Alexandra shivered in the chilly air and tightened her hold on her cloak. The May weather had been pleasant as of late, unusually warm. However, when the time became late enough, the air would turn cold, fast. Alexandra didn't mind the cold much. No, she needed the fresh air to think. No matter the temperature. She never liked being indoors much, always preferring the lakeside to sort through her thoughts.
A sigh. Not melancholy, but still a sigh full of meaning. She tilted her head, fingering the locket at her neck. In the past few days, she found she did that alot while thinking. She couldn't go a day without some sort of necklace about her neck and since her mind had been so occupied with thoughts that troubled her, she felt at the little charms with her fingers.
What is it about him? She asked herself. Her thoughts, as usual, were always full of Pyro. Cass's unveiling of Pyro's secrets had shocked and hurt her so deeply. Alexandra's anger with him was surprising, even to herself. She couldn't understand at the time why she'd been so angry. Later, when she'd had a chance to reflect upon the situation that she'd understood. He was the first person she truly trusted and he'd hurt her. Instead of being sad, she felt angry that she'd let herself get hurt. Then, it only goes to reason, that she'd forgiven him so suddenly because she'd missed having her boyfriend.
It was true. She'd missed him. She couldn't stand the thought of losing him and the fact that it'd be incredibly awkward since she lives with him... But, aside, she'd missed having him there to hug and play with his hair. In fact, the week she'd taken apart from him to sort through these thoughts only made her miss him even more. What was she doing? She'd forgiven him and then spend days away from him, angry and alone. It was normal for her. Whenever she was threatened, off she went to be alone! It was time to finish it, however. She was done thinking. She needed to speak with him.
She smiled to herself. It was finally time to get over it. Alexandra took another look at the lake, her brown eyes joyful for the first time in days, and turned away, ready to go off and find him. Just as she was about to leave, the gray, slowly darkening sky thundered. It was soft and quite subtle, but thunder none the less. Alexandra looked up, hopeful for a little thunder storm. It was spring and thunder storms were normal. However, they hadn't had a very decent one lately. She smiled and sat down underneath her favorite tree just as it began to pour rain. The sheet of water that fell from the sky thundered almost as much as the sky. Alexandra sighed, content. She was finally going to talk things out with Pyro and get her boyfriend back. And there was a thunderstorm in the making. What a day... it was all working out so well!

Pyro hovered easily in the air. His legs and thighs kept him steady on the broom and is arms were crossed over his chest as he looked down at the field bellow him. He found that he did this quite often, when the weather permitted. He stared down at the field, seeing the movements of the imaginary players quite vividly. This was how he built his game strategies. Having the visual allowed him to see how the plays would turn out, and since it was in his head, he could make the opposing players do almost anything, allowing him to gage the strengths and weakness of his strategy. Dark rain clouds began to roll in but Pyro hardly noticed them. It had been awhile since he was able to do this, and he wouldn't be thwarted by a little rain at this time. He stayed there for a while longer, but the first drops of rain broke his concentration and he looked around. With a sigh he decided it was time to call it a night.
Pyro began to navigate his way down to the ground when the rain really began to fall in heavy sheets. He cursed himself as he carefully guided his way down with his minimal vision. Suddenly a lightning bolt crashed down, nearly missing and startling him. Pyro jerked the broom violently and began to spin uncontrollably. He wrestled with the broom, trying to stop his dangerously fast decent and regain some control. Unfortunately his path to the ground wasn't long enough and the ground came into view a split second before Pyro crashed into the ground. He was thrown clear from his broom and rolled head over feet across the ground. He finally stopped a few feet away and lay on his back. Pain arced up his leg and he had to bite his leg from screaming.
Growling in pain he slowly sat up and looked at his leg. It didn't appear to be broken, but it was bruised and sprained rather badly. He poked it testingly at spots and winced in pain. Crap! He wouldn't be able to put any weight on it. Sighing he pulled out his wand and conjured up a makeshift splint. He than accioed up his broom and used it to support him as he pulled himself up into a standing position. He sighed again and put his wand away and used the broom as a walking stick and began his walk back to the castle. The rain had sorely drenched him through and through already and the going was miserable. After a bit of a walk he came to a tree that held a solitary figure beneath it. What would someone be doing out in this? Pyro moved closer, whoever it was hadn't noticed his approach. It was rather hard to see anything through the sheets of rain. Pyro stepped under the protection of the tree and nearly fell over at the site. "A....Alex?" He asked tentatively. He hadn't seen her in a while.

The lightening was mainly up in the clouds, flashes of light that lit up half the sky. Alexandra loved lightening storms. She used to spend nights on the roof of the Ricci Mansion watching the sky as it flashed and thundered at her. She sighed, leaning fully against the tree. The spring season had caused the trees to bloom fully, almost overcome with leaves. This particular tree was very full of leaves and so she was shielded from most of the rain, however drops found their way onto her nose or leg.
Suddenly a bolt of lightening flashed and hit near the Quidditch Pitch. Or was it directly on the Quidditch Pitch? She wasn't sure, but it jolted her in surprise. That was terribly close... She looked up at the tree. Hopefully the lightening wouldn't strike any closer. They tended to hit trees often. She bit her lip, nervous. She was nearly ready to get up and leave when a voice broke the sound of the rain and thunder and surprised Alexandra so that she even shouted her surprise. Not loud, but still a shout of surprise. She looked up at the owner of the voice, eyes wide. Maybe it was the nervous energy she was feeling why she was shocked so.
"Pyro?!" She asked, holding a hand to her chest, trying to steady her heart. He was drenched. Head to toe soaked and he seemed to be in pain. Dirt was smeared over his face and robes as if he'd fallen somewhere. She stood, looking him over with worry in her eyes. She hadn't seen him a few days and seeing him like this troubled her. He seemed so weak... no miserable was the correct word.
"Are you OK?" She asked, not hiding the concern in her voice.

Pyro looked at Alex in silence. He hadn't seen her in quite some time and meeting her, out like this, was a complete shock to him. He had no idea how she would react. Was she still angry at him? Had he moved past and made a decision? Was she leaving him or staying with him? All these questions nagged at Pyro's soul as he looked down at the girl he loved. He noticed her notice his image. The dirt he was covered in, his not so good looking condition and he saw the concern cross her face. His tongue caught in his throat when she stood and asked if he was alright. Why couldn't he talk now? They had been dating for a while now, he had moved past that awkward first date jitters. He should be able to speak on normal terms with her by now.
He cleared his throat, this was silly, speak already. He looked down at his leg. "Oh this. Oh yea, its nothing." He gulped. "I just took a little fall and twisted it in a wrong way. It'll heal in no time." He said grinning so that he could dissuade her and get her to move past the injury. If he allowed the conversation to dwell on it than this entire encounter would hang around just the injury, and Pyro knew he couldn't allow for that to happen. He cleared his throat. "So, how have you been doing? I haven't seen you around in a while." He chuckled. "I kind of though you'd forgotten about me." He said with a wink to show that he wasn't serious about that comment.

Alexandra hated to see him in pain. She bit her lip as he waved it aside. She wanted to know if he was really OK, not just saying that so she wouldn't worry. He used to do that a lot... She stopped herself from pressing the issue, he seemed to be trying to say something and maybe it meant that he truly was going to be fine and that his leg wasn't broken or anything. He was standing and he'd obviously walked over to the tree from wherever he'd fallen. So she dropped it. It was time for some trust. She smiled back at him, hoping he'd say something.
The silence was awkward. It'd been how long since she'd really spoken to him? A week? Two weeks? It was hard to remember and she felt like an idiot for letting it go on for so long. Alexandra loved silence, but not between her and Pyro. It was unusual and she missed him being around. Oh, she just plain missed him! She bit her lip again, as she usually did in situations like this. Finally, he spoke, but it was a tad awkward, just like the odd silence.
He asked how'd she'd been and she gulped. He wanted to talk about the weeks she'd spent away from him. She cursed her self-absorbed behavior. Why hadn't she thought of how he was feeling the whole time she was avoiding him to think. She shrugged, looking down at her feet. When he joked about her forgetting him, she looked up sharply, hoping he didn't really think that. He winked as if to say he was only kidding, but she felt horrible for not speaking to him for so long. She fingered the locket at her neck again, taking a deep breath to regain her cool.
"I've been, uh, good. I guess." She said in her quiet voice, which she raised over the sound of the rain. She bit her lip again, which was becoming annoying to her at this point. How many times was she going to do that!? She sighed, letting go of her locket and forced herself not to bite that stupid lip of hers. She needed to talk and beating around the bush wasn't going to help.
"No... I haven't forgotten about you. Actually, the time we weren't really talking, all I was thinking about was you," she said this with a slight chuckle, "I just needed to sort through some things. Sorry it took me so long. I hated it when we weren't talking." She added the last part with a shy smile.

Pyro could see she wanted to talk to him, the pained expression on her face told him exactly what the subject matter was. He silently willed her away from the subject, if they began to speak about his leg, than that topic would dictate the entire nights conversation. Pyro couldn't allow that, they had to get this resolved, whatever was going on behind her eyes. It was important that Pyro knew what she was thinking, there was no way he'd be able to make it through another week of non-speaking. There was a moment of silence after his question to her and every second tore at his heart. The silence was one of the greatest cliffhangers Pyro had ever experienced in his life. What would she say? What path would she choose? He held his breath and waited fro her answer.
He nearly blew out his breath in relief when she spoke and made positive remarks. He smiled when she said that she hadn't forgotten about him. Though he had said that comment as a joke, there was still a small worry in the back of his mind that she had actually forgotten about him. It was good to hear the opposite from her. He gulped when she told him all she needed was to sort out her thoughts. He figured that was what she was doing during this time. Yet still, when she said that his heart twisted viciously. What conclusion had she come to now? Were they still alright? Or would this be their last conversation. Pyro meant to continue the conversation. Yet the lump in his throat didn't allow him to speak.
He wrestled with it for a few moments before finally breaking up the lump. He gulped once and than looked Alex in the eye. "So...... Where did your sorting get you?" He asked.

Alexandra watched his face as her words sunk in. He seemed relieved, which made her smile, but then worry crossed his eyes. She bit her lip again, which caused the self-consious part of her mind to scream in annoyance, but she ignored that. Pyro didn't care how many times she'd bite her lip. Hopefully, he cared that she was talking to him. Or maybe he wanted her to leave him alone... She took hold of her locket once more, her worries racing through her mind. She couldn't loose him.
Then he spoke and she looked up at him, her eyes searching his. He still seemed worried, more so actually. His words confused her, but also she understood why he'd ask. He needed to know if they were over or not. She gulped, nervous for the first time since their first kiss. What was it about him that made her so nervous that she'd say the wrong thing. Why did she love him so much that she never wanted him hurt, emotionally and physically. Her overpowering urge to baby him until he never limped again came to her and she sighed.
"I..." she nerves made her stutter, as was her habit, "I just can't..." She took a deep breath and turned to face him, her eyes locking into his.
"I can't loose you." She said, her eyes determined. She felt tears come to her eyes, but she fought them back. This wasn't the time to cry, Alex. She kept telling herself. She had to stay strong so that he knew she loved him. He had to know.

Pyro once again held his breath and waited for her answer. His heart was pounding in his throat in anticipation. Sometimes he hated Alex and her shy nature, but than he realized that that was the reason he loved her. She was always mysterious and kept him on his toes. His relief was evident at her words. Before she had even finished the small sentence Pyro had closed the small piece of distance between them and wrapped Alex up in a tight hug. Pyro pulled her close to his body, dropping his broom and placing weight on his hurt leg, not caring about the pain that raced up it. Right now, nothing could separate him from her, no amount of pain in his legs would get him to relinquish his old. "I can't either." He whispered to her as he touched his cheek to her hair.
He held her like that for what seemed to be forever before slowly pushing her back out to arms length. He locked eyes with her and held the stare for another few moments. He smiled warmly. "The Blackfire household is ours now. We have no body standing in our way anymore. No body above us constantly pushing us down." His mind raced through the possibilities. He had never thought about this before, but here and now, it just seemed appropriate. He knew he loved Alex, and he wanted nothing but to remain by her side. He had no doubt about their relationship, it couldn't be more right and any less wrong. "After school. Lets finish it, make it official." He held the silence for a few and watched her reaction carefully. "Lets get married."
There, Pyro had said it. The thought that had been going through his mind for many weeks now, but he had never had the courage to ask. Now it was out in the open and waiting for her response. He knew it wasn't a proper proposal, he didn't have a ring or anything. But he would make up for that later, during the summer when they got back home. he'd make up for his lack of proper protocol with a romantic dinner. But now he waited patiently for her reaction and response.

As Pyro hugged her, joy over-flooded Alexandra and she felt the happy tears fall and she clung to his shoulders. She smiled and rested her head against his and never felt better before in her life. When he whispered that he too couldn't loose her, her smile was larger and her eyes shut tight at the happiness that raced through her. She hugged him harder. This moment was going to be locked away in her memories forever.
When he broke away from her, her smile continued as she wiped away the tears and looked into his eyes. He stared at her for a few moments, but she didn't mind. She stared right back. When he smiled, she smiled even bigger and wished she could jump up and down with the joy in her heart. Then he began to talk about the Blackfire household and she listened, wondering why on Earth he was bringing that up now. He said it was there's, the two of them and no one could stand in their way. Alexandra smiled, nodding. She knew that. Charles was gone and the family had to listen to Pyro now, since he was the rightful heir to the Blackfire fortune.
Then he said something about when school was over. Alexandra felt a tad confused and showed it. Make it official? Realization dawned on her, slowly, as he paused for her reaction. It was his next words that sent a chill through her entire body. Her shock reached her very soul as he, informally, asked her to marry him. She felt her mouth drop slightly and her eyes widen with surprise. She never expected it. They were only 15, but it didn't really matter at that moment. Maybe it wasn't proper, no ring, but Alexandra never cared for such things. She only cared about what he'd just said to her. She stared into his eyes, trying to read if he really wanted this and meant every word, but she only saw love. She smiled, finally, seeing what she'd needed and nodded vigorously.
"How can I say no?" She asked as way of saying yes.
