I thought I'd just ask... what's everyone's favourite school subject (or academic subject, if you're not at school anymore?), and why? What's your least favourite and why? For me... I suppose the favourite has to be chemistry! Chemistry is really interesting, and also very satisfying - once you've understood the theory, the world suddenly makes more sense. You can go around thinking 'yeah, and ice is like that because of hydrogen bonding...' (and more exciting things still). Plus it has all the big bangs, fire, potential to gas out the entire school... what's not to like? Or, indeed, set fire to the fume cupboards with Phosphorus Chemistry really is fun Latin comes a close second though. I love Latin! amo Latinum! Yup. My least favourite... well, I didn't like Art much because the teacher was horrible and I have an atrocious lack of talent in the field of drawing/painting. I wasn't all that keen on Geography either, as I found it boring. Thankfully, I am now past the stage of my life where I was forced to take such subjects...

I love both English Literature and History, even though I'm only doing the former at university. I like English because it's amazing what lies beneath mere words, how clever writers can be, their limitless imaginations. I like History because it's really interesting to see what the world was like before my time, and what happened to make the world I live in today what it is.
I also love Art, but as a hobby rather than a subject, and Psychology too.
Least favourite subjects are easily Chemistry and Geography. I guess all science, really. Firstly because I find it hard and secondly because I have no interest in it. Geography I find rather boring and found it difficult in comparison to other subjects.

Favourite- Biology Reason- I like to gain knowledge about human beings & all living things. Because I love them. Least favourite- Chemistry Reason- No end of chemical reactions..................................

I have to say any type of Constitutional Law. It is so interesting, and quite addicting to say the least! I love to research all the ins and outs of it. It's exciting as well!

Nice thread, Ivy!
Favorite: Err....I'd have to say Geography. Reason: It's kind of cool with my teacher because she brought tacos when we were studying Mexico. I'm hoping she'll bring fish and chips when we're done with Great Britain. I love my fish and chips :]]
Least Favorite: Algebra. Reason: The teacher's a good teacher, but Algebra is HORRIBLE. I forgot everything but multiplying and dividing polynomials >.< And finals are in two weeks..... Agh!

Hmm...interesting topic Izy...now I have to really think about it.
Obviously one of my favorite classes was Ancient Literature, even though I had to drop the class I absolutely adored it. Reading great literary works is definitely something I thoroughly enjoyed while I was in the class.
Psychology was also a very interesting subject for me. I loved learning about the inner workings of the mind. Leave it to me to start diagnosing everyone that I came into contact with for a good month after I finished that class.
I loved my Photography course as well...and my music course...theatre courses...etc etc. Oddly enough I actually liked most of the subjects I took. I just had a problem with some of the professors and the homework. I feel that you learn better without such a strict homework regimen. I'm not sure if anyone else agrees with that, but I definitely learned/retained more from the classes I had little homework in and had fun in; like my amazing Chemistry course from my high school days.
Least favorite subject would probably be Math. I hate Math...okay so hate is a strong word, but I thoroughly dislike it mainly because all the teachers I had weren't very good. I actually went all the way to Calculus before I decided that Math was just not the right choice for me, though I think that was partly due to the fact that it was a 7am class.

Well, it's a hard choice between the 3 subjects I'm doing, as they all have their pros and cons. Biology I find really interesting (apart from ecology, urgh) and is easy compared to Chemistry Chemistry, I also love how it relates to the whole world, though it's definitely the hardest of the 3! And maths, well, I find relatively easy (except mechanics, urgh, and C4's horrible), but a lot of it is fairly boring. As for my least favourite...I'd have to say Art for the same reasons as Izy. I'm completely useless at it, and the teacher we had was awful. I also hated ICT while we took the GCSE as it was so tedious, dull and useless really. And the it was English in yr 11 as I didn't see the point of analysing texts in such great detail. I read to enjoy the story, NOT to analyse it! In lower years I enjoyed Latin, and despite being awfully dull French was pretty good as it was so easy. Physics was just meh. And RS was, quite frankly, a joke. I liked Geography and History too, but chose RS and Latin instead.

Awesome, a place to check out who can help you with a tough subject. After a bit of thought, I'd have to say my favorite subject is BC Calculus, or rather any math. Mathematical theories jut come naturally easy to me. It's kind of like how a duck knows how to say " Rabbit season!" You know what you call the third derivative of an equation involving speed? A jerk, ha! Any-who, I love math because it's the class that I don't have to over exert my mind because I'm always substantially well ahead of my classmates and teachers. It's like I'm always in warp drive in there.
Let's see, close runner-ups are Japanese, History, Criminal Psy., and Astro Physics.
My least favorite class would have to be English, just because I hate writing essays. Not that I'm not good at it, I just hate tacking time to write about something that holds no interest to me. If however, something really catches my fancy, I jump all over it. Thank you and that is all.
