“I… I’m strong. I’m meant to be, anyway, you know?”
Plot Name:
Disenchanted
'She knows this boy.
She knows this boy, has seen this boy before.
She has even talked to him, confessed to him, cried to him; yelled at him, hated him, denied him.
But most of all, she wanted him; and for a split second, Ariane thinks she needs him too.'
Starring:
Ariane Chan G7
Ariane was a girl who always knew who she was and what she would become...
Until two boys appeared and shattered every notion of common sense within her.
Jez Cuthbert G7
Jez has always been trouble. He plots, he pranks, and he plays the game like a pro.
But even he didn't account for variable change.
Tristan MacCay S7
Tristan knows he's alone, but he doesn't think he's lonely. Not ever.
Not until one girl turns his world 180 degrees. This is the new him.
Featuring:
Aurora Chan H7
Ariane's best friend, cousin and confidante. They've been through everything together.
But when Ariane's life tumbles into boy trouble, Aurora's the last one to know.
Harmony Chan H5 [NPC]
Ariane's 'baby' sister, she swore she would protect Harmony the day she was born.
But as the world closes in on them, the sisters grow further and further apart,
until one day they realise things are just not the same.
Olivia Dawson S6
Olivia is a wild child, coming from a broken home. Outspoken; rebellious.
Dating Jez is one, but bringing Tristan into the equation too? And all over another girl.
Plot Summary:
Ariane Chan: a silent, antisocial Gryffindor with a stubbornness and fear to never make bonds with people, and a reputation of a cold Slytherin, only caring about two people in the whole world. Tristan MacCay: an outwardly arrogant Slytherin who has a fetish for videoing other people's affairs, and an equally renowned reputation, though he does have his soft spots. And Jez Cuthbert: a troublesome jerk who can tell deep down when he's hurting people but disregards it in the name of honour and fun; he is also well known throughout the school for always fulfilling his promises, whatever the consequences.
^ I'm not so bad, really... promise.
*swats Jez away* Now you're butting your nose into things! And you stole my colour!!! Noo! Ariane is NOT pleased! This is why they could never be together! The colours!!!
Okay, so you did steal my colour. Thank you for relinquishing it to the lady.
I did...? *looks disconcerted for a moment and then regains previous stance* I'm going to have to interfere/steal/hide enough of your other things, might as well get a bit of practice at it now.
*sigh* I can't believe I have to make Ariane stand back and let Jez do this to her. Aaah.
Merlin, far too much red for my liking really. *snickers* I do so love how I come out sweet with "soft spots" while Jezzy-bell is the "troublesome jerk."
Please don't call me that, or I will have trouble maintaining being scared of you. But the reason is that I made up my own description and felt it only fair to be honest, whereas yours comes from someone scared of retribution on behalf of someone with an Achilles' Heel of loveable, despicable soft spots. And Ariane I'm sure will react as is perfectly natural.
BOYS! *squeezes between Jez and Tristan*
*enjoys the closeness and considers the fact that Tristan wears pink shirts*
Boys, Ariane? I only see one boy here (and he goes by the name of Jezzy-bell, so boy is used loosely) and one man. *smirks*
*struggles not to take sides*
*fails*
Jezzy-bell, stop hitting Tristan!!! *yanks at Jez's arm* And stop "enjoying the closeness"!
(And someone editted this out earlier, but Jez is much brighter than Ariane, so shouldn't he be the bright red and Ariane the muted one?)
It's spelt 'edited', and you're the one doing the most NEWTs here too! Me, I have more important things to do. Like making that blonde hair a slightly more charred colour. *watches the smoke curling away from it with some interest* Personally, I'd prefer to be a boy than a bald old man.
*smirks at first cos Ariane takes his side and then scowls* How mature, Cuthbert. How very mature. How do you think you'll win her over that way?
Sorry, I spelt that wrong in haste. And Ariane is darn clever enough, that's why!! I ain't the one doing five AS levels in life! Hmph!
NOOOO! Don't burn his beautiful blonde hair!! Noooo!
The answer to your question, Watson, is elementary. It wasn't my intention anyway.
... *blink* My name isn't Watson.
(Ariane doesn't get jokes. Oh no.)
Hate to point it out, but you weren't the one who asked a question.
... If you don't want Ariane to give up on Jez forever, you'd better start acting like you care.
(Mwahahaha!!! Blackmail!)
And I just read Tristan's post. It's so cute! *squeals* Oh, the romantic side of me is coming out, ahaha. Now that is the way to a woman's heart. *sigh*
I will care, but I don't care yet and I'm hardly going to act as though I do. I only start caring after I've actually formed any respect for Ariane and then realised that I upset her... if I cared now, I'd never cause all the trouble, and we wouldn't have a plot at all, just another romantic story with only minor blips! And where would the fun be in that?
(By the way, I do think that the colours go together very well! Especially without any green in the middle of them.)
(Oh! And also just wondering, what are AS Levels? I've never heard of them... are they some weird Muggle sort of staircase? Like those ones where all the steps move upwards instead of staying still?)
... Fine. Fine. Doesn't improve your chances, just warning you...
I think the lime green looks lovely. *nod* Stands out nicely. And don't discriminate against Tristan just because he's a green Slythie and we're red Gryffs. Hmph. It doesn't mean anything.
... *sigh*
Jezzy-bell, you don't really have to have respect before you care, you know. I honestly do pity you. And the limegreen does look lovely, thank you, Ariane. Although... we do sort of clash like a Christmas tree... :-\ but that's all fine and dandy. Christmas is a jovial time. We just need to get rid of the darker red, don't we? and then it will be a perfectly happy time of year.
In all honesty, I actually think that the bright red and lime green together is the worst combination. Obviously dark red and bright red complement each other nicely, but the dark red and lime green together isn't actually too bad.
..........Although, wait.
No.No. No.
Okay, forget that I said that.
Yeah, forget it, really. Really.
... I do not like where you were heading there, Cuthbert. And I do not want to agree either.
*forgets it quickly*
Watch the three collide.
^ Of course, you already did up there, so this bit isn't really relevant anymore. But no matter. There's far more interesting stuff down below. Just I don't have a down arrow. One goes up, then there's <--- and --->, but no down. So you'll just have to find your way there yourself.
Jez, what ARE you going on about this time?
The directional inadequacies of Cupid's arrows.
Be creative, Jezzy-bell. \/ - down arrow.
*snickers but stops quickly*
That being the direction of everyone's opinion of you? Especially now that blonde hair is gone?
I'm crying on the inside, Jezzy-bell, I really am.
Hm... Can't believe I would be the one to start this. Can't believe I'm in the middle of it! *tries to get away from both of you*
Scalp's crying on the outside, though... it really is. *smiles and gives Ariane a chance to walk away*
*stubborn determined streak surfaces* NEVER! *stays put and folds arms* I'm not losing to a "troublesome jerk" to you.
I know a friend who I could get in to do the job for me. You already have a track record of losing against her. I know that because I've planted a... oh, that would be giving the plot away. Oh well. I'll have to find something else to talk about then. You know that you were actually trying to get away before? And if I had resisted that you would still be trying to get away. You shouldn't be so impressionable, Annie.
... *whinges* Aaaagh, I NEED TRISTAN TO COME BACK ME UP HERE!
..."Annie"? Oh, dear Merlin, please don't tell me you're calling lovely Ariane "Annie" Jezzy-bell. Ariane, I'd feel highly insulted if I were you. And Jezzy-bell, d'you realize that it is rather difficult to follow your train of thought. That's not a very good thing, you know.
She's supposed to feel insulted and irritated! Don't discriminate against me simply because I'm capable of carrying through my predetermined role in a plot!
The trail of thought isn't my fault, that's due to the person who writes me. If she had any sort of sensible head on her shoulders, she'd be able to replicate my thoughts far more clearly.
I am highly insulted. I invented "Jezzy" because I hated "Annie" so much. Hmph.
I can't really think og a good nickname for Tristan, ya know. You can't really shorten it to anything else but "Trist".
I took your advice with calling her 'Annie'. You did say that it was annoying, and that is quite clearly my early function in this plot.
And 'Trist' would only need an 'e' to mean 'sad', so that wouldn't be very fair.
Um, and... obviously I'm too stubborn to not have the last word, but we really do need to stop this now or there'll be no room left to add the next threads in the plot.
EDIT: Hey... that actually worked! I prevailed!
Five years at Hogwarts have gone. Ariane's mum is dead, and Ariane herself is still supporting a lethal self-inflicted injury which could've gotten her killed. On the train ride back to a new home, Ariane strikes up a conversation with the last person on earth she'd ever talk to - Tristan MacCay. Somehow, bandages - physical, mental and emotional - unravel themselves as both discover appearances are not ever as they seem.
However, what could have been is spoiled when Tristan ends up forcing Ariane into an odd meeting with Jez Cuthbert, Hogwart's very own 'troublesome jerk'. Only, Ariane has no idea the person she just 'bumped into' is even Jez. Slowly but steadily, Ariane's relationship with both these boys form; both detest each other, and Ariane thinks she hates Jez too. Tristan - well, she's not too sure. Finally, it comes down to whether or not Ariane will accept one of them fully into her life - and if so, which one?
