Plot Summary
Aaron Byers and Ingrid Lewis have been best friends since their first year. They had collided with each other unexpectedly at Diagon Alley, which soon lead to a growing friendship. With their positive outlook on life, and love for pulling pranks, they seemed a perfect pair.
Their first year at Hogwarts went by with many laughs and more friendships. When Ingrid falls ill and is hospitalized she changes. Her once peppy attitude was replaced with bitter emotions. Once their second year rolls on by, Aaron notices the change in his best friend. He tries to make her happy again, but nothing really works. His immature views get in the way of trying to help his best friends. They start to drift apart that year.
Life seems perfect for Aaron, but is soon turned upside down. Aaron had gotten into trouble with an older boy, and soon was placed in the hospital after being stabbed in the back. Aaron plummets into a swirling dark depression causing him to push Ingrid away. Reluctantly, she steps aside, leaving Aaron to find himself again. Aaron's depression is turned upside down as he realizes that there are worse things that could happen. He was lucky unlike some of the other children at the hospital.
Aaron returns back to Hogwarts the following year a changed person. He still feels a deep emptiness inside that couldn't be overcome. Could Ingrid be the key to happiness? Could she pull him from the long way he had fallen? Or would things take a turn for the worst?
This is a story about finding yourself, but most of all, about finding love in the one person who was always there for you.

Fleetly Flee I Fly - Ingrid faints and is recovered by her friend Nathaniel. This is only the beginning of Ingrid getting diagnosed with anemia.
All Systems Go Home! - Their first year has ended with a long train ride home.
Badly Wrapped Gift of Love - Its the middle of their second year after Ingrid had gotten sick. Aaron gives her a present.
Hidden Feelings No Longer - During the Valentines Ball, Aaron scoops Ingrid away from Sita causing a fight between the three. This will be the last time Aaron will see Ingrid.
How to Save a Life - Aaron gets in trouble from hitting on another boy’s girlfriend. Things soon get out of control and he was stabbed in a dark alley.
When the Bright Lights Don't Receive You - Ingrid is the first person to know about Aaron getting stabbed. She rushes to the hospital to only be pushed away.
The Best Things are Free - It’s the beginning of their fourth year when finally Ingrid confronts Aaron for the first time that year. Janine interrupts their conversation only to have Aaron ask Ingrid to the Winter Ball.
