Homicide.
Aviva Jade Morgan, Dawn McGrogan, Matthew Harper
Cole Waters, Captain Kragen, Viola Hudson, Derek Alsbrow, Diane Morgan
When separated, Aviva Morgan and Matt Harper are the best there is. They are young, brilliant, and extremely quick witted. There’s just one little problem. With their bold and arrogant personalities, it’s damn near impossible getting them to get along. Aviva, the daughter of the man known to be a “modern day Sherlock Holmes” is beautiful, confident, and cold as stone. Ever since her heartbreak and her previous partner’s death, Aviva finds no reason to include anything but business in her life. Matt Harper on the other hand, is the new guy. He’s cocky, good looking, and eager to prove himself. He was just recently promoted and to test his limits, the Captain decided to stick him with Ms. Morgan. With two brilliant minds such as themselves, criminals would go cowering to their mothers, right? Wrong. With all their bickering, it’s difficult if not near impossible to get their caseload taken care of. But they’re going to have to, because the city’s murderers aren’t going to go easy on the two new partners.
In fact, just when Aviva and Matt are starting to cooperate, London’s criminals throw a curve ball; one in the form of three very cryptic murders. Because Matt and Aviva work for a muggle precinct, they don’t deal with many magical issues. That doesn’t mean they never happen. When a psychopathic serial killer leaves clues to their identity in each murder they commit Aviva and Matt find themselves on a wild goose chase to find the identity of the killer. After the third mysterious murder, Slytherin graduate Dawn McGrogan enters the picture. Aviva is hell bent on getting her to Azkaban, but what if things are not really what they seem? It wouldn’t be the first time Aviva and Matt got things crossed. As the two start to zoom through their cases, Matt and Aviva learn to work as a team. It’s starting to seem like they are getting beyond just tolerating each other. But the McGrogan case looms over them with no hint at a solution. Lines are crossed and patience is tested. Will the madness ever end?
The Usual Suspects : Aviva investigates yet another murder while on the job by herself. She's still getting used to working alone, but she won't have to for long.
Morning Tea, Perhaps? : Finally receiving his promotion to Homicide, Matt decides to tie up some loose ends before he meets his new partner. Harper finds himself at Viola Hudson's apartment, where apparently there had been some sort of a robbery. Matt finds it hard to maintain focus though, because of course, he is a man.
Not What I Expected : Matt Harper and Aviva Morgan meet for the first time. Let's just say neither of them met up to expectations.
Aviva Time, Interrupted : Aviva's alone time is put to a halting stop when a new case shows itself to Aviva and Matt. It's the first magic related case and it's up to them to find out who is behind it.
Get a Life Aviva! : Aviva is literally dragged to a bar by her wacky cousin and when she's there, she meets a very interesting man named Derek Alsbrow. Aviva lets her guard down for the first time in quite a long time in a fruitless attempt at somehow proving a point. Oh Aviva, what mess have you gotten yourself into?
