Sims 3

Seeing as I saw Mary mention it... does anyone have it and is it any good?
Whether it is or not, I think that I probably won't get it. Sims 2 has enough features that I don't feel the need for anything better (the annoying lack of weather problem finally sorted out, that was the main thing besides lack of aging!) and I think it would make my computer run even slower than it already does.
But I'm still curious to hear about it. ;D

I like it. You can branch out a whole lot more, and it is easier to navigate your Sim.

Visit the website, it looks really really cool. I just need to wait for my new computer before I can get it, seeing as it would likely crash my old one lol. Brian's building me an epic new computer so it shouldn't be too long before I get it but who knows for sure. Still, I am darn excited.

Okies will do. I don't think that my current computer could manage it... it takes about ten minutes when loading up Sims 2 at first. Eh... I'll have a look at system requirements but I expect I should just stick with Sims 2 nevertheless... rather than spending my money on a new game when the old one's good enough for the amount I play on it.

Yeah, if 2 is a lot on your computer I am sure 3 will be too much... Brian said a lot of people keep coming into work with their older computers and Sims 3 saying their computers technically meet the requirements and he keeps having to tell them it won't run well if at all... Huge part of why I am waiting for it... Sims 2 alone takes FOREVER to load then there is a delay in the game which drives me so crazy I play the whole game on the fastest mode all the time... but I still love it...

Oh my happy days, Sims 3 looks even more amazing than Sims 2 - which I never got but experienced the joy of through Izy. Sims 1 - I have all of them - just does not compare. I don't care, I'm getting Sims 3, if not just for this summer's gratification. I've been deprived for way too long.

(: Bought it for my sister, her birthday was yesterday - she's a closet Sims fan. x3 Will report back on how it looks. Honestly, I didn't look into it properly before I bought it, just gambled on a few positive reviews I had read. Of course if she doesn't like it I'm more than happy to take it off her hands... n.n

I actually got it as a gift on the first day it came out because I had an award thing. It's really cool because you can actually walk around the neighborhood and there's a lot more options for you when you're making your Sim and your house.
For the Sim: You can change the root, tip, highlight and actual hair color to a custom color, like purple and every other color and shade imaginable. The bad thing about the hair is that there are WAY less hairstyles available than on the Sims 2. For the clothing, there's a lot more styles to choose from and you can customize it really well. Like, you can change the collar color and/ or design, and if there's a vest, you can change the vest color and/or design. It's really awesome. For the personality, I think it's the best part about the Sims 3 because you can make hem to were they are brave, clumsy, insane, nice, mean and almost anything else possible, along with like five other traits.
For the house: It is SO much better. You can change the wall color to anything shade, color and design imaginable. And for the kitchen, you can actually put up counters and put multiple things like spoons and jars on the counter tops. And in the bathroom, you can actually put a mirror and walk lamp on the same wall! You can also place everything diagonally without using the cheats, and there's a lot more furniture options to choose from.
I hope this helps, Izy!
