Get ready to polish your broom handles and trim your tail twigs, a new quidditch season is upon us. Now school is back in session quidditch will be back as well so everyone remember to sign up for your house teams. First game will likely be mid-October, Gryffindor versus Slytherin.
On that note, I am pleased to announce a new twist to our quidditch system. A game within the game, so to speak; inspired by the cross words that amused many in the last Slytherin/Hufflepuff game.
Within each game there will be two players, one from each team, assigned to make things IC a bit more interesting. Every round all site members will get to vote on who they think the assigned character is. You can vote for different people every time, but if you think you are right then you should keep voting for the same character because the member who guesses the correct players the most often wins.
‘What can I win?’, I can hear the crowds asking. It will be different every time but if you look at the IC prizes we have given out in previous competitions you should get some idea of what’s in store.
‘But, if there are only two people asked to make things more interesting, won’t we know right away who it is and then everyone will get it right?’, is another question ringing in my ear. However, ambitious Slytherin that I am I can tell you why there will, hopefully, be a clear winner. The players in the game will also be able to vote, and they will also be trying to win. The hope is that while only 2 characters will be asked to wreak havoc everyone will take part, and if they’re cunning like a certain Slytherin maybe try to attract a few votes themselves, take votes away from the real character.
‘Oh, can I have my character stand on their broom mid air and attempt to stage dive the crowd to get votes?’. Well… no. That wouldn’t be canon! All ‘stunts’ must be possible in the canon of the quidditch game, this is still Quidditch!
“You’re disappointing me here Mary, can I at least have my beater’s bat swing backwards and crack open my skull to ooze blood everywhere?”. Sure, but you will be removed from the game due to injury. The quidditch page is still down, but it will be back up in time for the game. When it’s up we will let you know and it will be updated with new information about hit points. For those who do not know, hit points are the points you have that slowly decrease or increase, depending on how much you get hurt/heal. IC stunts can affect your hit points if you do something that could harm your character, and once your hit points are gone… so are you.
Now remember everyone, sign up for your house teams and get ready for some interesting quidditch!

Just a quick update, by this point both Slytherin and Gryffindor do have a player selected and ready to go.
Nobody but the Slytherin player and captain know the Slytherin player, nobody but the Gryffindor player and captain know the Gryffindor player; this means everyone is eligible to compete for at least one! As such, there will be two prizes awarded, one for whoever gets the Slytherin most often and another for the Gryffindor.
Please submit all votes to me (Mary) by PM before the end of each round. Each site member only gets one vote per round, no matter how many characters you may have. Any votes that reach me after Hooch posts the end of a round will count for the next round, so remember to be as prompt as possible to get the best chance at winning! You are not required to vote every round, however it may do well for your chances if you do.
Winners will be announced shortly after the end of the match.
Best of luck to all!

The results are in!
First off I would like to congratulate all who participated, you made it a very interesting Quidditch match, a great read! Personally, I would deem this trial a success!
Next, for the sake of interest I am going to announce who got voted for and how many times!
Gryffindor
Oscar was voted most often at 9 times! Next was Riley at 7 votes! Trailing a bit was Cassandra with 2 votes!
Slytherin First came Wynd with 7 votes! Next Dylan and Olivia tied with 3 votes each! Josephine acquired 2 votes of her own, both after fouls if I recall correctly! Finally, Drake and Kailyn each gained 1 vote!
Congratulations to all of you, people obviously enjoyed your posts!
Now it’s time for the big reveal!
Oscar was in charge of making the Gryffindor team stand out while Wynd was pushing the Slytherin spirit! People seem to have known!
Finally, thank you to all who voted! It was great to see some participation. Normally I will announce these by who won each team, but because the order remains the same I will just make one list.
In Fourth place is Oscar, voting once for Wynd. Third place goes to Wynd who voted twice for Oscar. Second place belongs to Ivy who voted Oscar twice and Wynd once.
…
…
First place goes to Drake! who voted both Oscar and Wynd five times! You will be contacted about your prize shortly!
((Note: The name of the first prize winner is in black, to read it just highlight over it. I did this to annoy said winner *smile*))

For the upcoming Hufflepuff vs. Ravenclaw match beginning on Thursday, 11 December, the mole game will continue as usual. Each Captain will choose the mole for their team and everyone who wishes to participate in this game will need to PM Mary each round - those of you who have participated before will know the drill. :) Enjoy the game!

Apologies for the delay in this, but the mole game is still in action for the Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw match! Both Captains Cassandra and Celia have chosen their moles, so read every player's post carefully and see if you can suss out who is the mole! The same rules apply (see above), so get your votes into Mary! Now, a quick summary of what has happened so far in guessing the mole! Thank you for Joseph for this: OctoberGryffindor vs. SlytherinFinal Score: 180 - 20Moles: Oscar Flynn G6 and Wynd Lehane S6DecemberHufflepuff vs. RavenclawFinal Score: 0 - 150Moles: Sydney Rawson H6 and Adriahna Dynes R5JanuaryRavenclaw vs. SlytherinFinal Score: 30 - 160Moles: Theo Darke R6 and Pyro Blackfire S7MarchGryffindor vs. HufflepuffFinal Score: 10 - 180Moles: Casey Allen G5 and Seth Wright H7JulyGryffindor vs. RavenclawFinal Score: 150 - 20Moles: Trinity Bleu G5 - Edward Summers R5AugustHufflepuff vs. SlytherinFinal Score: 0 - 0Moles: -

Now that the Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw match is over, it's time for you to vote for the moles on each team! There have been slight changes for the Mole Game, so read carefully!
Rather than having to PM Mary every round with the players you believed to be the moles on both teams, we would like you to vote once and send these votes to whoever is organising the Mole Game for that match. Normally this is Mary, but since it's her birthday this weekend I will be taking care of the voting.
The above rules still count. You as a member may vote once (not once per character) for one person on each team of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw - meaning you can vote for two players altogether. Please send these votes to myself (username = ariane). You have a week to send this to me and the results will be announced then.
Please give the moles a guess even if you didn't read every single Quidditch post. We would like as many people to vote as possible. To give you extra incentive, the member who guesses the most correct moles over the course of the year's Quidditch matches gets to add one experience point to their Quidditch player of their choice!
So what are you waiting for? Get voting now!

I can now reveal the moles for the Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw match! Sadly, though, I only received one vote - from Zoey Shay, aka Britt. Thank you, Britt, your vote is very much appreciated! Britt voted for Scott Ryder G6 as the Gryffindor mole and Sandy Hart R4 as the Ravenclaw mole.
I can announce that these are wrong. The moles were in fact Trinity Bleu G5 for Gryffindor and Edward Summers R5 for Ravenclaw!
Onto the prize-giving: because of the confusing and disorganised nature of this year's Mole Game, we only have one winner - Adam (as Drake), who voted correctly for Oscar and Wynd in the Gryffindor vs Slytherin game. However, we do not seem to have voted for the games between the first and the most recent one.
Therefore, I would like to award Adam two experience points, one for each correct vote, to be added to any Quidditch-playing character(s) he wishes. I would also like to award Britt one experience point to Zoey for being the only voter in the Gryffindor vs Ravenclaw match! Not only did she vote, but she also sent me her vote minutes after I'd put up my previous important notice, so thank you again, Britt!
Britt, I will add your extra experience point onto the list for you. Adam, you can add yours at your own discretion.
The Mole Game is still in effect for the final game of the season, Hufflepuff vs Slytherin, so keep a sharp eye out on those posts. Do not send me your votes until the end of the match, when I will post here asking you to start voting. Remember, even if you are not participating in this match, you can still vote! The winner will receive one experience point for the Quidditch player of their choice. I hope to get plenty more votes this time!
Please note: the only people who will not be able to vote for both moles are the Captains (and Vices, if they are privy to the knowledge too) and the moles themselves. However, you will be able to vote for the opposing team's moles, so please do that!

The Hufflepuff vs. Slytherin game is over and that means that voting (or guessing) for the mole game can now commence!
You may guess the one person on each team who you think was the mole for that team, or just one if you don't want to vote for both (but you are encouraged to!). You have approximately one week to PM your guesses to me, Ivy, with a deadline of midnight on the 28th of August.
But don't delay, guess today! You have nothing to lose from guessing and you might just get experience points for your Quidditch players by participating!
Please note: the only people who will not be able to vote for both moles are the Captains (and Vices, if they are privy to the knowledge too) and the moles themselves. However, you will be able to vote for the opposing team's moles, so please do that!
Good luck, everyone!

We have our results for the mole game of last year's final match! In the game between Hufflepuff and Slytherin, we had four people submit votes for the moles. Here were the votes: Izy – N/A* and Kailyn Britt – Ivy and Kailyn Adam – Ivy and Stephen Viv – Sita and Kailyn *Izy selected the mole and thus could not vote for the Hufflepuff mole. Now, onto the results! First up, Slytherin unfortunately did not select a mole for this match! Thus, all four of the participants who voted for a Slytherin mole will automatically get a point for being correct, since no mole was selected. And, for the Hufflepuff mole...... ..... ..... It was Ivy! Thus, Adam and Zoey earn a 2nd point for guessing this correctly. That brings the totals to 2 apiece for Adam and Zoey and 1 apiece for Izy and Viv. Congrats to all who participated. For the entire year, here are the overall mole winners: Adam - 4 exp. points Britt - 3 exp. points Viv - 1 exp. point Izy - 1 exp. point This game is an EASY way to gain exp. points for your players if you just take the time to participate. Hopefully we'll have a better response in the upcoming school year, as Quidditch is just around the corner. Happy moleing! ((Britt, Viv, and Izy.... please contact me with the players that you would like to give your exp. points to so that I can make the adjustments before this Quidditch season starts!))
