From Charlemagne to Reformation: Directions of Change
When analyzing the rise of the Middle Ages, one might begin by tracing the actions and effects produced by Charlemagne who rose as the leader of the Franks in the late 700’s. During his reign, an established foundation for the Middle Ages and the medieval culture was brought forth by such advances as the standardization of monasticism, education in the church, and the title of Holy Roman Emperor which was first given to Charlemagne himself. All of these aspects, and many more, played a role in defining the concept of medieval culture, yet at the same time helped to lead to the change which was brought full circle during the time of “rebirth” known more formally as the Renaissance. Though notable changes did occur, some were more gradual while others were distinct. From the roots of Catholocism to the Reformation, this time span in English history produces a unique variety of philosophy, literature, and art which help to outline the development and transition.

I'd rather write a 10-page paper on cats (which I don't really even like that much) then try to sift through all this stuff. I have 2 and 1/2 more pages to go. WHAAA! *grumbles and gets back to the dreadfully thick textbook which doesn't even make much sense to me*
