Jack looked around at the groups clustered near the maze. There were some large kids, some short kids, some kids with halos and some with horns, but all of them had the same mingled expressions on their faces: one of curiosity and fear. For the most part, anyway. Some kids looked excited, some amused, some annoyed and others just plain disgusted. Most of the disgusted/annoyed ones consisted of the Slytherins and despite his Slytherin title, Jack found himself become annoyed with those people. Couldn't they at least drop the act and get into the spirit of Halloween? How many times would they get this chance to enjoy themselves? And had they no appreciation for the hard work of others? Jack had loved the maze idea the first time hearing about it and had worked hard to carry it out. This was what he got for all that hard work? Looks of annoyance and disgust? Perhaps if he hadn't realized the hard work gone into the maze he wouldn't have looked about it in the same manner, but that wasn't the case. After becoming Prefect, Jack had realized lots of things he hadn't before. He had always thought of Prefects as annoying people who thought themselves powerful and respected. Now that he was one, he knew why Prefects set off this image. They should be respected with what they do each day! What with patrolling the halls, taking and deducting points, caring for the wimpier kids and what not, Prefects deserved some respect. Jack expected that the Prefects for other Houses had gained this respect easily, but when it came to Slytherins... well, they were a whole different species. Jack briefly found himself wondering if Padme had made it the festivities. Lately he had started worrying about her, despite that little voice in his head convincing him otherwise. She was difficult to control and impossible to predict and that's what scared him. He knew that if he tried to interfere with her life he would be kicked right out again, so he didn't try. Him and Padme didn't go together. Never had and quite possibly never will. Sighing, Jack sat down in the grass, not bothering with a chair. A sharp wind tugged at his hair, chilling him quickly. Pulling his coat closer around him, Jack leaned back on his elbows and tried to stop the whirring thoughts buzzing about his head. Ones about Roger, Padme, Mack, Dixie, Tessa, and the future. It was strange for Jack to be thinking so deeply, but it had to happen sometime, and as he thought about all the different possibilities, he felt a strange emptiness surround him. A certain fear dwells inside him, even as a child, of what the future would possibly bring. Every day was a new chance, a new possibility, yet as a child he hadn't looked forward to what a new day would bring. Living with Roger had really put a hole in his life, separating him from others. Now he had to wonder if he would ever get the same chance others did. Jack's eyes were trained on the crowd even though he was hardly paying attention. Suddenly a flash of blond interrupted his thoughts, causing him to promptly sit up and scan the mass of bodies. Yes, there she was. Standing, Jack opened his mouth to call out to her, but another idea overpowered that one, and quite sneakily, he managed to blend in with the crowd. Cutting through people as swiftly and quietly as he could, Jack managed to get right up behind Mack. Then with a sudden burst of energy, he grabbed her around the stomach and lifted her into the air as much as he could without doing a back-bend. "Boo!" he whispered into her ear, setting her back on the ground. ((Title lacks inspiration, I know, but this post actually came quite smoothly. And I'm not sure if Jack is still an IC Prefect or not, but if he isn't, I can change it. I just felt it was a good topic for the post. ))

((*huggles* I'm sorry I couldn't get it up, but I know you understand. As for the Prefect thing, I think it's okay because Dana continued to be Prefect after she quit staff. Besides, two prefects per house... one boy and one girl, right? Well... ladeeda... lookie here. Isn't that weird. Anyway, love the post... made my day, really.)) Mack loved Halloween. She loved the whole idea of being someone you weren't on a regular basis. Sometimes she went all out on the holiday, others she just threw on some of her clothes and charmed them to appear different than they really were. One year, Mack even dressed up as a rock star. Now the idea was out of the question, considering Mack was already on her way to being just that. Tonight, however, Mack was Marilyn Monroe, a famous muggle actor who died sometime ago. Her hair was blonde enough for it, but it was far too long. She hadn't cut it when she dyed it, but looking at her finished costume in the mirror with her long mid back length hair, Mack decided it was time for another change. So, off went her hair. she cut it a little bit below her shoulders and curled it to perfection - topping off her costume. She wore a simple blacl dress that connected around her neck. It flowed a little past her knees and she wore black shoes with diamond clasps. Her lips were a bright cherry red and her blue eyes outlined with a silver-ish eyeliner. The only thing on her costume that even suggested she was Mack Holden, was her Prefect badge which she used as decoration on her hip, kind of like a belt that pulled one side of her dress to the other and made it that much more fashionable. She didn't know if any other Prefects were dressing up, but it was a tradition Mack wasn't about to break. So what if they didn't? She would be the only one in costume, and that didn't bother her. As Mack entered the dungeons where the maze was held, she took off her white cloak and handed it to the house elf who was taking them. She smiled down at him and then looked up again, making her way to the center of the room. There were so many people, and Mack felt overwhelmed with the responsibility. She continued to look around, maybe searching for Jack. But before she could turn around and look in the other direction, she felt someone's arms around her and pulling her up while saying boo. She screamed slightly and when Jack set her down, she turned on him and slapped him gently on the arm. "There's a reason why I'm not participating in the maze, you know, Jack Rendel. It's because I don't feel like getting the wits scared out of me." She sent him a reprimanding look and then threw her arms around his neck, pulling him into a hug. "Mmm..." she said as she pulled away, "You smell good..." Maybe she had just missed hugging him, or maybe she was just sick of the smell of her dormitory, whatever the reason. He did smell good, and Mack was never one to hide her thoughts... well, as long as they weren't terrible. She smiled at Jack once more before holding out her arms and doing a small twirl. "I thought I'd dress up. But it looks like I'm one of the few Prefects who did." To make her statement clear she looked to the left of her at a Ravenclaw prefect who hadn't worn anything for Halloween, just her robes. Mack narrowed her eyes and shook her head. Where was their spirit? She then looked back at Jack, "Now, don't tell me your costume... I'll guess it." She trailed her finger over his arm as she circled him, "I know. You're a grumpy old man." She teased. Mack stopped circling him and grinned again. Her eyes sparkling with laughter, "Well no matter what it is, it's scary enough. C'mon then, let's head to the party room. I have no desire to enter the maze when it's completely started. We'll just watch over those who are like me and are too chicken to enter it." Mack grabbed his hand and laced her fingers with his, leading him out of the mass of students who were waiting to enter and through the passage that led to the party after the maze. Once inside, Mack realized there weren't many people there yet. She sat down at one of the tables with a black lace tablecloth and waited for some of the volunteers to lead those who wished not to be frightened, into the less scary part of the maze. "It's dull over here..."

“But isn’t that what Halloween’s all about, Mackenzie?” he retorted, smiling. Jack wasn’t one for smiles, but around Mack it was nearly impossible not to. He just felt so light around her… so natural. He was pleasantly surprised when she hugged him, but the element of surprise wasn’t heavy enough to stop him from hugging her back. It was a gentle hug though so when she pulled back she had no resistance to encounter. “You smell good…” said Mack, causing Jack to grin. His eyes roved her face, taking in the make-up, the hair… “And you look good,” he replied, somehow finding the courage to say that. She did look good though…
“I didn’t expect you to be the sort of person who likes dressing up,” Jack said almost to himself. Realizing it sounded more like an insult than a comment, he immediately rephrased it; “I mean, I didn’t think you’d dress up tonight. But you look great.” He meant it too, but whether that got through to Mack he wasn’t sure. He rolled his eyes as she pretended to guess his costume. She concluded with him being a grumpy old man. “Might as well be,” Jack agreed, rubbing his hands together as they got chilled. He let Mack lead him away to what was the “safer” part of the maze. Seeing hardly anyone there, Jack wondered if he had made the wrong choice deciding not to enter the maze. Surely it must be some fun… He had only been to a maze once, and that had been when he was very small. Father had decided quickly that Halloween was a waste of the immense money he had and that it would be better spent on drinks and gambling.
He sat down opposite Mack and watched her finger the black tablecloth while he itched to do the same. It seemed like quite a while since he had talked to Mack, and although they still got on well, at moments Jack found the whole thing rather nerve-racking. Especially if it was quiet. “It’s dull over here…” Mack mentioned. Jack nodded hastily and looked around. “I’m sure there’s something we can do…” Though they had decorated the area with many things, Jack found the lights blurring as his eyes glazed over. Shooting a glance at Mack, he smiled. “Did I mention that I liked your hair yet?” he asked. “Because I do.” Looking at her made him think of an idea, though it involved only him. The more he thought about it, the more appealing it became until Jack couldn’t resist any longer.
“I’ll be right back,” he said, standing and giving Mack a smile. “Really, I will.” Hoping she trusted him, Jack walked out and continued to walk until he reached the lake. The moonlight was reflecting in its waters, so he managed to see some of his reflection, though the little ripples that played across the surface was an annoyance, to be sure. Grinning mischievously, Jack remembered a spell his father had taught him back when things hadn’t been so harsh. It was a spell he had used during his stay at Hogwarts to prank the simple-minded, or so went his explanation. Jack didn’t at all think of Mack as a simpleton; he thought she was very clever. But that didn’t mean it couldn’t work on her. Rolling up his sleeve to expose his arm, Jack murmured an enchantment, tapped his skin, and felt a chill run up his arm from the point that he had touched. It continued throughout his entire body until he was shivering, but when he looked into the lake and saw only water, he realized it had worked.
Though it isn’t exactly pleasant to think about, Jack felt as if his skin had a layer of slime on it and it slowly seemed to seep into his skin. It was uncomfortable, to put it lightly, but he knew no other way to create invisibility. Moving quickly, Jack went back to where Mack was sitting and hid behind a tree, forgetting his invisibility. Then, stepping out into the open, Jack crept up toward Mack, not caring when a few twigs snapped. When he got up close, he swept down on her and picked her up, hoping she wouldn’t squirm too much. His arms started to ache from holding her, but he wasn't quite done yet. Grinning, he bent down close to her ear and whispered, “Guess who?”
((Yes, I know that in this thread Jack has been plotting to scare Mack the whole time, but I simply didn't know any other way to make my post interesting, and I didn't want to leave the plot going no where, so here we are. Hope you enjoy. ;D ))

Mack grinned, “I like to dress up sometimes. I just have to be in the mood for it.” Her grin widened into a smile, it was true. She did like to dress up. Actually, when she was on tour two summers ago she loved the idea of dressing up for parties and such that she had to attend. It was the girl part of her. Yes, Mack had a girl part, as much as she liked being casual and not worrying about her hair or her makeup, she was still a girl. Sometimes, she liked to just dress up to feel pretty. But that was a secret she had told no one. Not even Jack, in fact, she wondered what he would think if she told him that small secret. Mack sent Jack a sideways glance, “If you’d rather we patrol the maze, we can. I just don’t particularly like things popping out at me and whatnot.” She shrugged, if he wanted to patrol the maze, she would do it in a heartbeat; although half of her was hoping he said no it was fine they could watch the dance. They were already sitting down, and he had agreed on how dull it was, but he also put an optimistic note in by saying there has to be something they could do. To that, she shrugged and looked toward the door as two girls walked in.
“Hum? Oh, no you haven’t, but thanks.” Mack replied as he complimented her hair. She had achieved her goal. She had hoped he would like it; after all she did it partly for him. Her gaze had traveled to the two girls who had entered a few seconds before, but Jack brought it back to him when he said he would be right back. Her eyebrow rose, but he assured he would and Mack nodded. She believed him, of course, because she trusted him. She turned her attention back to the girls, and that was when she saw they were dancing. One of the girls had done something so they were dancing on clouds of stars. Mack smiled wistfully and continued to watch them. She felt like she was intruding on something sacred, but she didn’t look away. It was too sweet and too romantic to not watch. It was where her attention was when she felt something grab her from behind. Her mouth opened into a small ‘o’ shape and a gasp escaped from her. It was then she heard a voice whisper in her ear, “Guess who?”
She was frozen for a moment and then she smiled, “Could it be a grumpy old man named Jack?” She looked to where his head might be and gasped again, nothing was there. Yet she could still feel him there, his arms around her. Taking a deep breath, she twisted so she was facing, well hoped she was facing, Jack. He wasn’t much taller than her, especially with the heels she was wearing now. Closing her eyes, she imagined him in front of her and then leaned up a little, planting on a kiss on what felt like his lips. She wasn’t wearing any lipgloss or lipstick so he didn’t need to worry about that. Mack stood there for a few moments, and then pulled away, slapping him in the stomach playfully. “Never scare me like that, ever again. I might have to use a jynx next time.” She warned, a grin on her lips.

((Thanks for those pictures, I really appreciate that. And your posts are never too short; I just enjoy your replies. )) Jack's arms continued to scream from the strain of holding Mack up. It wasn't her weight that was causing the problem (though he was grateful she couldn't see his face screwed up in pain, just in case she believed differently) but his own weakness. Despite the problem occurring, he grinned so widely he felt as if his face would crack in two. Mack appeared to have gotten quite a scare, though she got over it and began teasing his again. "Stop calling me that!" Jack whined, pretending to be hurt. "Or I'll call you a delusional old lady," he added with a mischievous grin. He had expected Mack to squirm quite a bit, or to scream, or hit him and make a scene, or even become angry with him, but he never expected what she did next, though it was better than all the other possibilities. When she pulled away, Jack was grinning rather stupidly, glad once again that he was invisible. "Hey now, if you do that every time I scare you, what will one more time hurt?" he teased. Rubbing his hands together, Jack looked down at himself... or where he would be. It was strange to see nothing where you know you are, if that makes any sense. But it makes you feel so empty, so utterly desolate. That's why Jack hardly used this little trick, though he had thought the little prank on Mack would be far worth it. "Do you like my costume?" he asked, waving his hands about grandly, forgetting for a moment he couldn't be seen. "I'm as light as the air, as clear as water, and happy enough to nearly burst," he explained, feeling giddy. Then, restraining himself, Jack bit his lip and shrugged. "It's a little trick Roger taught me when I was younger. I would teach you but... it's a family secret," he said, with a smile. Taking out his wand, which was being held by what seemed to be thin air, Jack whispered an incantation under his breath, careful so Mack wouldn't hear. He then tapped different parts of his invisible self, starting with each shoe, then his legs, stomach, arms, shoulders, neck and head. It felt as if he had splashed cool water all over himself, so Jack soon began shivering, despite the jacket offering its warmth. "Well... that certainly was interesting," he admitted, crossing his arms in an attempt to warm up. As he did so, he caught a glimpse of his surroundings, which had changed some. Two girls were dancing on what appeared to be clouds. Jack continued to stare rather openly until he realized he was doing so and abruptly turned back to Mack. "Looks like they have the right idea," Jack said, nodding toward them. He then took Mack's hand and led her near to where the two were dancing. "Would you agree to dance with this grumpy old man?" he asked, grinning.

“Grumpy old man, grumpy old man.” Mack sing songed, a teasing smile remaining on her face. When he said he would call her a delusional old lady, Mack shut up, a glare penetrating him playfully. “That’s not fair. I’m not delusional, but you can be very grumpy.” She nodded as if that confirmed everything about anything. When Jack said if she did that every time what would one more scare hurt, Mack nearly laughed out loud. She wanted to say he didn’t have to scare her to get a kiss, but she didn’t have the nerve to say that. “Jack, I said I might have to use a jynx next time…it’ll be a pick and choose thing. So you might want to pick and choose your battles.” It was so weird to talk to Jack when she couldn’t see him. The only thing that kept her aware that he was actually there was his voice and the fact that she could feel his breathing. Mack laughed when he asked her if she liked his costume. “I think I prefer the grumpy old man one.”
“Oh, family secret family schmecret. I have tons of family secrets I’ve told you. That’s alright, though Jack-Jack, I think I’ll live without becoming invisible.” She smiled and shook her head, why in the world anyone would want to be invisible was beyond her. Well, except to scare innocent girls who aren’t expecting it. “It’s actually kind of really creepy talking to you without seeing you. Though, I suppose that’s the way phones are used.. but knowing that you’re right in front of me without being able to see you is really creepy.” Mack shuddered. It fit Halloween, and that was most likely what Jack was going for. She watched as his wand seemed to float in thin air, and then he started to become visible. Mack grinned as he shivered, “We’ll get you some butterbeer, and it should warm you up.” She followed his gaze to the two dancing girls, watching them for awhile. She knew although they looked so happy, that soon rumors would fly and probably end up tearing them apart. Their happiness would end.
An abrupt action caused Mack to jump quickly; she looked at Jack as he said they looked like they had the right idea. When he took her hand and led her to the dance floor, Mack smiled. “Well, I don’t know. I think it’s more dangerous for you to dance with a delusional old woman. After all, I might end up having some strange delusions and hurt you.” Nevertheless, Mack slipped into Jack’s arms and allowed herself to be lead across the dance floor.

"Yeah, but this is different," Jack protested, feeling a guilty flutter in his stomach for not telling Mack, though she said she didn't care. "It's like a hand-down thing. Father gives to son, son gives to his son... you get the picture." He shrugged. "I hardly ever use it anyway." Jack looked down as Mack admitted it was creepy talking to him without seeing him. "Just imagine how it feels to be here but not really be here," he added, grinning. "It's really weird but I think it was worth it. Besides, it's Halloween, and I felt left out. Your costume is so great and I'm just the same old grumpy man," he said. He nodded empathetically about getting a butterbeer. He could feel the warmth from the drink seeping down through him now, leaving the chill behind while tasting very good. "A butterbeer sounds great." When Jack had found a suitable place for them to dance, he let go of Mack. "I think I'll get that butterbeer now," Jack said, nodding his head toward the tables. "I don't want to be having a seizure while dancing." Moving toward the tables, Jack found a butterbeer that was probably someone else's, but he fixed that with his wand. Sipping from his newly sanitary butterbeer, Jack kept his eyes on Mack. She looked very pretty in her costume, though Jack could imagine her looking just as pretty in normal attire. The butterbeer did its job quickly and Jack felt more alive than ever that evening. Walking back to Mack, he shot another glance at the two girls. "Do you know them?" Jack asked in a whisper. He sighed; "The girl with red hair looks familiar but I dunno... They look so happy..." Jack tore himself away from them and turned his attention to Mack. "So they're dancing on clouds," he mused. "What should we dance on?" He looked about the area for inspiration, but found none. Frowning slightly, Jack racked his mind for something that would be just as nice as clouds with stars and immediately something came to mind. Taking out his wand, Jack conjured up a rainbow that was rather wide so they'd have room to dance and he made it glow, casting color in all the shadows around them. "There we are," he said, grinning. He looked at Mack, who's face was a combination of green and purple and his grin widened. ((Short and I kind of left it hanging, but I have to go right now and that's all you get from me. ))

Mack smirked, “Don’t worry about it; there are things that I haven’t told you. So there is no need to get flustered.” She hadn’t meant to make him feel bad or guilty or anything in any sense. She was just teasing him. Mack bit her lip and smiled as he said he was going to get that butterbeer. She felt a bit awkward standing on the dance floor and not dancing. Her eyes traveled back to the girls, who seemed to still be lost in their own world. By now some more students had arrived and were watching them from the door, laughing and giggling. She shook her head; some people just didn’t get it. She watched them for a bit, and then had the eerie feeling she was being watched. Mack slowly turned her head and saw Jack watching her. A blush rose to her cheeks and she shifted her weight from one foot to another. Her hand went to her hair as well, tucking back a stray strand; she wanted to be perfect… was that so wrong? Before she could think on it, Jack had returned and was asking if she knew the two girls.
“Uh, nope. Well, actually, the girl with darker hair is a Ravenclaw sixth year by the name of Mykaela, I believe. There are a lot of rumors about her, and I’m pretty sure she’s openly gay. The other girl, though… I can’t put my finger on who she is. I’m sure we’ve seen her around though, possibly even had some classes with her.” She shifted her eyes to the two girls again and shrugged at his they look happy comment. “It won’t last long; the school will eat them up. They’re already starting the rumor mill,” Mack nodded toward the door and all the other students gathering and watching them. She shook her head in disappointment and turned her attention back to Jack as he asked what they should dance on. She raised her eyebrow in amusement and watched as he conjured a rainbow below them. A large smile crossed her face, “Rainbows aren’t very Halloween festive, Jack-Jack.” Nevertheless, she looked down at the floor beneath her, it was lovely.
“It’s beautiful, though.” She spoke just as the music seemed to change. The two girls left the dance floor, heading over toward the food. Mack smiled softly as all the other students seemed to rush in and grab tables, as if there weren’t enough for a group of four at each table. “Shall we?’ Mack asked in a whisper, her blue eyes refocusing on Jack.
((Don’t worry about it, it was a lovely post regardless of it’s abrupt ending [which wasn’t all that abrupt].))

"Oh, right." Jack looked at the girl's again, this time in a somewhat different perspective. He had been brought up a prejudiced and despite his efforts to change, Jack couldn't see beyond some things. Mack was right in saying this girl was openly gay and that her name was Mykaela. All the rumors he had heard came rushing back to him now, in full force. He inhaled deeply as he tried to see past that, but all he seemed to see was how wrong that seemed. Yet being a mudblood was wrong, being a half-blood was wrong, and being a pureblood with an inflated head was wrong. Jack knew all these things, and the only thing that could be helped out of them all was the inflated head thing. He remembered how he had remarked how happy the two girls looked, and Jack bit back his tongue from saying anything rash about them. They were happy, which was something he had searched for a long time, and still had trouble with. If they were happy, then good for them. Jack turned back to Mack.
"I'm glad they're happy then," he said. "They'll need something to help them through the tough time ahead." For again, Mack was right in saying that rumors were flying; the people in the area were watching the girls with cruel eyes and curled lips of open emotion. A shivery feeling erupted in Jack's stomach as the girl's went to sit down and everyone began rushing to seats. Now they would be the main entertainment in the room. Already the rainbow had caught a lot of stares, and some of the people Jack knew. He wasn't a big fan of getting up in front of crowds, and this certainly was even worse. Dancing in front of people on a rainbow? Mack's words made him lose his worry though, and he smiled.
"That's okay," he replied. "No one seems to care, though they do seem to think we're some sort of entertainers." He sighed. "Now that the two girls are down, they'll be watching us, probably gossiping about how I step on your toes..." He grinned. "So if I do, don't make it that obvious," he added, though he was entirely joking. His father would rather be publicly embarrassed than have his son be publicly humiliated because he didn't know how to dance. Jack knew how, but the whole fact was he didn't like people watching him. Not one bit. "Yes we shall," he answered, a small smile still lingering on his face. He paused a second to listen to the song playing, which happened to be a slower one. He wasn't a particular fan of those, but it would have to do, since it had just started.
Putting his hands on Mack's waist, he began to dance, and dance, and dance some more. Soon the faces of the gossipers began to blur and fade and his only focus was on Mack's face and the song. Jack felt like all the burdens he had carried on his shoulders being lifted until he felt as light as when he had been invisible, only this was for a different reason. Lots of people told of being so happy nothing could truly bother you, yet Jack had never truly believed in that. Sure he had been happy many times, but not blissfully happy like this. His problems had always lingered in the back of his mind, but now they vanished, leaving only the bane of his happiness: Mack. All too soon the song was over, and Jack was left standing there, disappointed that it had ended. Along with the fading notes of the music, his happiness soon leaked away, leaving him slightly dizzy.
"Let's sit down. I'm starved," Jack said, grabbing Mack's hand and leading her away. Many people were watching them and talking too, but Jack no longer cared. Maybe when the last of the happiness left him he would, but for now it was only an annoyance. Finding an empty table, Jack sat down and smiled at Mack. "So how did you like dancing on a rainbow?" he asked, curiously wondering if she had enjoyed it as much as he had.

Mack watched as Jack's view of the girls seemed to change right before her eyes. She raised her eyebrows sharply and then shook her head. It didn't matter if he was being prejudiced, it wasn't like he had to go and be best friends with them. Mack sighed as he said they had a tough time ahead of them, she simply nodded in agreement. They did, that wasn't a lie. Mack knew how hard of a time they had ahead of them. Jack hadn't said anything nasty about them, but if he had Mack knew that others were saying things as well. Jack was sweet, and if he could say something mean about them being together - someone who was the meanest person of all time could say something ten times worse. Mack shoved the thoughts from her mind, determined to be happy tonight. After all, why would she be upset when she was with Jack, having the best time she'd had in ages? Her eyes remained on Jack as he talked about people not caring and them being the only ones on the dance floor now. She grinned, "I don't think it matters Jack-Jack. If they want to watch, let them watch. The only one who will care if you step on my toes will be me." Her grin turned into a false frown, "So you better not step on them." She smiled brightly again as they fell into the dancing position. Mack wrapped her arms around his neck and started to dance.
She got lost in her own world while they were dancing. She forgot they were dancing on a rainbow and she forgot they were at Hogwarts. It was just Jack and her and she was soaring. Or at least, it felt like she was soaring. Looking into his eyes, she felt a chill run down her spine and root itself in her heels before launching back up her spine to her brain. Her stomach flew with dozens of butterflies and her heart was pounding ten times harder than it did normally. Her palms being to sweat, and she clasped both of her hands together while they remained around Jack's neck. She took a deep breath, calming her nerves and it worked for a bit. Mack's eyes were locked on Jack's as they danced. A certain song came to mind as they danced across the rainbow. She walks on the moonlit snow. She´s winterhearted, so you say. But you don´t see. She´s a dancer on the glass. That´s broken like her past. She would never flee. Fascination is her name. She is dancing in the wind. Almost dancing everything. Every moment of her life . She is taking me with her. With the music in her heart. She is breaking every ice. Mack hadn't realized she had started singing, but when she did - she stopped and smiled softly.
The dancing was over all too soon and was led off the dance floor by Jack grabbing her hand. She followed and sat down at the table again. He asked her how she liked dancing on a rainbow, but before she could answer food appeared in front of them. Mack smiled and popped a green grape into her mouth. She chewed it, savoring the taste and then swallowed before answering. "It was an experience I will never forget, I'll tell you that much." She popped another grape in her head and leand forward, her elbows perched gently on the table. "Tell me, Jack-Jack. Did you enjoy dancing on rainbows?"
