((So, I didn't have any inspiration for Myka in our Great Hall post, so I decided to make one here. The title is just part of the song I am listening to, [five points if you know which ] and has almost absolutely nothing to do with this post. This post will actually be about Utena...))
The day was a typical fall day. Or, the beginning of fall. Myka really didn't care though. She was outside, out of uniform, and had her 'Revolutionary Girl Utena' manga in her hand. Her legs were taking her to a particularly dry spot near the lake underneath a bunch of trees that would shield her from the non-existent sun. Today, Myka had declared very early in the morning, was the perfect day to read her favourite manga. Myka had read it many times before, considering it was her favourite - but she never tired of it. How could someone tire of a kick-butt heroine who saved the Rose Bride from evil members of the Student Council? Well, at least, Myka couldn't. She didn't know how popular a manga it was in Japan or anywhere for that matter. She never ran into anyone who read it or had seen the anime series, then again... Myka rarely ever ran into anyone regardless. In fact, she was pretty much someone who kept to herself unless approached or provoked. The only time she really approached someone was when she talked to Katy, and even then it was with an attitude.
Katy Hudson. The girl's face flashed across Myka's mind as she sat down beneath the tree that had hardly any leaves left. Katy had always intrigued Myka, the way she would act one way toward her friends and then another way when she thoguth no one was watching her. Myka was really the only person who had the time in her day to watch someone's behaviour toward other people and then toward themselves. She was never sucked into big groups of people and having to keep up with their dull and lifeless conversation, so she had the time to herself - to reflect on what she felt and what she saw. And this was how Mykaela Young, came to be aware of Katy Hudson's sexuality - before anyone else did, and possibly even before Katy herself did. It wasn't something everyone would pick up on, though, which was why Myka had to plan on how to confront Katy about this. And it turned out, she didn't have to do much but say 'hello' and talk about her own sexuality. Katy then burst open like a butterfly fighting to get away from a cocoon it could no longer stand. Myka sighed and opened her manga, and began to read but was soon interrupted by her own thoughts...again.
Years ago, Myka had been the only lesbian in Hogwarts - or at least it felt that way to her. Now there was someone else, someone who was new to it and Myka wasn't sure how she felt about that. Shd hadn't ever had an actual relationship with any girl. She went on countless dates with countless girls, but just one never really interested her. Now there was someone at school that she could actually end up with, and the thought of it repulsed her. She didn't know why. It wasn't that Katy wasn't pretty, gorgeous even. Maybe it was because Myka just didn't find the option of having a relationship that appealing. She liked to keep things loose, and she liked to date different types of people. Myka shook her head roughly and looked back down at her manga just as she was interrupted another time, but this time by someone speaking to her...
