I think that it would be a good idea to get a game started as soon as possible!
According to canon, the first match of the year is between Gryffindor and Slytherin. We don't have to stick strictly to canon in this respect, but unless any other team captains wish to volunteer their teams for the first match of the year or either captain has very strong objections, those are the teams I would suggest play in the first match.
I have gone through and updated everyone's rosters according to which characters are still on the One Click Student Wall after the census and updated the years of your players where necessary. Where I have access to your team owl as a member of your team, I've put the most up to date team roster up from your owl.
Slytherin, you have plenty of players who are around on the boards, so you shouldn't have any problem getting a starting team together. I am very much hoping that you'll agree to play in this first match - whoever you end up playing against! If it's going to be very difficult for you, please let me know.
Gryffindor, I appreciate that things are going to be difficult for you, especially since with it being September Melody won't be able to be on your team roster! (My plot for her has her locked up in a young offenders' institution...) However, there are some Gryffindors around who aren't on your team yet, and I will send those people an owl asking them to show some house spirit.
If you are still unable to field a full team, in the past staff have occasionally allowed volunteers to make temporary characters just to play in the Quidditch game so that it can go ahead. I think that your situation might well be dire enough that this would be allowed for you. They would come with no experience points, and wouldn't be allowed to build up experience points for if you needed them in a game later on in the year (unless the member playing them subsequently decided to take them up as a proper character). They're not necessarily supposed to be good players (that would depend on the luck of the rolls), but are simply a solution so that you can have a relatively active player in every position that you need one. All you would need to do would be to find volunteers willing to play the additional temporary characters. They could be people already on your team. I would be willing to play one up until the end of September.
I feel that you're being thrown in a bit at the deep end! If you're having difficulties with it, please PM me or talk to me on MSN (you already have me on MSN), or else to another helpful member of your team. If you can't get your team organised, hopefully we can get another team to play instead... but you are going to have to play at some point!
Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw, if either of you would like to volunteer your team to play in the first match, you would probably be able to play in place of Gryffindor, unless Gryffindor really want to play at the moment (which seems unlikely to me).
