Very poor reception from the local wildlife!
I'd seriously JUST stepped outside the door of the B&B, no more than five minutes after arriving, literally just stepping outside and I felt something wet drop on my head. It came from a bird.
It's almost such bad luck that it could belong in a film? I would ask you not to laugh but I expect that you already are, so... well. There we go. *sigh* With any luck, things can only get better from there!

Oh Izy! *huggles you*
When you've settled down, do give me a call if you're free. I'd love to hear all about it. I do envy everyone else leaving aeons before me. ^^;;

Awwww no! I'm guessing you're in college now, hopefully your room's warmer than the one you had back in December! GOOD LUCK for the next 8 weeks - I would say call me when you can, but I expect this week at least we'll both be rather busy! Give me a call when you can anyway. I actually can't wait till tomorrow . I presently have cookie dough in the fridge (following the same recipe as last time Izy, but with FULL measures this time, and so far it's going well. Oh, and smartie things instead of chocolate chips, woop!). And Viv, Good Luck to you too for next week . York starts extremely late! I'll see you both in the Christmas holidays sometime, if not before! But until then, we have phones and the internet so it'll be easy enough to stay in contact!

*currently experiencing 'oh no I'm going to spend my whole life working and not have any time to make any friends' panic*
My radiator does not work... yey for fan heater! But will have to get college maintenance onto my radiator before it gets REALLY cold.
Anyhow... got my internet working for the time being - it is somewhat temperamental. I now know when my lectures are and will soon find out when my lab classes will be. I'm looking forward to being able to organise my time... has been very hectic since I arrived!
Oh, and I'm now not doing Physiology of Organisms. I'm doing Evolution and Behaviour instead. So Chemistry, Materials & Minerals Science, Maths A and E&B. Yey! Eep!
Both the organ scholars here are quite wacky! The junior organ scholar is a NatSci... not sure that he works very hard. He talks a lot, but he's okay. Senior organ scholar, Ben... particularly wacky on first impressions but he seems very nice, and I've been put on the organ list! Open choir rehearsal tonight.
Anyway, very busy! I think that I was supposed to have been sent some maths questions over the summer holidays... apart from that I wasn't... so I now don't have an awful lot of time to do them.
All in all, I don't really know when I'll next be able to come on Four Houses - have only come on now in order to just say hello because I don't want to be completely out of contact.
*huggles*

Good to hear you're doing well, Izy! I'm sure you'll make time for friends; you always do. (;
I'm currently in the last-minute, OH-MY-GOD-HAVE-I-GOT-EVERYTHING stage. ^^;; I did my clothes and towels today... and have discovered a wardrobe I'd neglected for aeons, as well as the fact I can't fit everything into a huge suitcase. *fail* So, here's me, with big!suitcase, little!suitcase, several plastic boxes, several cardboard boxes, and a mirror, for good luck. xD
Hence, I've barely been on 4 Houses myself. Dx
Like I said, call me if you ever (lol) get a free minute; or just text me, I'll be glad to hear from you. Rest assured I'll tell you all about my experiences after this Saturday!

Just make sure not to break the mirror, then! But don't worry, I had tonnes of stuff too and it's all fitted very conveniently into wardrobe/chest of drawers/desk drawers. My room is lovely! And the heating is fixed now as well. Choir audition in less than 20 minutes - VERY nervous because I absolutely loved the experience of the open rehearsal yesterday and now I really want to get in... but there are loads of people around auditioning who've had singing lessons and obviously I haven't so am very unpolished! Plus lots of people have already had their auditions and not got in. Hopefully the fact that I am uber-keen (and Ben the wacky organ scholar knows it!) might count for something, because otherwise I'm really not going to get in... I hope that everything goes really well for your move. My internet seems to be a bit happier now so hopefully that'll last...

Good. But I'm afraid I may earn a good deal more clothes than you, upon a days' worth of clearing out. That doesn't even include the bag I've thrown into a charity bag. *sweatdrop*
My room, I imagine, will be small. I don't know if I've told you, but I'm living in a house (my court, in my college, has 26 houses, listed A-Z - I'm in R - each inhabited by ten students), where there are three floors (two bedrooms and the kitchen on the ground floor and four bedrooms each on the other two floors, plus two bathrooms); I'm hoping to be on the first floor. A bonus is that every room has a wash basin. I will treasure this, because it means I can brush my teeth and stuff in the morning and at night without arguing over the bathrooms. ^^;; It's meant to be quite new too, but still - small!
Hope your audition went well! I can imagine it's very competitive down there. James tells me that York has about six or eight different choirs, ranging from gospel to different styles, and I can join more than one. One of the gospel ones, he says, does not require audition, but he says it's rather painful for those who want to seriously sing, lol.

The room I saw on the open day at York was a reasonable size, actually, so you might be okay! I have a wash basin too, and also wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table, desk, desk lamp, coffee table, fridge!!! Not bad, eh? But my rent is relatively high for the college.
Gotta rush...

GREETINGS FROM DURHAM!! So yeah, I've been kept busy, and only got my internet properly sorted yesterday. By a guy known as Panda, who has 3 screens on his desk, on one of which he was watching House when I went to see him, who's an IT genius. But yeah. Yesterday I had my university matriculation, and WE WENT THROUGH HOGWARTS. Well, obviously not literally, but the cathedral cloisters is where the Hogwarts cloisters are filmed. So on the way through we were basically talking about Harry Potter-ness. Quite funny, given we were in our gowns, and one of my friends looks a bit like HP himself... Just been to my first lecture, which was an introduction to the Cell Biology module I'm taking. I'm now free till 4 when I have a medical thingy (like, registering with the local GP and stuff), then a chemistry lecture after that. Ooo, and a Mexican-themed formal tonight...I brought the sombrero you got for me in Barcelona . It's already had a few admirers! My room is alright, though it's not refurbished so the furniture is rather old. I'm in a shared room, and we have 2 beds, 2 wardrobes, 2 desks, 2 bedisde tables, 2 bookcases, 2 lamps...and a sink. Oh, and chairs . I have a nice view, though my friends at one of the other colleges (St Aidans) up loads of steps keep going on about their view over Durham. But yeah, the steps up there are a pain (I've been to visit them a few times...they're all in rooms at the end of the same corridor, which is a bit weird), but their rooms are very nice. I've been talking to quite a few people around my college...though I've not really...connected with anyone, if that makes sense? And I'm really shy when meeting new people. So I've been spending quite a bit of time with the Aidans people...which has been fun, but I feel guilty about it in a way...maybe I'm just paranoid, but hey. What else have I done...well...Sunday I basically just unpacked, met people, then late in the evening went over to Aidans for a bit with one of my Trevs friends. Ooooo, we had a Formal too . Monday, college matriculation which went on for ages, then intro talk in the afternoon and a party thing in the Bar ("T at Trevs") which was excellent fun. Tuesday, registration and Freshers' Fair (didn't sign up for much at all, heh), went to Aidans again for a bit but felt guilty. And yesterdayyyy...matriculation and Freshers' Fair again, and in the evening there were a couple of things in college and then the Freshers' Hawaiian Bop thing at the union, which was really fun. And I've realised I'm hopeless at pool. And Will got sortof drunk off Whiskey (he DID have 3 doubles though, that's a lot of alcohol...and didn't taste that good either), which was pretty funny hah. I think that's all there is to say really. Think I'm gonna go and find people soon, but I have no idea who's around. Not sure when I'll be online again (probably later today or tomorrow), so hope you're having a good time at Cambridge Izy, and good luck for this weekend Viv
