Jo throws her book bag down on her bed. She smirks slightly as it bounces and falls off the bed and lands with a loud smack on the ground spilling it's contents everywhere. She pulls out her wand quickly and mutters a spell. The contents quickly end up back in the bag and then she picks it back up and sets it on the bed. She grabs up a letter she received from her brothers and quickly writes out a response. She missed them dearly, but it wouldn't be long before her brothers would be attending Hogwarts. She smiled at the thought. It was difficult being away from them for so long but she knew they were fine. Her parents might not be home too often, but she knew her brothers could take care of themselves, they always did. She read over the parchment and smiled as she signed her name.
Jo quickly pulled off her school robes and into more comfortable clothing on the late Friday afternoon and headed out of her dorm with the letter in hand. Sometimes she wished she had taken her parents up on getting an owl just so she didn't have to walk to the school owls, but on the other hand, she preferred not having that added responsibility. She started up the stairs to the owlery and once inside paused at one of the school barn owls. She gave the owl the letter. "Masters Manor. London," Jo said with a smile. She patted the owl on it's head just before it took off out of the high window in the tower. Jo watched it go for a few seconds until it faded from sight, before she made her way back out of the owlery.
Jo paused at the bottom of the stairs of the tower and looked around. A Friday afternoon with little homework. What was she going to do? She shrugged more to herself than anyone and headed off down the staircases and out the doors to the grounds. The sun was sitting low in the sky, but Jo estimated at least an hour would go by before it began to set. She shielded her eyes briefly from the light as she looked around trying to see if she knew anyone that was outside. She sighed when she didn't see any familiar faces. So she took off at a slow walk toward the lake. Watching the sunlight glimmer off the watery surface. She wondered how much longer it would last before the lake froze over and provided a nice ice skating rink. She just stood at the shore of the lake staring out at it in thought.
