Welcome to the team, Sita and Billy! I liked your auditions very much! ;D
Hehe.
You've both been accepted onto the team as reserves, so... welcome! Do go show up in the team owl.
Madam Hooch, Sita's preferred positions are Seeker and Chaser; Billy's preferred positions are Beater and Keeper. Thanks!
Billy, your audition is below:
Name of Character - Billy Brady
House - Hufflepuff
Year - 5th
First Desired Position - Beater
Second Desired Position - Keeper
“Right, fine. If I must” Billy said to Sita, rolling his eyes, as she suggested auditioning for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team. He didn’t really have anything against it, as he liked flying, and used to enjoy practicing along with Rex, before they well out. He knew that half the present team were 7th years and hence leaving at the end of the school year, and the other half were 6th years, which was the main reason Billy agreed to audition with Sita. Though he was sure she would have somehow been able to persuade him anyway, knowing her. “I know I’ll be alright, and I’m sure you will too.” He said as she grabbed his arm in her nervousness. “and I’m nowhere near as good as Rex, but, umm, thanks…”
They had arranged to audition one afternoon when they were free, and decided to meet over by the quidditch pitch just before their audition times. As neither had their own brooms, they borrowed school ones – old Comet 260s, which were past their best, but still good enough to fly on. Sita pushed Billy into onto the field first when they were called out, as a beater, and he flew out onto the pitch, slightly nervous but pretending not to be – he would be fine, and he knew it. For the audition he just had to hit some targets with the bludgers, while defending others, to imitate the skills of defence and accuracy more than anything.
The whistle blew, and the bludgers were let loose. Straight away one was flying towards him, and the other was heading towards a target on the other side of the pitch. He flew, bat in hand, closer to the one approaching him, aiming to hit it at a target about a third of the way down the pitch that was in an open place to hit at. He swung the bat, and he heard a loud clunk as it hit the heavy metal ball, which hit that target a few seconds later. His next priority was the other bludger heading towards the target at the other end, which he flew to and tried to deflect it to a target closer to the other bludger.
This continued for a while, with variable success, before he was then tested on his keeping skills. He hovered around the goals, as chasers attempted to shoot at him, and he had to defend the hoops. This was a weaker skill for Billy, but he managed to save a fair number of the quaffles shot at him. He thought that the audition went as well as it could have gone, and joined Sita as they waited to hear what Ivy and Chace would say.
