Hi again everyone!
I haven't been on in a while. Heck, I need to delete my vacation post, since I've been back from Latvia a few days already. I'll get round to that and completing other house-keeping issues later.
The main reason for this owl is to say a final farewell to you all. In the past... three years and nine months, I have had a really fabulous time here on Four Houses. I am delighted I had the luck to know the very tenacious girl who ran this place so wonderfully back in 2007! ;) Thanks to her, I found you guys, and I fell in love with role-playing - making my characters and plotting away busily - and I made some friends for life along the way.
I have 'left' several times, but I've always said 'I'll be around, you won't see the last of me, real life is just insanely busy and I need to pay more attention to it', but this isn't one of those goodbyes. This is a farewell, a final sayonara to you fantastic people and this amazing website that has given me so much in terms of enjoyment, talent and friends.
My leaving has been coming for a while; I've only mentioned it to Izy and Kia so far, and neither of you were particularly surprised. I'm not one for staying if there's nothing to stay for, and you may have noticed I haven't posted at all recently. It's true that real life had its hand in that, but I quickly realised that it was also because there was no longer any inspiration - I've turned to fanfiction, for good this time, and I can't look back. Role-playing doesn't do it for me anymore, even though I'll always love it with all my heart. The inactivity of Four Houses has made my decision easier, but it is by no means my reason for leaving. Nothing can stop me writing when I want to write.
What I'm trying to say is, the only things keeping me here are my friends, and I have a lot of you on Facebook or Twitter. It's not like we talk much on Four Houses anyway, and it's time to leave for good and not return if what's keeping me here isn't a mixture of fun, writing and friends. It's time for me to let go because my time - my journey here - is over.
I'll still talk to you guys. Izy, I'm easily closest to you, since I've known you for almost eight years now, and we see each other on a somewhat regular basis (when you're not being drowned in work!). Kia, you're my closest Internet friend because although we don't always speak to each other frequently, we have our playground together on the Internet, and you're only a few stops away on the train. I'd like to thank both of you for making my time here on Four Houses so incredibly fun. *huggles* It helped my relationship with you grow closer, Izy, and Kia, my friendship with yourself and Adam are easily the best things I take with me from this journey that's about to end.
Of the members who still remain, I'd like to thank Mandi for holding up the site and for the good times when we used to plot; to Joseph, for being her right-hand man and my Vice Captain for the Ravenclaw Quidditch Team back when Theo was still Captain; Ashley and Julia, for the time when we were Staffies together, I will never forget it; and everyone else who I've posted with - Dylan, Kathryn - thank you. Of those who have left, I miss you so much, thank you too for the good times, and I hope you're all well.
Like I said, I won't be logging on again but for house-keeping things. Staffies, I've told Kia what I want to keep in terms of my accounts. Thanks in advance. That said, I want to congratulate Kia again on becoming the newest Staffie! I wish the four of you the best of luck keeping this awesome place alive. Should you ever need me, you know where to find me!
Lots of love and best wishes to you all,
Viv
