would hopefully get. " Thank You, I don't mind who I sit with. I'm not like some of the other students around here." Meyghan said to the younger girl laughingly. She was used to having someone younger around her, so it didn't bother her.
Suddenly another girl came walking up. Meyghan thought that the girl looked close to her age, and that the girl was very pretty. The girl was also looking for somewhere to sit. " I don't mind if you join. My name's Meyghan." Meyghan said as she tried to carefully make her way into the compartment.
