The Protagonists:


Chace Coxen H7
The second eldest in a family of five siblings, Chace is the oldest boy,
the quiet one, the one Bruce never noticed in favour of Cora.
He has Seth, his best friend, and Lara, his girlfriend, and he's never asked for anything more.
But suddenly, all that changes.


Seth Wright H7
Seth was born into wealth that was stripped away, leaving him in poverty,
a helpless single man to help his mum and baby sister.
Bullied and hated and ignored, Seth has always been insignificant and unloved. Until Chace.
Seth loves Chace. He knows he does. Chace is his saviour, his guardian angel, his best friend.
Nothing more... but yeah; that's gonna change.


The Siblings:


Cora Coxen-Hughes
Chace's elder sister, the oldest of the Coxen brood, Cora is ambitious and proud -
basically the exact opposite of Chace.
Still, they get on pretty well. That is, until everything goes wrong.


Connor Coxen H4
The baby of the family and also known as 'Mini Chace',
Connor is a younger version of his older brother.
He's kind, unselfish, generous... But despite their closeness and similiarities,
Chace fails to see his brother's needs until it's too late.


Oz Coxen G5
Chace's middle brother and the second half of the twins,
Osmond - 'Oz' - was born to make trouble and cause strife.
He never asked for Bruce's forgiveness, and he never will.
But soon it'll be too late anyway.


Riley Coxen G5
Chace's youngest sister who refuses to back down from butting heads with Cora,
Riley is the first half of the troublesome twins; the brains, the plotter.
With Oz round one finger and her bitterness against the world in her palm,
who knows what Riley will do to her splitting family.


Sandy Hart R4
Sandy is Chace's half-sister, who he doesn't realise exists until his father's death,
which shatters every conception Chace had of Bruce.
Chace never loved his father, not really, but he can't bring himself
to look at the girl
that symbolises his mother's hopes and dreams and true love shattering.


Evelyn Winter R5
The half-sister of Seth and Eva, Evelyn is very pious and Catholic.
She has been taught to be perfect, and most of all, avoid the sinners - Seth and Eva.
But Evelyn is drawn to the siblings she's never known, but lived next to all her life.
Perhaps reconciliation isn't too impossible. The new generation can surpass their ancestors' mistakes.


Eva Wright G5 [NPC]
Seth's little sister, Eva has endured school with Evelyn and pointedly ignores her.
She loves Seth very much; sometimes she acts more like the elder sibling.
Her desire is to see Seth happy... But what does she really think about Seth and Chace's friendship?


The Girlfriends:


Lara Thompson H7 [NPC]
Best friends with Willow and dating Mr Popular, Chace Coxen, Lara is one of the prettier,
well known girls in school. She always thought her relationship with Chace was strong,
even if she disliked Willow's boyfriend and Chace's best friend, Seth, but at least she accepted their friendship.
She just didn't expect Chace to choose Seth over her in the most important way.


Willow Walker H7 [NPC]
Willow is another Queen Bee, best friend of Lara, and amazingly, dating Seth Wright,
the dorkiest boy in school. However, even though she is with Seth she treats him more like a servant.
Still, the person Willow is most jealous of is Chace, because that's the one person
Seth will always value above her. And she plans to change that for good.


Plot Summary:



Meet Chace Matthias Coxen and Seth Ashton Wright: two Hufflepuffs, best friends in their seventh year at Hogwarts. Chace is good looking, quiet but popular. Seth is dorky, bullied and ignored. Neither really conform to society's norms; neither particularly care. They met, two different boys from different backgrounds, at the beginning of their second year on the Hogwarts Express, and upon that meeting their lives changed forever. They found a best friend in each other - a caring, loving soul that would listen to their every need, be there for every stand. Chace was Seth's protector from the bullies and poverty of his woeful life; and Seth was Chace's light and smile outside of his conflicted family. They knew each other like the backs of their hands - like brothers. Or at least that was what they both thought... until the day Chace had an epiphany, and things could never be the same again.

As Chace and Seth struggle on the road to discovering themselves, their emotions, and their feelings for each other, their journey, arduous and painful, will not be helped by two particular girls - Lara Thompson and Willow Walker, Chace and Seth's respective Hufflepuff girlfriends. And of course, the siblings from both parties - Chace with his two brothers, two sisters and a half-sister, and Seth with two little sisters - one of them a half-sister who lived next door to him all his life, and watched from supposedly her idyllic world as Seth struggled to survive - cannot be forgotten. Because the Coxens will rave - Cora will be shocked, Oz disgusted, Riley nonchalant, Connor worrying about everyone but himself, and Sandy won't even have a say as half-sister - and the Wrights and Winters will cross once more - Evelyn and Eva over boys, from Seth to Oz to Oz's best friend Oliver. Eva can accept Seth's apparent love for Chace, but Evelyn, as pious as she is - can she see past her half-brother's outward appearance, past his blood, past his sexuality, to love him for who he really is?

Casting everyone else aside for a moment, the main question is this: will Seth and Chace's relationship ever be the same again? Will they remain best friends forever? Will their friendship be torn apart for good? Or will, for once, love conquer all?

It's Cora's promotion party at the Coxens', and as usual,
Seth and Chace try to get away from the mayhem.
The next thing they know, Bruce is dead.
