Patricia was tired and she walked the halls powdering on what to do. She missed her family, Her sister, and her mother.
Once again her holidays were cut short. As they were every year. Her mother and father would always fight. Especially her father. How he would yell at her and her sister. But there was always one day were there family wasn’t at war. And she missed that. She walked. All around the school that day from place to place. Looking at the different classrooms. Thinking about her younger sister mostly, Sierra. She was different from her family, Patricia thought. “She is nothing like Father, and nothing like mum. She is to good”
She then stopped and pulled a picture out of her pocket. It had her and her sister, her mother, and father as well and they looked happy. Patricia smiled as the picture waved at her.
And then memories came flooding back of the holiday
Her father was sitting at the head of the table While her and sister were laughing and her mother was sitting at her fathers side eating. “So how is Hogwarts this year, Patricia” her father asked. “Fine” she kept giggling with Sierra. And her Father gave her an eye-piercing glance. “Sir’’ she gulped. “Well” he huffed while tossing his napkin on the plate. “What is it dear’’ asked her mother with deep concern. While placing her hand on his. He shoved it off hard “Well father sure is angry” Sierra whispered in Patricia’s ear. He shot his head forward. “What is that you said Sierra?” he said very stern to the little girl. “Nothing father”
He shot out of his chair about to hit the child when Patricia’s mother stood in for her Fierce, like a mother bear protecting her cub
“ALEXIE…THAT IS ENOUGH…..it” He glared at her “…it is after all th-the holidays” she said trembling “ARE TELLING ME WHAT TO DO?” he yelled. Walking over to her, in her face as she was leaning back, out of fear. “I-I-I I just thought-“ “Well you thought wrong didn’t you!” He yelled
A big fight broke out between her parents while Patricia and Sierra ran up stares to her room and Patricia held Sierra close to her, while she sobbed and they could hear there parents fighting, and screaming. And then it all went silent.
Her Memory faded back to reality and she held the picture close, while tears trickle down.
Patricia looked back at the picture. “ I promise Sierra I will take care of you” she held the picture close to her heart. And fell back to the wall of the hallway and slid down to the floor. “If only I didn’t have to leave so soon”
She cried softly on the picture. When she heard someone coming. She sniffled and wiped away her tears. She slipped the picture back into her pocket of her robes and stood up. “Who is it, who is there? Hello”

Richard walked down the long, wide halls, wondering where on earth he was. He had been at this school for three years and he still didn't know his way around it. Turning a corner, he spotted a girl sitting in the hall. He froze. Should he walk away? Should he keep going? Richard hated being this shy. As soon as he saw another person, especially a girl, his heart beat faster and he could barely speak properly. He didn't want to interrupt this girl if she wanted to be alone, but his parents had taught him never to be rude. So, swallowing his timidity, he walked slowly up, preparing to say hello. "Just say hello. It's easy. Hell-o. Two syllables," he thought, licking his hips. A lock of sandy blonde hair fell into his eye, and he pushed it back. Just as he was about to say something, in what he hoped was a confident tone, the girl stood up and said something. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt you, I'm Richard Dermont," Richard stammered softly. He then paused. The girl looked as if she had been crying. "Are you alright? I mean, I don't mean to intrude, but is there anything I can do?" Richard's shyness disappeared to concern as he walked over to her.

Patricia felt incredibly akward. She has never cried infront of anyone except, Rachel, and infront of a boy no less. Her face turned bright red and her golden locks covered most of her face as she tried to hide behind them.
Patricia looked at the boy and sniffled. “Oh... no nothing, I was just …nothing it is fine I am fine” She said shaking her head. “I’m Patricia, Patricia Dawsison. Nice to meet you um…. I’m sorry what your name is?” She showed a confused look on her face. She defiantly has never seen this boy before but, he seemed nice. He looked to be around her age. Very cute, according to her. As well.

Richard smiled at Patricia. She seemed really nice, and she was very beautiful as well. Suddenly, Richard blushed. Why couldn't he be like those guys who could just talk to people instead of blushing everytime he thought someone looked nice? "Hi Patricia. Sorry, I'm Richard. Richard Dermont. I'm a third year Ravenclaw," he said, trying to talk articulately. Then he gave her another shy smile. "And I'm glad you're fine. But, if you're not, you can tell me. I won't tell anyone," he said softly, hoping he wouldn't freak her out. Patricia seemed really nice, and he had vowed he would make more friends this year. "More friends? Make that one friend," he thought wryly. "So, what are you doing walking the halls?" He asked.

Patricia Blushed at how nice he was, usually Ravenclaws were never nice to Slytherins, especially Rayne she hated Patricia. She smiled and put her blonde curls behind her ears, and looked up and down, all over the room. Her pale cheeks turned burnt red.
“Well, I was board and my family sent me back early for the holidays, and there is nothing better to do. What about you love, what are you doing in the halls? Usually everyone is either with there family or friends.”

"Yeah, I would be at home. In fact, I wanted to be home, but there was a bit of a situation and Mum and Dad and my sisters had to leave for a while, and they weren't sure when they would be back. So they thought it would be best if I stayed here for the holidays," Richard said, his hair flopping into his eyes again. He grinned at Patricia and was amazed at how easily he was finding talking to her. Was he wrong all this time? Were people easy to talk to? Or was it just Patricia? "And I don't really have friends at Hogwarts. I mean..." Richard cringed at how bad that came out. It was the truth, but he didn't want to sound like he was some freak who had no friends. "What I mean is, I haven't really had time to...uh...make any close friends with my academic responsibilities..." he trailed off. Now he was remembering why he didn't usually speak to people. Pausing, he tried to salvage the situation. "Um..so where are your friends? I bet you have heaps," he said shyly. Closing his eyes briefly, he wondered if Patricia was just going to walk off then. Surely someone like her wouldn't stay when he sounded like such a moron.

Patricia smiled at him, “ha-ha, your funny. Me…. have friends…,” She laughed. “Well I mean I have friends and all, but most of them don’t go to Hogwarts,” She paused at him, what a fool she was making of herself. “I have sort of acquaintances if you might say, um….well….nobody…. I mean….” She laughed out of embarrassment and covered her face with her hands and looked up at the ceiling and breathed a heavy sigh. “I have friends……well friend, I should say. People really don’t like me… that much... y-yeah...they, they don’t” she looked down at her feet in utter embarrassment.
“What have I just done Bloody hell Patricia? This was a Ravenclaw, you are never nice to anyone why you are nice to him” She thought to herself. She then pulled back into reality and, her face went red, “Ash” She covered her face with her hands. “I am making such a fool I am sorry” she then pulled her hands away from her face now utterly appalled. Hopping Richard didn’t hate her already.

"No, no you're not!" Richard said, hoping Patricia wouldn't leave. "I'm...I'm really enjoying your company," he said. For once, he didn't feel his cheeks flame. "You don't have to feel stupid around me, really. I think I've embarrassed myself about ten times already while I've been talking to you," he said, laughing. Reaching out to touch her arm, he grinned. "Please stay. If it means anything, I think the people who aren't your friends are missing out on a lot."
Richard put his hands in his pockets. "Whose Ash? Is that your friend?" He asked, hoping the question wasn't stupid. He didnt' know an Ash, but if they were a friend of Patricia's, then they'd probably be cool.

Patricia smiled and looked, at Richard and blushed. She was completely embarrassing herself, she has never done that. She smiled a huge smile at that remark he made about her friends. “Oh Ash, um….well…it is one of my words. I say that instead of other words. I also say stuff, like crater sauce. When bad stuff happens or did happen.” She blushed even redder than usual. What was she doing? Spilling everything about her self, all her little corks about her self. To this guy she didn't evan know

"Cool. I say weird stuff too. Like, me and my sisters have lots of in-jokes. Isabelle, she's the youngest, she'll jump on my back and say "Silly Redback", and then we'll do this stupid dance. It's quite embarrassing actually, I don't know why I just told you that..." But despite the fact that normally Richard would blush after saying something so personal and awkward, he just laughed. Patricia didnt' seem like the kind of person who would make fun of him, and she had confided in him. He smiled shyly again at her. "So what is your friend's name? Maybe I know them," he said, although he knew he wouldn't. He didn't know anyone. But he wanted to get to know Patricia more.

Patricia smiled and let out a cute laugh. “Ha-ha yeah, me and my little sister are pretty close. She is nine by the way” She then put her hands to her side and held them together with her head down. Her blonde curls fell in front of her pale face. And she smiled with her blood red lips at Richard, “her name is Rachel, my friend. You probably don’t know her. She is Slytherin….So am I”
She stepped a step back. And bit her lip and put her head down. She knew that was bad to tell a Raven claw. Now for sure he would hate her. Looked at him, expecting something, to defend himself, some come back or something.

"No, you're right I don't know her," Richard said, thinking carefully. Not that he thought he did know her, but it might impress Patricia if he did know her. But he didn't want to lie. He was worse at lying than talking to new people. But this is going well, he thought to himself. I'm actually talking to someone new and not about to pass out, he smiled proudly at his efforts. And, the person he was talking to was really cool. Somebody he could be great friends with. He looked up and smiled at Patricia, and then froze. She was staring at the ground, biting her lip. Richard panicked. Had he said something wrong? She still hadn't said anything, so Richard tried to think of something to say.
"But I would really like to meet her. Rachel, I mean. If she's a friend of yours, she's a friend of mine," he blurted out, then cringed. He hoped she wouldn't think that he was presuming anything. The truth was, he didn't have a clue about these situations. Were they friends now? Or mere aquaintances. He didnt know, but he didn't want to take a chance. "I mean, if that's OK with you," he said softly.

Patricia smiled, and tilted her head to the side confused. She stepped closer to him. “You-you mean you don’t hate me because I am a Slytherin.” She asked almost with a laugh to her tone. She smiled at the thought. Her… friends with a Ravenclaw, she could get used to this, but what would the other Slytherins say, she was always so tuff and mean, she hated other houses. They might think she was week, or worse a blood traiter. Worse what would her father say? Her faced went from Happy to worry in a second.

Rachel walked up the hall, whistling softly. She was in a good mood. Pausing for a second, she danced for a few seconds before continuing walking, not even bothering to look behind her to see if anyone had seen. If they had, they should be pleased - Rachel was an excellent dancer. She smiled. The entire day had been going flawlessly, and it could only improve. Suddenly she saw Patrica ahead, talking to a boy she didn't recognise. "Hey, Patrica!" She called as she jogged up to the pair. Up close, she realised the boy was a Ravenclaw, and quite cute as well. He was blushing, and so was Patrica. Giving him a dazzling smile, she turned to Patrica. "I'm not interrupting anything, am I?" She whispered, looking indiscreetly at Patrica, hoping she understood what she meant. "I can leave if you want." Rachel looked at the boy again, and, deciding it would rude to just leave without introducing herself, she gave him another smile before offering her hand. "I'm Rachel Mason. Pleased to meet you," she said politely.

Patricia had a huge beam across her face. “Yup that is Rachel . . . Rachel meet Richard, Richard meet Rachel!” She turned to Rachel with a smirk. “Oh no, you’re not interrupting anything, we were just talking.” She said with a dazzling smile. “Isn’t he cute” she whispered to Rachel and snickered. While covering her mouth, to hide the smile that spread across her face.

"You're telling me," Rachel whispered back, hoping Richard couldn't hear them. She straightened and smiled at Richard again. "Hi Richard. How are you?" She asked. Richard looked really nice, and Patrica only confirmed this to Rachel. "So how do you two know each other?" She asked, smiling at Patrica and then Richard.

Richard was just about to answer Patricia with, "Why would I hate you?" when another girl walked up with a huge smile and called out to Patricia. Feeling awkward, Richard blushed. He hoped Patricia wouldn't feel bad about leaving if she wanted to hang out with her friend. He was just about to say so to Patricia, when the girl introduced herself as Rachel. Looking at Rachel properly for the first time, he smiled shyly. Rachel was beautiful too, only in a different way to Patricia. Ashamed at what he was thinking, Richard looked down again as he shook her hand. Rachel probably thought he was an idiot, and Patricia soon would as well.
He smiled stiffly, and then felt the blood rush to his head as Rachel whispered something to Patricia, and then Patricia whispered back to Rachel. It didn't take a genius to work out what they were saying. Rachel was wondering what someone like Patricia was doing talking to him, while Patricia was whispering back asking Rachel how to get away without hurting his feelings. Richard felt a bead of sweat forming on his forehead. His first instinct was to run, but he didn't want to be seen as more of a weirdo. He was just about to politely excuse himself when Rachel, with a friendly smile, asked how he and Patricia knew each other. Tentatively, he wondered if she was being serious. But looking at her, and her open expression and sweet brown eyes, he decided she was being genuine. Clearing his throat, he tried to sound confident. "Actually, we just met a few moments ago." Why did it come out as a squeak? He wondered in bewilderment. Running his hand through his hair, he grinned awkwardly. "Um...how long have you known Patricia for?" He asked, smiling at Rachel. Please don't think I'm stupid, he begged silently.

Patricia giggled at his squeak. She thought it was cute. “We just met as well….a couple days ago.” She put her hand on his shoulder sweetly. “You don’t talk to a lot of people do you love?” she asked him with an awkward smile.

Richard looked up at the two girls and gave them a lopsided smile. "Oh, and here I was thinking I was covering it up so well," he joked. Still blushing a bit, he laughed. "Did you guys really only meet a few days ago? That's pretty cool," he said. He seemed to be doing a pretty awful job at the whole conversation thing, but the situation was turning out alright. Both Patricia and Rachel were smiling and being friendly, and Richard was almost having fun. "So where are you guys off to now? I mean, if you're not doing anything, do you want to hang out?" He asked, biting his lip, hoping they would say yes.

Patricia blushed, he wanted to actually do something with her, “wow” she thought. She looked at Rachel while putting her blonde behind her ears. “Well I am not doing, anything.” She smiled at Richard then turned to Rachel. “What about you Rachel?”
She really wanted to do something with Richard she sort of like him. He seemed nice and sweet.
