Weetzie O'Keeffe held the Sneakoscope up to the light and examined the trinket. It had been something she had bought at the last Hogsmeade trip. The memory of when she bought it sneaked back into her mind and Weetzie found herself smiling brightly. She had entered the shop and was looking around when she had wandered down an aisle with a million (or at least it seemed to be a million to her) Sneakoscopes on the shelves. The second she stepped down the aisle, the Sneakoscopes went crazy. Weetzie, who reacted differently than most people would toward the shrill pitch and whirling lights that appeared, laughed and picked one up off the shelf to stare at it in awe. The witch on duty told her that the Sneakoscope freaked out when someone was doing something untrustworthy near it. She raised an eyebrow at Weetz, who immediately bought one. Once the trinket was in the bag, it had seemed to shut up and it had been silent since then. Now, as Weetzie looked over the Sneakoscope, the sunlight bounced off it and made it have the appearance of being lit up, but it wasn't and Weetz knew this because it made no shrill noise. She stared at it a moment and then pocketed the trinket before bouncing out of the dormitory.
The common room was empty, which wasn't all that surprising because most people had better things to do than fiddle around with a Sneakoscope. Weetzie chewed on her pinkie nail as her eyes wandered to the staircase to the boys' dormitories. She silently wondered if Bryce was up there, and was tempted to check, but she decided against it and continued (hurriedly) out of the common room. The corridors were littered with first years exploring them, which Weetzie found odd because she'd done that her first week at the school. Not everyone seemed to be willing to get lost on their first day of classes, though. Weetzie dodged to the left as a first year boy sped past her ("I found one!") and nearly tripped on the heel of her boot. She wasn't annoyed, though, because she understood how things were for kids who just started Hogwarts. She had been there only 4 years before. Her feet were carrying her to the Great Hall, but then she decided to take a detour. Her destination was a place she had always wanted to hang out in, but never had the time or the chance. Now she did and that made Weetzie rather happy. The corridors widened as she reached her destination, the trophy room.
Around her were hundreds of glittering trophies, all out in the open unlike muggle trophy rooms that had them in cases. The really important trophies were gleaming in a glass hutch, though, and those were the ones that Weetzie went to first. The Quidditch trophies were fun to look at because they had the glittering names and one even had an image of the Snitch darting around the names. The Special Service awards weren't as fun to look at, but it was fun to imagine what the people did to deserve such an award. Her eyes fell on the Service award that was most recent, the one that had been appointed to Harry Potter and Ron Weasley their second year at Hogwarts. It was a pity that he had died so young. Weetzie sighed and looked back at the Quidditch trophies and was about to lean in for a closer look when the Sneakoscope went off and whirled out of her pocket. She jumped and reached for the trinket, but it was out of her reach and her weight fell through the glass in the trophy case. Weetzie winced and lifted herself out, almost panicking because she had broken school property. Before she could panic completely, though, the glass re-assembled itself and was made whole again. With a bewildered look, she turned on the person that had set the Sneakoscope a whirl. She recognized the girl as Ashley Hill, someone in her house and a year above her. Though they were in the same house they had never met, nor talked. Weetzie tossed the Sneakoscope up into the air and then caught it with a wink in Ashley's direction, "According to this you aren't trustworthy." She laughed and took a step forward while holding out her hand for the older girl to shake, "Weetzie O'Keeffe. The most untrustworthy girl you'll ever meet."
