Jordan was a seventh year. A seventh year. She giggled at the thought of one more year at Hogwarts. One more year of professors, of tests, of…Hogwarts. It wasn’t that she didn’t love Hogwarts, she did; she adored it. It was just… well, over all without the whole magical thing – Hogwarts was just another school. Students got grades like in muggle school, and professors did everything they could to make life a living horror movie. It was the same. Though, Jordan wouldn’t trade it for muggle school in any lifetime. Especially since Hogwarts is where she had met Dillion, and that was the one person she adored most – aside from her family. What would she do after Hogwarts if Dillion went off somewhere else? Jordan forbade herself to think of such a thing.
As she watched the first years being sorted, she cheered along with everyone else in Hufflepuff, thoughts whirled around in her mind and made her head ache. She looked to her left at Dillion, a smile crept on her face and she then turned her attention back to the front as Dumbledore began to speak. When he was done, food appeared on the empty plates around them and Jordan reached for a little bit of everything that looked desirable. Soon enough, things were stacked on her plate and her goblet was filling with some yummy grape flavoured juice. She took a sip and turned back to Dillion, wondering what he planned on doing after Hogwarts. They hadn’t really talked about it all that much. It was as if it was so far off. Boy, were they in for a rude awakening when it happened.
Jordan swirled some weird looking noodle around on her fork before actually speaking, her words directed to Dill; “It’s our last year… Kind of weird, isn’t it?”

"Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy-Woggy Hogwarts..." Dillion sang as he sat at the Hufflepuff table. Lots of new people. Never paid lots of attention to new people. Had all people he needed right here. All life needed was Payton and Jordan. Them and he be happy forever. When sorting came cheered loudly, clapping, yelling "HUFFLEPUFF!" as loud as could. Happy to have Huffies! Huffie bestest house ever. Finally best part came: FOOD! Was loading plate when Jordan say something. Jordan sit beside, always sit beside. Always, always always. "Hmm? Last year? Oh lest. Last year! We sevenths now! Sevenths! Sevenths! Sevenths! Fun fun fun! Hmm, wait weird. Sort of weird. No more Hogwarts after this. Strange not to come back. Always come back, well , not always, seven years come back over and over and over and over and over and over, now no more coming back. Be sad. No more Hogwarts. No more school...wait...no more school! No more reading or work or studies or marks! Me like that!"

Jordan offered Dillion a small smile as he rambled, but it wasn't really rambling if his sentences made sense. Which, for once, they did. Jordan had some people come up to her and ask her more than once how she could understand what Dillion was getting at with how much he rambled, and she would smile and shrug while saying that it was Dillion - she loved him and because of that, she understood him. Of course, they didn't know what kind of love she meant. Not that Jordan loved Dillion anymore than a friend, she just...had a slight 'crush' on him as her friends had put it. She had known him for the most important years of her life, and that was something that made her rely on him to be happy. Although she knew it was bad, Jordan couldn't help it. What would she do if Dill just suddenly wasn't there? She shook her head, throwing the thoughts out of her mind and reached for her juice which she took a drink of before replying to the very hyperactive boy beside her.
"Maybe no more marks, no more work, for you. But if I can do what I plan on doing, I'll be stuck with marks, work, and school for the rest of my life." She added a groan for that effect and took a bite of her noodles. Teaching was something she had always thought would be fun to do. She loved tutoring younger years, and she thought maybe she would like to do teaching because of that. The fact of the matter was, Jordan needed to grow up a bit before she could do that. And even then... it was weird to think of doing something that involved school. People, generally, leave school and don't return. Jordan, if getting a job here, would return and return and return.

Hardly finished his sentence before he started shoveling food into his mouth. Didn't know what it was. Didn't care. It tasted good. Nothing else important. Was chewing as Jordan talk more. When she said no more marks for him, he gave big toothy smile filled with his half chewed food. She then said more marks for her. Took moment to remember. Forgot what Jordan wanted to do, but only for moment! Remembered very soon! "Bad future. Need good future. Work for Zonkos! That fun! Jordan move with me to Hogsmead and we work in Zonkos! Good times! Much more fun than marks and school and bad stuff like that. No more marks or papers or OWLS and NEWTS, we play with fireworks forever and life be wonderful because how life not be wonderful when all you do is play with fireworks. Unless fireworks not go off, then not so fun. But fireworks go off an have candy even better than just fireworks! It be fun! See, no school! Fireworks! I have grand plan! Bestest plan ever!" Finished talking and start eating. Food yummie, want to easy lots of food. Whole summer no Payton and Payton good cook, means no good food. Not though, ogwarts have good food all time! Lots of eating to catch up on!

Jordan looked at him, her eyes wide as she shook her head. How could he actually believe life was going to be like that after Hogwarts? And for the first time since she had met Dillion, she realized just how much of a kid he really was. How much he really didn’t care about life after Hogwarts, and how much Payton really took care of him. Jordan sighed and brushed her hair out of her eyes before replying to Dillion’s response; “Life’s not just about fun, Dillion. Sometimes you have to sit down, and think about what you are going to do. What’s best for you. If you can work and still be able to do the things you love. How much your job or your career will give you. Will you be able to live off that? Things like that. It’s a part of growing up. It’s not necessarily the fun part, but it’s a part of it. And that’s what made me decide to go into teaching. I love helping others, and I know it – for the most part- will prepare me and help me later on in life.” She sent him a look and then took a bite of her ham. She sat in silence for a bit and then she couldn’t take it anymore, “We aren’t in Neverland,” she whispered. Then she continued to eat.

He tiled his head while he listened to her, trying to ignore how loud it was to chew. Hard to focus when you were chewing, and had too much in mouth not to chew. At least not crunchy stuff. That would make it even harder to listen, be so loud! Can't listen when its loud...oh wait! Jordan still talking. Try very hard to listen. Jordan be all serious. Serious Jordan less fun. Prefer not serious Jordan. Not serious Jordan very fun. Finished chewing this time. Mum N. always say to talk with mouth full. "I do think about growing up. I think it no fun and I think for the rest of my life I play with fireworks. I make living off it. I find someone who need to fire firework setter-offer, and I be set for life! That new plan! I make millions! I be wealthiest firework setter-offer int he world. It be brilliant and you set fireworks off with me. It be wonderful! We have best time ever, play fireworks all day. Zonko's hire us. Me know it. It be great future and we be together. Pay not come too though. Pay move to Italy after school, bit plan. Want to study something no fun. No marks or papers for him hough. Better than more school, but still no fun. Not fun like fireworks. Ne need to come with us and set fireworks off!"

Sometimes, Jordan just wanted to look at Dill seriously and ask him in a tone of voice that was one she had never used with him before, "Do you see me? Who I am? How old I am? What I look like? Or do you still see that third year who was only cute? Do you still see the little girl who tagged along with you to shoot off fireworks or make it rain frogs at dances? Because that's not me. That's not who I am. I've grown up. But I stay with you because I love you, and you're everything to me." But did she ever have the nerve to do that? No. Did she think Dillion would completely understand what she was saying? No. So she kept her mouth shut in a tight smile and nodded and laughed with him when it was appropriate. It wasn't like she was completely fake around him, she could never be fake around Dill - but more of she was like she was in third year than she is now in her seventh year. Dillion seemed to be oblivious to anything but fun - and that included the maturity of Jordan.
She smiled brightly at her best-friend and nodded, "Sure, Dill. We'll shoot off fireworks for a living and we'll be billionaires." Her eyes twinkled with amusement but the twinkle went out as she took a sip of her juice. What would happen when school was over...? When she told Dillion she was going to start teaching someplace else....? Would he realize anything then? Or would he still be as oblivious as ever before?
