One year. One year is all it took for things to change dramatically. It's been one year since walking into Hogwarts with that tingly feeling in her heart. One year since seeing her father...Alive. Leah strutted toward the Great Hall looking at her shoes. She wondered if Death Eaters would come for her too. Leah watched as nervous first years walked by. Leah watched as people talked with their friends and caught up with each other. Leah sighed. Leah approached the Great Hall and stopped between the two doors that arched toward the sky.
Leah opened the doors. Candles were floating above her head. Leah crossed her arms. She sat down at the Gryffindor table, near the professors. She listened to professor Dumbledore's speech. Food appeared in front of her. Chicken, turkey, corn, green beans and all sorts of food stretched across the tables. Leah picked a chicken stick and some corn. Leah played with her food. Then she at slowly. Being near her father's last moments her made her hurt inside. Leah felt like crying, but held it back. Come one, another year at Hogwarts! I can't let my father's death keep me from being happy. I know my father would have wanted me to go on.

The train ride had been good. The walk in side had been good. Everything was going good so far. Last year had been full of mis haps. This year Arden was determined. She let everything get in the way of her having a good time. This year, that wasn't going to happed. As she walked into the Great Hall she grinned as Danial Powter popped into her head. Being a muggle born she still listened to loads of muggle bands, Daniel Powter, being one of her favorites, was almost constantly on her mind.
"Six foot two, knee socks high, classic eightie rocks. And she got hips that sawayed for you, And she got legs that never really stopped." Arden sang to herself as she took a seat. She knew many people that loved music. One was Morgan Collins afourth year Hufflepuff who could be obsessive over it. Looking around the Great Hall the Gryffindor Table met her gaze as she walked toward it, her head held happily straigh, this time there was no hesitation in her steps and she walked toward the table confidentaly, her robes almost grazing the floor as she arrived.
Sitting down she found herself across from a girl she figured was a fourth year. Her eyes giving her away it looked as if she was sad. As Professor Dumbledors speech ended and the food appeared Arden took a bite and looked at the girl. "Hi, I'm Arden!" she said smiling, her face happy as she tried to activate a friendly side of herself.
((hope I didn't godmode, I think I did by accident u can judge that))

Leah finished her food and saw out of the corner of her eye a girl sit down. Her name was Arden. She looked nice, the way she smiled reminded Leah of her father. All Leah could do was grin. " Hi, I'm Leah. Sorry if I'm not in a good mood. Alot of unfortunate events happened over the summer." Leah said as she had pictures of the funeral, her sick mother, and her unhappy siblings rush with fury through her head. She played with her hair, trying to be optimistic. At least I'm not an orphan...yet. Leah watched as a young, chubby Slytheryn stuffed his face with food. It made Leah smile, and giggle quietly.
Leah stared at the sparkly diamond ring her father once owned. Leah saw her reflection in her water and saw how depressed she looked. Her now straggly black hair hung in her face, black make up surrounded her golden eyes. Leah took her sleeve, wiped the make up off, and tied her hair up. Leah smiled. This is how her father would of wanted her. Looked over toward Sr. Nickolas and smiled. He smiled back and flew off. Leah started eating and combing her hair with her fingers. She looked at her reflection through the water. She looked like the good old Leah. Happy and cheerful.

Nodding to Leah's reply she thought about her summer. Not much had actually happened. Maybe a few unfortunate events, not as bad as Leah's of course, but she had been grounded quite a few times. At school she had gotten used to doin gwhatever she felt like doing, not listening to her parents owls so when she had gotten back home she had a big listening problem. Looking back at Leah she remembered Morgan telling her about Leah's father. She had felt much sorrow. After hearing this she had thought about what if her own father had died. That would have been horrible.
Trying to smile at Leah Arden took another bite of her food and laughed at the same time as Leah as a young, chubby Slytheryn stuffed his face with food. This usually was a funny site seeing as a lot of the Slytherin's were chubby already and to see them stuff their face made it even more funny.

Post by Peeves the Poltergeist on Sept 18, 2006 22:19:28 GMT
For once Peeves didn't make a dramatic entrance. On this mission of mischief he would achieve success by stealth! He had disguised himself with a lot of pan lids; they were all flying away from the food they'd been keeping warm which the students were just starting on, and now they were making a... minor detour. So Peeves did not look like Peeves the Poltergeist (if he ever looked like himself) - today he looked like a tornado of pan lids. Novel approaches to... existence, that was what he specialised in! Oh yes... and mischief. Hovering over the Gryffindor table, Peeves suddenly revealed himself (as if the somewhat strange phenomenon had not been recognised for its true horror already) as two pan lids clashed together as cymbals and the rest clattered straight into the plates of carefully prepared food, sending it splattering everywhere. All over those newly cleaned robes. Peeves cackled in delight.
"Ah... how moving, stirring, heart-rending. All these new ickle firsties, gathered here especially to meet me," he said, his voice ringing out across the Hall. But there wasn't time for any long speeches; the Bloody Baron would be stopping him soon if he didn't have his fun now. "I thought I'd just spice things up a bit." Hovering over some students who must be in the middle of their schooling years now judging by the number of times he'd played pranks on them before, he let loose the bags of powdered chile pepper that he'd brought with him (nice and red as was befitting for the house that received the honour) and zoomed off quickly before he could be apprehended, cackling louder than ever. It would cause trouble, but they wouldn't be rid of him, not ever (what would Hogwarts be without Peeves the Poltergeist after all?) and that amount of fun had been well worth it.

Feeling the presence of someone above her Arden glanced up quickly, unfortunately all she saw was chili pepper falling towards her Leah and a few other people. Cursing she glared as she saw Peeves glide away. Glancing at Leah she wondered what Peeve's was thinking. He always tried to get everyones' attention and then ruin it bye being extremely rude. Looking around she saw many Slytherins' pointing and laughing at her and another victim of Peeves. Pulling out her wand she sent the Slytherins a hand gesture before waving it at herself.
Cleaning her seat up some she looked at Leah. Thinking for a moment Arden cleaned up the rest of the floor so that no one else had to and then sat down and took of a sip of her re-knewed glass of juice. Trying not to laugh and embarass herself anymore than when she had had pepper dumped on her head.
