Sadly I am a twitter now. I've only been on it, like, less than 2 weeks, and I've already racked up over 180 updates. ><;; Heh, I talk a lot! Anyway, just thought I'd say if anyone here has Twitter, let me know. I'm Vivitchi (but somehow searching me won't let you find me, silly thing). Follow me if you want a really noisy twitter, lol. I'm happy to follow any of you guys, but tell me who you are... I won't follow strangers and weird uh, company things... Like, I have 37 people following me right now and I think only 3 of them are real people. >>;; Lol. Sooo, who has Twitter? :D Speaking of Twitter, what do people who have it think of it? And what do people who don't have it think about it, if they know of it? I must admit, before I got it I thought it was kinda useless, pointless... I knew it'd suit someone like me who jabbers on about useless stuff all the time (lol), but I never saw its practical side until the problems in Iran and when I joined myself.

Erm... I know that this is a typical Izy question to ask, but... what is Twitter? I have heard of it but I don't really know what it entails.
By the way, we drew the cricket!!! And that is a really good result!

Twitter is a social webesite, something like myspace but on Twitter it's all about short messages about what your doing at the moment. If you know about Myspace think of it as a whole website just for bulletins.
twitter isn't good for huge messages, it's more about what your doing right now. As in "currently going to the store, I'm happy today or I love this person!".
;D If I had something important to write down I'd have a Twitter but I normally don't have anything to say.

I'm already following you but that is besides the point. I LOVE twitter, I just need an iPhone so I can keep up with it. I like that I can follow people like Neil Gaiman, Felicia Day, Melissa Anelli, and Alex Carpenter. You can hear about normal "celebrity" people anywhere... but the people I care about are more real people in the Harry Potter, Literary, or Internets world so... you kinda have to find out about them from them. So I think it's nifty. Oh and PostSecret... gotta love that Frank does that on Twitter now. For years I checked every Sunday religiously and now it's just more of what I love.

*huggles Ashley* I'm following you too! I also follow Julia and Justin 1. :D
I think Twitter is useful for several reasons. I can keep up to date with friends whom I wouldn't usually talk to or see much - such as 4Houses ones. I don't get to talk to Justin anymore so we sometimes interact through Twitter and he knows what I'm up to and vice versa. :)
I also like to follow some celebrities. I've never been into the celeb world but some of them have really interesting or insightful things to say that you'd otherwise not hear about unless you 'stalked' them. xD Plus, you get to see that they're people too and it humanises them a bit... takes them away from their TV personalities or whatever.
And, of course, with the whole Iran election thing last month, tweets about that can come flooding into other countries when there are no other ways of finding out, so it's definitely got a practical use there. :)
I used to think that Twitter was a waste of time like you, Matt, and for people who have nothing to say or who don't want to stalk celebrities, it is pretty much useless, heh. For me, it's like keeping a very short blog of my daily life. I've always been too lazy to keep a diary every day so this is pretty useful for that and I am challenged to do it in 140 characters. It also means my friends, like I've already said, can know what I'm up to. :)

Im beginning to see the side to Twitter that makes sense I'm sorry for saying it was pointless btw, if anyone thought that was a bit harsh.

Lol it's okay, I used to think it's like that, Matt. We're all entitled to our own opinions. ^^
