I already sent you a PM (and I believe that Drake also did) about how to get started on Four Houses, with links to our New Members section which has useful explanations on it. If there's anything you don't understand after reading that, just post in this owl or Talk to the Staff and I (or another staffie) will be happy to answer any further questions you may have that.
To view your PMs, look to the top of your screen. There it will say 'Hey, wendy048, you have 2 messages, 2 are new' or whatever it says. Click on the bit that says '2 messages' and it'll bring up your inbox so that you can read your individual PMs.
You need to get approved with a character before you can participate in classes or the Duelling Club - the New Members' Section gives details about getting approved. Once you're approved, you can join a class (so long as it is for the year group of your character) by posting a reply in the relevant thread in the Classes board. To participate in the Duelling Club, send an owl to Professor Suivant and post in the Plots board to see if you can find someone who's willing to duel with you.
