Snow!

So, as some of you know I live in Canada, right near Toronto in fact. As well, I know I told some people yesterday that we were having a huge snow storm - well huge for us here - other cities of course get more snow than we do but they are used to it and have less people so it doesn't impact them quite so bad. Seriously, people were shutting down the city - everyone who could left work early - myself included. They were predicting that we could have gotten up to 30 centimeters, though my Mum just said that what really came down was about 18. Anyways, this is going somewhere I swear, Izy said she had never seen so much snow and asked I get a picture for her. Being the great friend I am I did it and figured other people may wish to see as well Here is across the street from my house. Down the end of the street - you can see that I took it from the window because you would be hard pressed to get me out in the cold without good reason lol. And finally the backyard, I love how you can see just how much snow is piled on the table. Also, just for interest, there was probably only about a centimeter of snow on the ground before midnight of Friday the 1st - meaning all that snow is new!

Kyaaah, so beautiful! the last picture looks like something out of a picture book! Oh, I wish we had snow over here. We had a few flakes last night and it was freezing, but nope, Manchester hasn't had proper snow since... 2002, I believe. And of course, I happened to be in Hong Kong at that point! Gah. I haven't seen beautiful snow since I was about eight years old... *sigh* Anyway, hope you Canadians enjoy it! I'm so envious!

Aww, those pics are perfect, just gorgeous! I love all the snow on the rooves of the houses across the street in the first one, and the snow in the third one is just so pristine-it couldn't've looked more so at all! I bet nobody wanted to go out into the back yard so the snow could be kept as pristine as possible . And as Viv says, we haven't had much snow at all. we had a bit overnight and some of the cars were covered in it but it wasn't really thick or anything. Ah well, we never get proper snow over here...according to another online contact it's due to some effect that's to do with an island...meaning that as we're nowhere near the coast we don't get the cold, I guess. Well, it IS cold, just not cold enough for snow . Though, being at the latitude we are we should be frozen over here in Britain =). But that's another story really.

Thanks for sharing, Lenora! We get that much snow here in Pennsylvania sometimes, though not as often as you probably. Snow pictures are always very nice to look at. We had an ice storm here at the beginning of the year. It was very bad for our city and such, but the scenery was AMAZING! Trees looked like glass tress and it was just so neat to see it all. I wish I had pictures!

Awww...snow...I hate it. Haha...yeah I know where you're coming from there. It's snowing here right now and has been for the last 48 hours. According to the records it hasn't snowed this much in 75 years. I'll see if I can get a picture for ya'all. Really I'd just prefer the negative 38 degrees we normally get as opposed to the 5 feet high snow drifts. Oh well. I guess that's like asking for water in the desert eh? Anyway...yeah have fun with that snow up there.

More snow! So we had another storm - apparently we got over 30 CM between the 6th and the 7th. So waiting for the bus, which was late, this morning I took two more pictures.

So, I have been collecting snow pictures again because... Izy asked me to haha. Figured I would pull up this old thread, and you can see how much more snow we have at the moment than then. I have more pictures but... my backyard looking white isn't that interesting lol.

Lol...I have to say that I'm thankful we don't have that much snow right now...or any for that matter. *Crosses fingers for today's forecast to be sunny and not snowy like predicted*
