Plot Name:
Bloodties
The Coxens:
Cora Coxen-Hughes
The eldest of the Coxen brood, Cora's only nineteen and already she's divorced.
Working for her father's company, Cora is her father's pride and joy, but her sibling's worst nightmare.
Can Cora accept her father's betrayal? Can her brothers and sisters accept her?
And what will Cora do when she falls in love for the second time with a taken man?
Chace Coxen H7
Chace is the eldest son and shadow of sister Cora.
His relationship with his mother is good, but his father is a different story.
However, Chace has best friend Seth and girlfriend Lara, so there's nothing to complain about...
Until Chace begins to see Seth in a different light; then their friendship will never be the same again.
Riley Coxen G5
Riley: the middle child, the mischievous, attention-seeker whom both her parents can't deal with.
Always rebelling, always seeking ways to throw Cora's perfect ghosts over her shoulder,
Riley's only problem is her partner-in-crime and twin Oz.
He follows her unquestioningly, but when Oliver appears, her hold fades too.
When Riley turns to drugs and Oz abandons her for another girl, who will help her then?
Oz Coxen G5
The middle male of the Coxens, Oz is a mischief-maker, and Riley's plotting genius makes him ten-times worse.
Only with Oliver's help does he calm down, but even his best friend won't be able to sway him
when he falls in love with possibly the hardest girl to get in the whole of Hogwarts.
Connor Coxen H4
Baby Connor, the last of the Coxens, is the most sensitive to his brothers' and sisters' feelings.
Always thrown from one to another like a rag doll whilst trying to cope with his father's disappointment,
Connor has only his friends to hold onto for happiness.
He is mum's precious child, her favourite, but even that can't save him. If anything, it worsens his pain.
Sandy Hart R4
The illegitimate unknown daughter of Bruce, Sandy's lived a life of solitude and neglect.
Her mother is too busy hiding her secret to care for her daughter;
as long as Sandy is alive she's her ticket to glamour and wealth.
So Sandy invented her own world with her own rules, but when she discovers her identity,
what's an outcast to do?
Bruce Coxen [NPC]
The father of six children, Bruce only really cares about one of them.

But then one day karma strikes and he drops dead, leaving his families
to untangle the lies he created and pick up the shattered pieces.
Yasmin Coxen [NPC]
Mother to five different and difficult children, Yasmin has always been a loyal wife.
She didn't think her husband would cheat on her again, and when Bruce dies she's devastated.
But then she discovers Sandy and Abigail and her world breaks again.
Tobias Murray [NPC]
Younger brother of Yasmin, Tobias has worked for Bruce's company since a young lad.
He gets on extremely well with Chace and relates to the eldest son, with no children or wife of his own.
But Uncle Tobias hides more than everyone realises...
Secrets about Bruce... Secrets about Abigail... and secrets about himself.
Abigail Hart [NPC]
Abigail Hart: Bruce's mistress of over a decade, she's always kept quiet to maintain her weathly lifestyle.
She loves Sandy, but she thinks her daughter impossible to get through to, and a disappointment.
She wanted Sandy to make Bruce proud, but when Bruce dies Abigail's fabricated lies also unravel to Sandy.
And Their Partners:
Jayden Westford
Jay, an ambitious, hard working Gryffindor graduate with everything going for him
joins Coxen and Co, only to meet Cora, the boss' brilliant daughter.
Jay has a loving girlfriend, Erica, at home, but even he can't deny his and Cora's attraction.
Can the loyal Jay choose between his heart and his head? And can he fight the chaos he's bringing about?
Dr Erica Ferguson
A friendly, caring healer, Erica works at St Mungo's and lives with her boyfriend Jay.
Jay is everything she's ever wanted in a man, and he's probably the best thing that's ever happened to her
since her mother died and her father turned to alcohol.
So when Jay drops the bombshell he's not as loyal as she had believed, will Erica be able to forgive him?
Seth Wright H7
Clumsy, klutzy, dorky Seth Wright, always laughed at and ignored because he's insignificant.
His father abandoned his family when he was two years old and since then Seth has been bullied non-stop.
Only when Chace Coxen arrives on the scene does Seth's life get better and better;
Seth even finds a girlfriend in his long-term crush, Willow, and life seems good.
Then Chace declares something that makes Seth do a complete 180.
Oliver Jackson G5
Oliver, caught between two so similar, yet so different twins. On one side there's Oz, his best friend.
On the other side there's Riley, who he thinks has hated him all their lives.
Always keeping Oz out of trouble, the last thing Oliver expects is for Oz to fall in love,
and for him to fall in love with Riley Coxen.
Evelyn Winter R5
Evelyn has always felt guilty. Her father left one family to join another, and now she sees Seth and Eva and panics.
Is it her fault their lives are how they are? She thinks so.
She's a devout Catholic, a perfectionist, cold and yet vulnerable.
The last person she's going to look at twice is Oz Coxen.
Grace Henfrey R4
Timid, quiet Grace, never noticed and never wants to be noticed.
She's the last in line of perfect siblings, and she just can't live up to the perfection.
Then she meets Connor, a boy who sees her for who she really is,
but when she almost loses him in a horrific accident she can't help but blame herself again.
Travis Jones S4
Travis has always had everything he wanted, from toys to respect to attention.
However, friends and love and relationships with other people? Don't kid Travis.
But bonding is a lesson to be learnt in life, and for Travis, Sandy is his ticket to the teaching.
What will Travis have to do to repay his new friend though?
Other Characters:
Peter Hughes [NPC]
Cora's ex-husband, Peter is an addicted alcoholic and gambler.
One day he's not there any more, and the next he's on the doorstep of his former wife
begging to be forgiven.
Samuel Ferguson [NPC]
Sam is Erica's little brother, her best friend. They clung to each other when mum died
and dad chose alcohol as his next new wife. Sam loves his sister to pieces,
so what will he do when he discovers Erica's boyfriend cheated on his sister, that his sister then cheated on him,
and now two women are pregnant?
Lara Thompson H7 [NPC]
Best friends with Willow and dating Mr Popular, Chace Coxen, Lara is one of the prettier,
well known girls in school. She always thought her relationship with Chace was strong,
even if she disliked Willow's boyfriend and Chace's best friend, Seth, but at least she accepted their friendship.
She just didn't expect Chace to choose Seth over her in the most important way.
Willow Walker H7 [NPC]
Willow is another Queen Bee, best friend of Lara, and amazingly, dating Seth Wright,
the dorkiest boy in school. However, even though she is with Seth she treats him more like a servant.
Still, the person Willow is most jealous of is Chace, because that's the one person
Seth will always value above her. And she plans to change that for good.
Eva Wright G5 [NPC]
Seth's tough little sister, Eva's been in the same year as Evelyn for five years and hasn't complained once.
She's wary of her step-sister, but she takes it like a man - and often acts like one.
Eva's a tomboy, a complete contrast to her 'weak' brother, but even Eva has a romantic side.
Will she get in Riley's way for Oliver's affections?
Jayci Foley H3 [NPC]
Connor's best friend, Jayci is the oldest in a big family like the Coxens,
but unlike the Coxens, they get along and Jayci is the favourite unlike Connor.
She’s the perfect little daughter and her parents adore her.
How will she react when Grace and Sandy come into the picture to steal her best friend away?
Plot Summary:
They say blood runs the thickest of all bonds. Well, if that's the case, the Coxen family can probably prove such a phrase wrong. On the outside the Coxens are just another regular family - albeit a large rich one. Bruce and Yasmin married young and had five children - Cora, Chace, Riley, Oz and Connor. Each and every one of them are as different as oil and water, and just like oil and water, most of them just don't get on. With the girls at each other's throats, Chace indifferent, Oz blowing on flames and Connor fighting to put them out, the Coxen children are like a pack of untamed wolves. To make matters worse, most of these problems stem from their parents; Bruce, the lying adulterer, and Yasmin, the struggling house wife. If it wasn't for Bruce's obvious favouritism for Cora the family may not be as split as it is today. Cora has always thrived under Bruce's love and nurture, whereas Chace has become uncaring, Riley bitter, Oz numb and Connor miserable. Yasmin's only confidante is her youngest son, and without realising it, her confiding is only shoving him further over the edge of sanity.
On the other side of Bruce's life lies Abigail and Sandy Hart. Mother and daughter lead a similarly wealthy lifestyle, also thanks to Bruce. Abigail has been his secret mistress for over ten years and is rewarded with a lot of Coxen and Co's revenue, unknown to everyone, especially Yasmin. Her daughter is Bruce's illegitimate child whom he cares little for, and she has no idea who her real father is. Sandy is just another oddball, just as odd as her step-brothers and -sisters, and another child to add to the disappointment list for Bruce. However, all good things must come to an end; all secrets are eventually revealed, and without anyone expecting it, Bruce dies. The Coxens mourn his loss in their own differing ways, whilst Abigail panics and attempts to claw her way into Bruce's finances, only to meet Yasmin head on and for the truth to spill over. Realising her late husband had been cheating on her and even reared another child, Yasmin struggles to come to terms with reality, and her children take it even worse. Cora cannot blame her dad, all Riley can do is hate him, and the boys wonder if they ever knew their father at all.
Poor Sandy meets the family she never knew, only for them to shun her for who she is when she's been shunned all her life. The only sympathetic person is Connor, always sensitive to others, and the two become friends. Connor meets Grace Henfrey, Sandy meets Travis Jones, and things seem to be going on track for the youngest children. However, is it a wonder that the older siblings' affairs will also dampen their moods? Cora and Oz fall in love with people they can't have, and Chace and Riley realise they harbour feelings for people they never thought they could love in such a way. But the Coxens aren't satisfied with breaking their own family, they have to extend bedlam into their friends and their families' lives too - Seth Wright and Evelyn Winter, Oliver Jackson, Jayden Westford and Erica Ferguson, and more. As feelings are revealed and chaos spins out of control, will any of the Coxens and their partners survive this last strike of misery Bruce inflicted on them all? And on the sidelines, will the adults sort their differences out?
Welcome, reader, to Bloodties; where every character is interlinked by friendship, by love, by trust, by fate, and most of all, by blood. This is when they all learn what the true meaning of family is.
