From the tall trees and the calm lake Morgan Collins easily saw a day of fun on the way. Slipping out of her bed her brand new pruple sheets thrown everywhere she used the magic of her wand to place everything in it's place. Glancing at the small alarm clock on the window beside her bed she almost laughed as it read seven twenty in the morning. During the summer she had been sleeping late and enjoying the quiet soundless time to herself, yet four the millionth time already she was already waking up earlier than anyone in her room. Placing a spell on each of her room mates bed curtains she went about the room being as loud as she felt seeing as they couldn't hear her.
She quickly took a shower and then happily found her a pair of sky blue running shorts and a white T-shirt to go with it. Slipping this on she grabbed a pair of tennis shoes and socks. Smiliing she grabbed a brush and then brushed her hair and then put it into a loose pony tail. Grabbing her wand she put it in her bag before walking toward the great hall.
After a quick breakfast of orange juice ad toast she walked outside and headed toward a cliff that was out behind the lake. She wasn't sure if many people knew about it, she just knew that it was usually clear of criticizing Slytherins. Arriving she summoned up both a soccer goal and a soccer ball and then happily pursued her newest out door obsession. Tossing the ball up she charmed it with her wand and then began kicking it around as an invisible other player kicked back at her.

Drew rolled out of bed bright and early in the morning. It wasn't unusual for him to do so, but today was a little different. He hadn't gotten much sleep that night. It had been a tossing and turning night and now he had decided it was best to just get up than to lie awake in the bed pretending that he was actually sleeping. No, he was tired of trying to do that. So he rose from the bed pulling way the four poster curtains around him and looking around the dorm room. It seemed that he was up before everyone, of course he had figured that earlier. He was just hoping that maybe one of his friends was up and around so he had someone to talk to, but it didn't look to be the case today. He sighed and stood, stretching wide as he did so.
Today would be a good day to get some stuff worked out for the band. He quickly threw on some clean clothes and dug his guitar case out from under his bed. He had been teaching himself to play the last few months and was actually getting quite good at it. He knew that by the first concert they had he'd be ready to play. This made things quite interesting for him with the new band getting ready to start playing. He grabbed his wand off his bed side table and haphazardly threw it into his pocket before taking off out of the dorm room and then out of the Gryffindor Tower.
As soon as Drew's feet hit the soft grass outside he smiled. It would be a good morning. It was a little cooler outside than it had been recently, but he was expecting that especially since winter was closing in on them. But he was going to make sure he got enough time outside while it was still warm. Drew's smile widened and he switched his guitar case to his right hand as he strolled off toward the cliff away from the normal hustle and bustle places of the grounds. As he drew closer to his favorite place he noticed a girl kicking what looked to be an enchanted soccer ball. He stopped and watched for a few moments before calling out to her. "You know it would be more fun if you had someone to kick the ball with. Just a personal opinion though," he smiled as he moved closer to her. "Andrew Thornton, but please call me Drew."

Turning at the voice behind her Morgan smiled. Normally she wouldn't have been as eager for another person to come around her. Today seemed different. She had gotten bored and soccer hadn't appealed to her as much as it could have if she had had another player as he had just suggested. Picking up her wand and cleaning the sweat off of her she walked over toward him. "Morgan Collins. And as much as I hate to admit it, you're right. I do need another player. Do you play?" she asked him, un sure as she saw the giutar case in his hand. Thinking she realized this would have appealed to her last year. Music was her. She loved mainly muggle music though because they actually had real talent. These days all a witch had to do was bewitch their giutar to play wonderfully and then pretend to actually play it. To Morgan this was deceitful and made her feel weird around wizard bands or musicians. "Can you really play that or do you just bewitch it?" she asked, wondering his answer. If he said he could play then he probably couldn't. If he said he bewitched it then she would just ignore him, and if he said he was learning she wouldn't be to sure. Thinking of his name she almost smiled. She remembered a boy named Stryder bringing him last year in Hogsmeade, or during the summer in Diagon Alley. She couldn't remember which. ((sorry it's short. be longer next time. i have to get off!!! srry!))

Drew smiled at the girl who introduced herself as Morgan. "I've played a bit of soccer. I'm not the best, but I can play a little. Happens when your dad is some big muggle sports player, or well, used to be. He's retired now, working as some executive for some sports team," Drew just shrugged. He wasn't much into discussing his father's life. Especially since the huge argument that had ensued that summer about Drew playing professional basketball. That had been one of the starting points when Drew realized life with his family was getting more difficult, especially since they weren't really accepting the wizarding thing anymore. Drew ran his spare hand through his hair as he tried to ride the thoughts of his father from his mind. Right now he really needed to concentrate on doing something other than thinking about him.
Drew looked up at Morgan with relief when she asked him whether he played guitar. "First, I'd never bewitch my guitar. I was born a muggle and have found that doing things the easy way usually consists of not messing with magic. But as for being able to play not really. I've only been playing a few months. I'm trying to teach myself for a band I'm in. We needed a guitar player and I wanted to do something other than just sing so I saved up some money this summer and bought this. I'm hoping to actually be rather decent for our first concert, which isn't really planned yet," Drew said with a shrug. That really wasn't the point was it? He was just playing to play anyways. It wasn't just for the band, besides knowing the guitar helped him think up his own songs, which was definitely something he needed.
"What about you? Do you have any musical background? I mean you seem to have some knowledge at least," Drew said with a smirk. Drew had picked up on a slight hint of annoyance in her question and wondered how many people truly did bewitch their guitars in the wizarding world. Drew hadn't even thought about doing that for the band. It just wasn't right, but maybe that's because he was born into a muggle family and so wizarding was second nature to him. But the whole bewitching thing seemed to cheapen the band and for the most part it was cheating.

'Yay!' Morgan thought to herself as she heard his answer. 'He doesn't sound compltetely demented.' Deciding that he wasn't bad to hang around with and that she could definately use another person to help with soccer she wondered for a moment. But before she had a chance he asked her a question about ehr musical back ground. "Um, well last year it was all I ever thought about. I have every, almost every anyway, muggle CD and my favorite bands are muggle bands. So you could say I have musical knowledge. But I don't play. I just write songs sometimes." Thinking about this she remembered her journals full of things about her life put into song text.
Thinking for a moment Morgan bit her lip, she new she still loved music as much as she had she just had gotten tired being sick all the time. That was all she was last year. She never got to see anyone and her old owl Xavier had to live with her parents because she couldn't take care of it. "You wanna play soccer a bit, or are you going to practice your guitar?" Morgan asked Drew after being pulled from her thoughts by the sound of the animals in the trees.
Smiling again she remembered that they used to be, and sorta still were, her inpiration. They made their own sweet music. As the beat of music in her head became more insistant her newest 'favorite song' from Panic! At The Disco became flying through her mind. From muggle science it said that you had two brains. Morgan's 'right' brain was of music, the 'left' was everything else. "So, you wanna play?" Morgan asked again, unsure of if he had answered her while she had been deep in thought.
