Solaro flicked the page of a book she was deeply engaged in. She looked up at the gossiping crowd, all telling each other the latest trend and chatting away about gossip around the school... Solaro felt a pang in her chest, why didn't she have any friends, no she thought she didn't need them, she had books, but it would be nice to be able to talk to someone, she gave in to her own thoughts. OK she did need a friend but after 3 years at hogwarts not having any friends how was she supposed to make some now.

Solaro sat in a daydream thinking of what it would be like to have friends. Hoping that she wouldn't have to make the first move...

Ashakiran decided to try being nice not superior for once and see how it went, as she walked across the courtyard she noticed a couple of people everywhere and some pulling people to somewhere more private to kiss. Ash couldn't help herself she snickered and smirked as one fell over pulling somewhere obviously lost in romantic dreams, she didn't find kissing gross at all but it did look funny.
She looked around and saw what looked like a 3rd year Gryffindor, OK she had decided to be nice for a little bit but being nice to a Gryffindor might just be pushing the limits, still what harm would trying do?
"Hi, I'm Ashakiran" with a wince she added "you can call me Ash, if you'd like." keeping her voice friendly and sounding sincerely nice wasn't hard, after all she was good at misdirection and pretending to be someone she wasn't, though she wasn't really being someone she wasn't, just trying to be nice.
"What's your name?"

((OOC-i noticed Ash and Solaro were the same age do you want to set something up? They could endup being friends, just a suggestion.))

Solaro looked up slightly taken aback by the sudden apperance of the girl. "Hi... I'm Solaro..... Solaro Beam" Solaro's wishes always came true... she knew that if you thought possitive.. it happened. She smiled back down at her book... she found this girl funny. She seemed stuck up it was strange to see her on her own... oh and she was a Slytherin. "You know I think you need to improve on your convincing nice voice" Solaro said in a perfectly nice voice, "but if you really are trying it would be nice to have some company for a while... but if your friends come then tell them to go away.. I can't be bothered with sarcastic Slytherins" Solaro shut her book and looked up again. She gazed at Ash, what a strange face... with a inner giggle she thought it could be because of the years of imbreading so they could stay pure-blood, the typical Slytherin...

to Ashakiran's relief the girl actually replied,she wasn't going to miss an obvious chance
"yeah, my nice voice, guess i do", what a relief she didn't tell her to go away!
"So, um, as you probably noticed i don't usually be nice and friendly to Gryffindors, in fact i usually curse them with a smirk that they can't stop it" Ash suddenly realized the girl might think she was about to curse her "but i won't curse you, i like you" she really wasn't good at this Nice-To-Gryffindors thing, "what's your name?"
would she ever be able to be nice? probably it just took practice, she'd just never even tried.
"DAD!" she suddenly exclaimed what was HE going to say about this if he found out, she wouldn't tell him of course but he might Legillimise her,
"oh no" she groaned then realized the girl would probably be confused, that would be hard not to smirk at but she probably could manage........

"ha"..Solaro couldn't help but laugh at Ash's atempts to be friendly.. "your going to have to practise hard because smirking at the people you are trying to make friends with... well... could give people the wrong impresion" Ash seemed to be bursting to say something nasty, but she held back... but why would suddenly relveal that she wasn't going to curse her... suppose it's just the Gryffindor Slythering thing Solaro thought.
She thought she might try assuring this edgy Ash girl to "oh by the way I couldn't curse you even if I wanted to, some 4th year Slytherins broke my wand earlier.... oh well I suppose I have enough m,oney to pay for it anyway, Oh and as for the whats my name thing... I already told you... but I don't mind.. I just think it's funny" Solaro looked down at her book "do you remember Dumbledore's start of term speech... he talked about.. well.. interhouse unity... I was just thinking we could try making an example for others by being...... friends" Solaro hadn't proved very good at making friends in the past.. she had probably just scared this girl off.. quick she thought try and get this girl back...." oh and I don't mind that your a Slytherin, I think everyone deserves at least one chance" now that just sounded desperate.. oh well she tried...

Ash grinned as the girl fumbled for words,
"i guess we could try, you seem different to SOME Gryffindors" she rolled her eyes, yesterday she had encountered a gryffindor second year who was trying to be cool and thought being cool included being typicaly Gryffindor to a Slytherin Gandhi. Idiot.
"oh and as for the nice voice thing, it's actually kind of hard when you've never done it in your life" she ended up sounding a little sarcastic, she didn't mind that, but she did mind she just let it slip she actually never tried to be nice
"i'm friendly to my sister Dee, you might know her,as Deeba" she paused "but being nice to her is, well different to being nice in other peoples point of view"

"oh, you're probably confused about me exlaiming Dad then oh no but you might get it, that's why I smirked by the way, it's funny in a not-so-nice way when others are confused, well I think so anyway." she looked up "Solaro?"

"hehehe coolio.. I haven't really had very many friends here... but oh well" Solaro.... had a friend... wow... now what to do. She hadn't had a friend for so long she didn't really know how to be friends anymore.... she hoped Ash knew more about friendship than she did

Ash could tell Solaro wanted her (ash) to know more about friendship then she (Solaro) did. Fat chance of that. Of a Gryffindor friendship anyway, she knew a fair bit about Slytherin ones, but the two friendships were VERY different.
"I don't really have friends here either," Ash agreed.

Solaro looked back down at her book and started to read: Long days past between the battle and the glory, for most the death toll was so high it could not be coun.... "Hey... "said a voice breaking her concentration. She looked up, blinked, surprised to see that Ash was standing infront of her, was she still there? "ehm hi ... I have to finish this book by tomorrow... do you mind if I just get on with it??" Solaro looked at the book, then up again, why was she still standing there. It is very difficult to read while someone is watching you. Solaro slammed her book shut, "It is rude to stare!!!". The girl Ash was staring apparently lost for words. Then Solaro remembered something.."we were having a conversation weren't we". Ash nodded. Maby that was a reson Solaro had so few friends, every time she made a new one she forgot who they were. "Oh eh... I'm sorry, I forgot we were talking... sorry"

"just to warn you, I'm about to smirk, don't get the wrong idea that I think you're a geek or anything" Ash smirked at Solaro, she couldn't help herself but she didn't want to give the girl the wrong idea about why she was smirking,
"for future reference, don't think it's anything bad if i smirk, sneering on the other hand........" she trailed off, "sometimes it doesn't mean bad, just don't ever run off like you did just then, there's more to me than you think," she paused, "okay?"
