Getting Reacquainted (open after Caiest and Vlad)

Rayne stormed outside, an older red haired girl following her. She had a letter clutched in her hand. "Rayne!" the red haired girl called after her. "Rayne stop!" Rayne stopped and whirled to face the girl who looked so much like her or rather she looked like the girl. Rayne threw the letter on the ground, the letter containing the information that the red haired girl was her sister. Rayne looked up at the older girl furious tears in her eyes.

"How could you! How could you have been attending here for 3 years with me and never have told me! How could Mom and Dad have kept this from me? How could Aunt Kim. How could all of you do this to me keep something as cool and big as having a sister from me?" Rayne screamed tears streaming from her eyes. She was pissed beyond pissed she couldn't believe her entire family knew she had a sibling and kept it from her. She couldn't believe her own sister didn't care enough about her to tell her earlier.

Rayne looked up her sister had been talking to her and she had been so involved in her own thoughts she had completely missed what she said. Rayne opened her mouth to tell her sister that when her vision swam. Rayne stuck her hand out to steady herself she hasn't had an episode like this in well over a year. She heard her sister scream her name then everything went black.

Caiest followed her sister outside. By the looks of it her baby sister Rayne wasn't taking the news that she had a sister after all very well. In fact she looked pissed. Caiest thought something like this might happen but she wasn't happy about it. It had gone differently in her head. In her head she had sent the letter telling Rayne that she was her sister and everything that happend, met Rayne for the first time as her sister and Rayne had given her a big hug and rejoiced that they were together. The reality was Rayne recieved the letter saw Caiest in person and ran. Caiest sighed this was going to take a lot more time then she had hoped.

"Rayne stop!" She called and surprisingly Rayne did stop but not to let her talk like she hoped instead Rayne went off and started crying. Caiest couldn't blame her, really she couldn't. She'd feel the same way if she had just found out she had a younger sister. Caiest was lucky because she had known all along that she had a sister so it wasn't a big shock but for Rayne it was a huge shock. Rayne finally stopped yelling and Caiest took this as her moment to explain everything.

"Rayne baby I'm sorry I never told you but I was forbidden." Caiest knew it sounded cheesey and maybe Rayne didn't believe her but it was the truth. She was told not to tell Rayne under any circumstances in fact she'd probably get in trouble for telling her now her Aunt had told her to let her parents tell her but Caiest wanted it to come from her since more then likely Rayne would blame her.

Caiest looked up Rayne looked like she was about to pass out. "Rayne sweetheart are you ok?" Caiest asked major concern in her voice. Suddenly Rayne collapsed and hit the ground. "Rayne!" Caiest screamed bending down to look at her sister. Rayne looked bad in fact she had started shaking and her eyes had rolled to the back of her head. "Rayne! Rayne baby wake up!" Caiest said. She was scared and had no idea what to do. She'd seen her sister do this once before when she was really young about a year before she was sent away to live with her Aunt. It was still just as scary as back then even more so because her Mom or Aunt wasn't there to help.

Caiest wasn't sure what to do but if she left her sister like this till the episode passed she was sure to get a concussion since she was seizuring and bashing her head into the ground. Caiest set her sisters head in her lap and steadied her shoulders so that she wasn't bucking around as much. After a minute that seemed like a life time to Caiest her sister stopped moving. Caiest hoped that Rayne would wake up after the seizuring stopped but she was still out of it. "Rayne? Rayne wake up." She said petting her younger sisters hair. "Someone help me! Please I don't know what to do!"

Another cold day as Vlad pottered around the stone corridors, he would extend his hands in an attempt to warm them, reaching out at every passing torch, fire, and heater. He had his black fingerless gloves, his dad had sent them for christmas, they really did help with the chill.

It wasn't unusual for wails and echoes to bellow down the corridor and into Vlads ears, sometimes he wondered where they were coming from, often they were just in his own head, and sometimes it was difficult for him to tell which were real and which weren't, and that's when he found it hard to be social.

There was a calling ahead of him in the air, it bounced off the walls with urgency and seemed to jab him right in the gut. It sounded like someone calling for help, he didn't know who, but he looked around and saw there was noone. He followed the trail of echoes, down a few corridors he jogged passing torches and fires and all the warmth they offered.. oh well, he'd be sweating if he kept this up. As he turned a final corner, Caiest and Rayne came into vision, the first thing he noticed was the long red hair of Caiest which trailed down her back, and Rayne's black hair in her lap, and she wasn't moving.

Vlad was shocked... 'what's going on!'. He approached, disregarding Caiest and placed his hands on Raynes face softly but firmly to check if she was conscious, her eyes were rolled back and this was an awful sight, a scarey one for Vlad.

'What did you do?? How long as she been like this? Tell me!' He seemed really angry and determined to get some answers.

Caiest looked at the boy that had come up and placed his hands on her sisters face. He asked her what was wrong. "I don't know we were talking and she was mad, really mad then she started crying and the next thing I know she stumbled towards me and passed out then she started seizuring. I mean she's had this before the seizures I mean she had them when she was like 2 years old I didn't know she still had them and they've never lasted this long before." Caiest realized she was becoming hysterical and she had to stop or she'd pass out as well from lack of taking a breath.

Vlads anger helped pull her back from the brink of a complete mental breakdown. He was a hufflepuff for one and a younger student no one talked down to her especially when it involved her little sister. She had been away for too long to let her some little boy come and order her around when it involved her sister. "Listen, little boy, I didn't do anything to her I told you what happened and it just happend about 3 minutes ago. And if you don't mind my asking who are you and what do you care about my sister?" She asked realizing she sounded like a bitch and had no reason to be like this to someone trying to help she took a deep breath. "Sorry I didn't mean to snap at you I'm just really scared right now." Caiest said continuing to stroke her sisters hair.

Vlad barely noticed Caiest at first, and her second reaction to him which in other situations he would have found quite rude and probably snubbed her, but Rayne's health was all that mattered right now. He held one of her hands as she struggled, and he knew people going through a seizure were not supposed to be interfered with, he just made sure she could breathe and had decent circulation by unbuckling the top button of her shirt.

After the initial few moments of arriving at the scene, and not really taking in what had been said by Caiest, his eyes bolted back at her in realisation. 'You're her sister?' he said with surprise. 'Oh i'm so sorry, i did not know... i had no idea'. He looked a lot more apologetic, and since she was Slytherine she'd probably use it as an opportunity to guilt trip him into feeling regretful, or so he thought, as was usually the case with them.

He looked at her, and her hair, then her facial features and he did think how similar they looked and she was probably telling the truth, but still, why is Rayne unconscious, it is something from childhood? What has caused it to happen recently, Vlad didn't really know or care for the time being, he just kept a hold of her hand and stroked it with his thumb. Please come around, he thought. His heart was beating like a train.

Caiest sighed as Vlad apologized and realized that what she said was true. When he mentioned not knowing that Caiest was Rayne's sister she let out a chuckle. "You must be one of Rayne's friends then. Don't get mad at her when she wakes up from this because she didn't tell you she had a sister. She just found out herself. That's why we were out here she didn't want the screaming match to be heard by everyone." Caiest said smiling sadly looking at her little sister.

Rayne wasn't a fragile person not in the least. She was strong and smart and very pretty. Caiest knew this because she'd been around even though Rayne never knew or didn't notice. But in this state Rayne looked like a porcelin doll something not to be touched or she would break. Caiest swallowed the tears that were threatening to come she hated that her baby sister looked so weak. Not just because she knew Rayne would hate being seen like this but also because it was her sister and no one should have to go through this.

Caiest smiled when she saw that Vlad was stroking her sisters hand. He must really care for her if he was staying even after Caiest had almost driven him away. "So tell me how do you know Rayne? And do you think we should move her now that she's stopped seizuring or whatever? Maybe levitate her to the Hospital Wing."

Vlad didn't want to move Rayne, she looked so frail and blank, he just wanted to breathe the life back into her somehow, and to heal her. 'No, just let her rest here a little longer til she gets some strength back'. Vlad seemed sure of himself, that this was the right thing to do, and he rested Raynes hand back onto her chest and removed his jacket, covering her in it as a cheap excuse for a blanket.

He took a seat a few steps away and put his head between his hands, regularly looking back at her to make sure she was breathing, she looked frightfully weak. Maybe he should go and get help, but he did not want to leave her, and what right would he have to tell Caiest to leave her sister and go find some help. He decided to just wait and see if Rayne would improve, if she didn't, he'd find a professor. 'I know it's none of my business about your family matters, i'd just lke you know i'm Rayne's boyfriend Vlad, if you wondered why i'm staying here. I really care about her, and clearly not looking after her well enough'.

He didn't know much else to say, that was his introduction to Caiest and it seemed so distracted and jaded with his focus al being on Rayne, that he barely even looked at her.

Rayne heard voices and she knew deep down she was coming to. She'd experienced this before in fact she'd experienced it a lot before. Rayne had been experiencing seizures like this almost her whole life. She really hoped it was only Caiest who saw. She actually hoped Caiest had just like left before she noticed Rayne was collapsing. Rayne hated having shit like this happen in front of other people. When it was just herself she would come to, talk herself through the pain that usually accompanied the seizure, then go on like nothing happened. When others were around to witness it they would usually make a fuss about her asking her if she was OK did she need an aspirin she hated that sort of pitying attention. She didn't know why everyone had to make such a fuss she was the one blacking out not them and she was fine with it she dealt with it but they made it out to be some sort of big deal like she was dying.

Rayne heard Vlad's voice and resisted the urge to groan. Great just great he had to see all this and find out she had a sister all in the same day. If that wasn't a relationship killer she wasn't sure what was. She had some major explaining to do to both of them. 'I shouldn't have come out of the black out the seizures have to be easier then this.' She thought to herself.

Rayne opened her eyes and turned her head to look at Vlad who looked almost as bad as she felt. "I can't look out for myself don't expect you to be able to do it." She said sending a crooked grin at her boyfriend. Rayne sat up pushing her sisters hand away as she reached out to steady her. "I'll be fine I promise." She said as Caiest opened her mouth to protest.

A surge of pain ran through Raynes body and she gritted her teeth resisting the urge to double over in pain. The seizures were easy to deal with it was the pain her body randomly sent shocking through her that were the problem. Rayne closed her eyes and counted to ten trying to talk herself through the pain. Once the pain cleared she smiled at Vlad and Caiest. "See all better."

As Rayne awoke, Vlad at first hadn't noticed cos he had his head in his hands staring blankly at the floor. He heard her stirring and moaning softly, he immediately went over to her and waited for her to come round. A river of relief flowed through him, and he was so glad she hadn't died. Even though it probably wasn't a fatal seizure, your mind tends to race around all sorts when emergencies are taking place, and Vlads was all over.

'I did not know you were so ill, or that you had a sister, forgive me for not being there for you' , deep down Vlad knew it wasn't his fault but he still knew that if he had of been there she maybe would not have collapsed. As Rayne looked at him she seemed to be putting the pain off, acting like it wasn't as bad as it clearly was. Vlad laid a gentle arm on her back and rubbed it, and placed his other arm on her chest and pressed her down gently, 'just rest for a while, by the sounds of it you've had quite a shock, i understand if you want me to leave, since you two have a lot of catching up to do, but i'm going to make sure you're back on your feet and alive first, okay?'.

He paused and realised he was heavy breathing he'd become that much of a nervous wreck, and his hands were convulsing with shock and adrenaline, which would often emerge after the situation was over. He looked at Caiest who was still next to Rayne clearly as relieved as him, 'see, she's ok, i told you she would be', he was trying to comfort her aswell.

Caiest felt her sister move and was relieved to hear her sisters smart aleck comment. It couldn't be terribly bad if she could still make wise cracks about random stuff. The day her little sister stopped joking was the day she'd most likely die.

Caiest smiled watching Vlad fuss over her little sister. It was so touching that Rayne had managed to find a boyfriend that cared for her like that. Caiest set her hand on Rayne's shoulder she could tell that her sister was still in pain even though she tried to make it look like nothing was wrong. Out of respect for her sister and because she knew she hated it when she was fussed over Caiest bit her tongue and didn't say anything.

Caiest smiled at Vlad when he reassured her that Rayne was ok. She could tell that he was as shaken up as she herself was. "Yeah she's a strong kid." She said to Vlad before turning her attention to the younger girl now sitting upright next to her.

"Rayne I know Aunt Kim said you had these black out things but I wasn't aware they were so..." She stopped trying to search for the proper words. "Violent? Yeah Violent is the right word. And also she told me that you took medication for them and that you were better. According to her you haven't had an episode in years. Did you stop taking the meds to cure it or something?" She asked the concern was clear in her voice.

Rayne buried her face in her hands and groaned. Of all the times for the episodes to return they had to return in the middle of the school year and in front of her new sister and boyfriend none the less. She knew they meant well but it was really annoying and not to mention embarassing to have them acting like she was so fragile. She worked very hard to get herself to where she had been in their eyes. A strong, independant individual and in the course of ten minutes it had been destroyed because they had to be there when her seizures had decided they needed to make a comeback. 'Great just great.' She mumbled into her hands.

Rayne chuckled when Vlad apologized for not being there and not knowing she was sick or had a sister. "Calm down love you act like I'm dying and I'm not I've had episodes like this since I was two, it's not a big deal. As for the sister thing I didn't know either till just today." She said glancing over at Caiest before returning her eyes to Vlad. She took his hand so she could reassure him. She always thought it was funny that she was often the one reassuring everyone else after an attack like that instead of the other way around. She contemplated faking another one sometime in front of an enemy just to see what they would do.

Rayne pushed those thoughts away as Caiest began the questioning that usually accompanied things like this. How she loved the twenty questions game she found it mildly amusing that everyone asked the same questions over and over again. After eleven years of blackouts you'd think someone could come up with an original question, she thought to herself.

"Look sis I know you think you know everything there is to know about me because you knew i exsisted but you don't. Aunt Kim is however correct that I haven't had these 'black out things' in a long time and that I used to take medication for it but the doctor said I don't need it anymore because the meds never helped to begin with." She knew she was being mean maybe even rude to the girl but she owed her sister nothing and was still pretty pissed she had gone so long without telling her.

Rayne stood up and brushed her robes off they had gotten dirty from how long she'd been on the ground. Feeling an attack of conciounce she helped her sister off the ground as well. No Caiest hadn't told her but chances are, with the parents they had, that she had been forbidden from doing so. "So let's talk about something else shall we? Oh I'm such a ditz." She said slapping her forehead with the palm of her hand. "Caiest this is Vlad my boyfriend. Vlad this is Caiest apparently I have a sister."
