Vanessa pushed open the door to the music room, she had stumbled upon it earlier that week, but really didn't have much time to play. The piano sat in the corner, in all it's splendor and Vanessa's fingers nearly ached from wanting to play so much. Vanessa had to restrain herself from nearly jumping onto the bench, it was pretty hard too. When she finally did reach the slick baby grand piano, she sat down slowly and fingered the white keys. Her fingertips nearly buzzing with delight. She shifed her legs to be under the keboard and started to tap her foot.
She started off quiet and then gradually got louder, her lyrics flowing out of her mouth. It started as a slow piece, and then ended up into something much more. Earlier when she had actually finished this song, Vanessa had started to choreograph a dance to the song, her Aunt had agreed to video tape and maybe have her perform it at the talent theatre if she could have it done by then. And Vanessa had it done, so she was going to sing it at the theatre...and show her music video behind her playing the piano on a white curtain.
"Crashed on the floor when I moved in
This little bungalow with some strange new friends
Stay up too late, and I'm too thin
We promise each other it's til the end
Now we're spinning empty bottles
It's the five of us
With pretty-eyed boys girls die to trust
I can't resist the day
No, I can't resist the day
Jenny screams out and it's no pose
'Cause when she dances she goes and goes
Beer through the nose on an inside joke
I'm so excited, I haven't spoken
And she's so pretty, and she's so sure
Maybe I'm more clever than a girl like her
The summer's all in bloom
The summer is ending soon
It's alright and it's nice not to be so alone
But I hold on to your secrets in white houses
Maybe I'm a little bit over my head
I come undone at the things he said
And he's so funny in his bright red shirt
We were all in love and we all got hurt
I sneak into his car's cracked leather seat
The smell of gasoline in the summer heat
Boy, we're going way too fast
It's all too sweet to last
It's alright
And I put myself in his hands
But I hold on to your secrets in white houses
Love, or something ignites in my veins
And I pray it never fades in white houses
My first time, hard to explain
Rush of blood, oh, and a little bit of pain
On a cloudy day, it's more common than you think
He's my first mistake
Maybe you were all faster than me
We gave each other up so easily
These silly little wounds will never mend
I feel so far from where I've been
So I go, and I will not be back here again
I'm gone as the day is fading on white houses
I lie, wrote my injuries all in the dust
In my heart is the five of us
In white houses
And you, maybe you'll remember me
What I gave is yours to keep
In white houses
In white houses
In white houses." She had written this in 12 hours and she had a very well good idea to what it was about. But, she wouldn't dare let anyone else know. As her words flew from her lips, Vanessa had a sincere smile on her face. Something she missed in the longest time, she then waved her wand, continuing to play and had it record her as she sang it over. When it was over, Vanessa stood up, waved her wand once more and listened as it came on once again. She cleared a space and started to do the dance. Vanessa had danced Jazz since she was 6, but had given it up when she had actually learned how to play the piano well.
As her feet matched the rhthym perfectly, Vanessa added the flips to it and the steps that were hard for her to do in most circumstances. She smiled as she completed a rather difficult move and continued to dance. Leaning back, so that her hair touched the floor, she raised her right leg and slowly came back up, her arms moving into a hug around herself. Her brown eyes watching herself in a mirror that she had conjured before beginning to dance. As the piano stopped she stood in her stance she had been in before it did stop. Then it began again and she did a plie. She was to do an aerial now, but she failed and fell...sliding across the floor. Vanessa's head hit the mirror and the mirror cracked, she put her hand to the back of her head and winced as she felt blood. She stood up, feeling a bit woosey and searched for her wand, which had flown out of her shoulderbag when she had thrown it against the wall.
Vanessa couldn't find it, and sighed with slight defeat realizing she would have to go to the nurse now. Vanessa hated the smell of the hospital wing and decided she would rather bleed to death then going up there, besides she would probably bleed to death before she got up there anyway, so what's the use? She sighed again, and took her hand away from the cut in her head, looked at her fingers and realized she was bleeding alot. She grabbed her shoulderbag, and saw that her wand was underneath it. Like that would do any good anyway, she didn't know any healing charms. So she swung her bag over her shoulder and was about to leave when someone else entered the music room and stared at her.
