Definitely go see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist.
Oh and when you're done with that awesomeness, go and buy the soundtrack. It's equally awesome.
*ends praise*

Oooh. This is the one with the kid from Juno in it I think? *tracks youtube trailer* Yep, it is. Awesome. xD I was actually looking for some good new films to see. (; And Kat Dennings! She was in... Raising Dad. :0 I used to be addicted to that. Ahha. Thanks for the heads up. :3 And it always improves a film so much more when the soundtrack is worth listening to, glad to know it has a decent onee.

*envies you* I have no time to watch a film right now. *sigh* I will add it to my long, long list of want-to-watch movies though. I borrowed 'Closer' from a friend, starring Jude Law (yay!), Julia Roberts (nay! Sorry Roberts fans), Natalie Portman (yay!) and Clive Owen (um, who? ><; . Any good, folks? It's pretty old now. On the subject of movies, though, I can't believe someone like me who worships gay men and who has two gay (and the only two gay) characters on this site has not watched 'Brokeback Mountain'. Sheesh. *sweatdrop*

Hey hey hey! The only 'Openly' gay characters. Don't bother with Brokeback Mountain. It is three hours that you will NEVER get back. Go out and watch something fun like "Another Gay Movie" or "Cowboys and Angels." Or if you are looking for a drama I recommend "Angels in America" (six hours but soooo good ;D). Tony Kushner is a god!

"Hey hey hey! The only 'Openly' gay characters. " xD Stole the words right out of my... keyboard. "Don't bother with Brokeback Mountain." WHAAAT? *smacks you* Psh. Viv, you'll love it. Please watch it. (: Don't listen to what some people say, listen to those who share your love of Yaoi relationships. =D It's a beautiful film, and the fact that it has Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal in it just make it even more so. :3 I should watch that again. As for Closer, I've never seen it. =/ I dislike films like that, those I do class as a waste... they're just so predictable? Although I'm very much judging the DVD by it's cover on this one. I do however love Jude Law. ^^

It is a beautiful film if you like rolling landscapes and lush mountains. But if want a plot, go with something else. The hours it takes this movie to actually get a plot seem like days and days and days.... zzz...
But I agree, Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal help. ;D

Btw.... Dark Knight, Heath Ledger. Enough said.
and... Speaking of openly gay characters, Michael Cera's character in Nick & Norah is in a band with two or three completely drastically gay guys. So, openly gay, go see Nick and Norah. haha

(: I knew Dark Knight would come up. It's an amazing film. I've seen it too many times, I start quoting it randomly. I can't believe how brilliant Heath Ledger was in it though; I never would have thought him to play a role like that, it's so unlike most things I've seen him in. Another film I have to see again. :3 Shame it comes out in December. @_@
Nick & Norah is out January 10th 30th for us. =/ Fwaa. Too long.

Oh Lord. I totally take back what I said. I must have been very tired last night when I posted that to forget 4Houses has a grand total of SIX gay characters, one openly gay one, one secret one and four who have no idea of their own sexuality yet. xD Plus we have one character who will struggle with his sexuality but may not actually be gay. Fwaa. xD (Stealing Astrid's words - you're rubbing off on me!) Yay for the gays! xDDD Yes. Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal are to die for. I love Jake most, but Heath was wonderful (well, plain creepy, but a good creepy... if that makes sense) in 'The Dark Knight'. I hadn't even heard of 'Nick & Norah' until now. Maybe I'll see it when it comes out, but January is so far away. Mou... It's when I turn eighteen too, lol. On the subject of upcoming movies to be released, 'James Bond: Quantum Solace' went on the big screen in the UK yesterday! And I totally forgot yesterday was Halloween, so Happy Halloween, folks!

*coughs*my turn to add to this convo *coughs*
I agree with August on Brokeback Mountain. There wasn't a plot to it. It was three hours of confusing dialogue and random moments of seriously disturbing scenes. Don't get me wrong, I loved Ledger, and Gyllenhaal, but they have much better movies out there.
As for The [Neverending] Dark Knight...awesome acting from Ledger, but I'd rather get a bullet to the head than to sit through that horrendous movie again. Seriously, filmmakers need to get back to the basics again, because all these shoot 'em up CGI-heavy films are getting pointless and are wasting good screen time...and the fact that the Dark Knight is STILL playing in some theatres where I live is just down right annoying.

Not going to comment on the movies as I have not seen any of the ones mentioned and to be honest... don't intend to lol. But VIV! *bops Viv over the head* Clive Owen who? Tell me that was the tired talking! Clive Owen is only the sexiest actor... ever. I have a huge huge crush on him despite the fact that he's twice my age lol.

xDD Haha, I realised after a while I did actually know who he was. His name rung bells but none I seemed to recognise until I realised he was in 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age' (for any history fans it's a pretty good watch and Blanchett is awesome). No, I don't think Owen is sexy... not my type, I'm afraid!
But anyway, I ended up watching 'Closer', because I felt awful on Saturday and couldn't do any work (blame it on the time of the month...), so I sat down in front of the telly and watched it. The structure of the film was difficult to follow - I'd say it's like a book, I think those structures work better with books - but it was effective and original, even if it was jerky and confusing. The acting in it was good... I've always liked Natalie Portman and those two wigs looked amazing on her. The film itself... I didn't like how they portrayed relationships, but it is true many are like that nowadays, I'm sad to say. It was a depressing film and I had to watch 'Dodgeball' afterwards to cheer my mood up. xD That did the trick.
I wouldn't recommend 'Closer' to guys. xD But I would to girls who like to watch relationships that are meant to be realistic - betrayals, deceit, etc., and who like films with no happy endings. The twist at the end of 'Closer' is very, very good, I think. It really... makes you think. Everything you've watched on screen has just been a lie. So yes, it was a good film - better than 'Match Point', I had to switch that off halfway through, it was such a disappointment! - but I wouldn't watch it again. Not my style. The ending saved it.
Oh, and the soundtrack for 'Closer' - Damien Rice's 'The Blower's Daughter' - is amazing. I love the song - love the artist; I love his voice, his songwriting... everything. He had another song called '9 Crimes' in 'Shrek 3', which is a duet and is fabulous, and of course, I've advertised this in 'The Rant Thread' before and I've said it represents Theo and Oscar's relationship, but 'Delicate' is just... aaaah. Just ah. Wonderful. 'Cannonball', one of his more well-known songs in the UK, is great too.
Obviously if it's not your sorta thing then, well. You'll disagree. xD That's fine.
