Jersey lay exhausted on her bed, tossing a pillow high into the air every once and awhile, and then carefully catching it as it fell. She watched as she threw the pillow up for the last time and it fell directly onto her face. With a grumble she threw the pillow on the floor and sat up on her bed. She lifted her right hand in front of her face and examined her recently painted black finger nails. Her eyes slipped from her nails to her ring finger slightly as she stared at the diamond ring that had been her mother's. Placing her hand onto her lap now, she carefully got up from the bed and stood tall on the creaky floor boards.
Walking over to her mirror she felt as if someone had been scraping their nails against a chalkboard, as the floor boards made a horrible racket beanthe her. With a squeal of anger, she pulled her wand out of her cloak pocket and pointed it directly at the boards, placing a quieting charm on them to last until she left room. Feeling satisfactory, Jersey fluffed her hair, grabbed her shoulder bag, then walked proudly out of the room.
As Jersey walked the corridors of the castle she made sure to make everyone who walked passed her feel very uncomfortable, by giving them all evil glares that seemed to be very scary to a common kid. Approaching the lounge doors, Jersey swung her hair gracefully onto her back and walked with her chin high in the air into the crowded and noisy room. Looking for a place to sit Jersey noticed a 1st year conversing in Jersey's favorite chair. With a sigh of frusteration as she had figured everyone knew that it was in fact her favorite chair, she marched up to the boy, and in a voice full of hatred she uttered, "Scram little boy before I hurt you!"
Jersey laughed as the boy and his friends evacuated the area ASAP. Plunging hard into the chair, Jersey smiled and kicked her feet up onto the coffee table in front of her.

Dana groaned and stretched. She had felt the need to loose some extra-energy and had decided to work out a bit in the Room of Requirement. Martial Arts weren’t her favorite past-time, but it satisfied her at the moment. But after about an hour and half of practicing Dana had had enough. Leaving the room she made her way back to her common room to get a quick shower and then curled up on her bed to revise a little. O.W.L.s were already approaching at the end of this year and Dana wanted to have good grades on them. Like all Ravenclaws did actually.
Dana closed her charms book with a snap a couple of hours later and stretched lazily. Even she could take only so much studying at once, so Dana got up and walked out of the dormitory once again. Passing through the common room without any interruptions, Dana made her way to the student lounge, pulling her hair loose from the pony-tail it had been in.
Dana entered the room just in time to see a sixth year Slytherin bully some first years out of their seats. AS the girl sat down and kicked her feet up on the coffee-table, Dana recognized the girl. Jersey Scott – a sixth year SLytherin. Dana and Jersey didn’t really know each other much, but they had some mutual friends. Doing a quick-scan over the lounge, Dana didn’t see any of her friends, so she moved towards Jersey and sat down on an other arm-chair next to the table. “Hello, Jersey,” Dana greeted Jersey calmly, wondering if she remembered her or not, “I’m Dana. Coran. We have briefly met and we do have some mutual acquaintances – Kris and Mary – so I thought you wouldn’t mind me approaching.”
Dana glanced back at the boys who had evacuated from the area by now and shook her head: “Maybe it’s because most of my friends are Slytherins but people are starting to step out of my way as well. Or move away like those guys, although I don’t yell at them. It’s not nice, but I have to admit it’s actually rather useful and convenient from time to times.” The comment about it not being nice was made rather off-handedly. Dana firmly believed that the other people should just stand up to those trying to bully them. And not having to get squashed in the hallways was really useful. Besides Dana knew better not to try to moralize Slytherins.

Jersey watched carefully as she saw a girl walk her way. Jersey couldn't see who she was, despite how close she had been at that moment. Feeling reluctant Jersey pulled her black rimmed glasses out of her pocket to help her see if she should make stand and get ready for a fight, or let the girl join her. When the girl came into a clear view Jersey reconigized the girl as Dana Coran. She knew her because of the Slytherians Dana had hung around. Jersey contemplated on whether or not to get to know the girl and decided that she must be okay if she insists on having Slytherian friends.
"Yeah I know who you are." Jersey said Jersey with a bit of an attitude as the girl introduced herself. Nodding with approval and trying to not come off as a total jerk, Jersey directed the girl to sit down, raising her eyebrows as she swung her head to the seat on the left of her.
Jersey listened as Dana spoke, then inturn Jersey added her 2 cents in on the converstaion. "If you ask me, having people move out of your way shows class and rank. When people know to move away, I believe one should feel superior. As for being nice, I would presume that a girl as yourself would say that it's not "nice", not to start anything with you for I feel we could be good friends despite our house difference but it is mainly because of the way you were brought up. And as for me, I was brought up to always get what I want, so therefore, I inturn make sure I get what I want 24/7." Jersey looked towards the girl with a sly smile and a wink.
With a brush of her hand through her hair Jersey spoke again, "Yes, now that that's out of the way, please Dana, tell me about yourself. I'm dying to know more about you." Jersey said in a sarcastic joking way.

Dana tilted her head as Jersey answered. Listening to Jersey’s explanation about how she wanted things to go her way, Dana tugged on a strand of her hair, thoughtfully: “Naturally I also like to have things going my way. But I usually don’t bully people – in my opinion It’s much more satisfying if I can talk people into doing something my way. Verbal manipulation it could be called rather. "A diplomat is a person who can tell you to go to hell in such a way that you actually look forward to the trip."” Dana quoted Caskie Stinnett and grinned, “I think I’d like being a diplomat.”
Leaning back in her chair Dana crossed her legs calmly and looked at Jersey: “About me? Well, you already know my name and house and year. I’m hopelessly addicted to books and luckily out of bankruptcy thanks to the book-stores my grand-parents own. I’m Kris’s cousin as you probably know as well. I like nice clothes, dancing and jewelry. Which reminds me I’m in a shortage of a good tailor or a salon here in England as I need a new formal gown. Only child, meaning I’m rather spoiled. No parents either, so I live with my grand-parents.” Dana was glad, knowing she wouldn’t be receving any un-wanted or false sympathy from a Slytherin.
Dana tilted her head calmly and did a rather good imitation of a Slytherin-ish smirk towards Jersey: “On the whole – you have to ask, if you want to know something specific. But what about yourself?”
Jersey grumbled softly as Dana insisted the subject on bullying people. Jersey did what she did because she felt like it, and she honestly didn't want anyone's opinion on it. However, instead of furthering an agrument that could arouse, she simply crossed her arms and rolled her eyes childishly.
With a disgusted look on her face, Jersey listened as Dana told Jersey about herself. But, as she finished her digusted look went quickly away as she realized that her and the girl infact had quite a few things in common. Turning towards Dana, Jersey smiled, "Wow, seems like we have a lot more in common than I ever thought we would." Shaking her hair off of her neck Jersey smiled and continued talking, "Well, I have a an older sister who I live with, because my grandmother, who I did live with is a nasty old woman with no heart, and my parents well their dead. I have a great slew of money in my family and therefore I love to look my best. I love shopping, clothes, and jewelery just as any ordinary girl would. I like to read as you do, but I only find myself doing it when I'm in certain moods." Pausing a second to think of what else she could say, she brushed her hair with her hand before speaking again. "Oh, and I am really interested in antiques and I love to write. I basically write to release stress because I seem to be under it a lot but I hope to persue that in a career somehow someday." Jersey smiled at Dana.
Looking around the room Jersey noticed the room to be becoming quieter as kids were chased out by older kids, not necessarily Slytherians, telling them to be quiet, as most older ones were busy with something. As Jersey listened to the silence build up around them, an awkwardness fell between the two, and Jersey wasn't one for that, so out of nowhere Jersey let out an extremely loud scream. As she finished her scream, she laughed hysterically as all the older kids around her looked in her direction and gave her dirty looks, which Jersey didn't seemed to mind too much.

Dana smiled as Jersey said they had rather lot in common. Mary and Kris had both mentioned good sides of Jersey to Dana, so she was intrigued and in a positive way. Dana listened to Jersey’s words curiously smiling from time to time at Jersey’s comments, already liking the older girl’s sense of humor. Dana didn’t jump as Jersey suddenly let out a loud scream, just raised an eye-brow and chuckled slightly as Jersey laughed hysterically. “Nice voice-range. Certainly never lets you stay In the back-ground. Even though that part isn’t really even a possibility,” Dana commented with surprising calmness, not reacting strangely at Jersey’s scream. Dana herself had some rather awkward moods from time to time and she didn’t hesitate to act by them either.
“However, let’s return to the writing part once again. You want to persue a career some time? Sounds fantastic, but do you have any better stories already? My grand-parents publish short stories of 4 young and unknown authors in year, and the author is chosen by according a sample of their writing. Ma grand-mere selects the winner, but it might be interesting to participate. I’d do it myself, if I wasn’t related,” Dana stopped for a moment and crossed her ankles far in front of her, absent-mindedly playing at the little snitch, she wore as a belly-button ring, “I write to relax and calm myself from time to time, but I doubt I’ll get into writing professional myself. I’ll inherit the my grand-parents book-stores and I think that will be enough for me to be a busy lady for good. Maybe go into politics in the Ministry as well as a second job.” The last sentence was added as an after-thought. Dana’s father was probably going to be the next Minister of Magic for France, so Dana knew first hand that it was exhausting to have two jobs like that at ones, but it was possible. And diplomacy fitted Dana’s personality.

Jersey knew she was with a person of her kind when Dana seemed to react with a calmness when Jersey screamed. With the giggles still surrounding her, she tried to calm herself as Dana told her about a contest where her grandparents publish 4 short stories from young authors. Jersey felt a sudden urge to scream again, as she was told this. However, this time she wanted to scream in excitement. A brilliant smile spread earnestly across her face as she finished. "How exciting!" Jersey wailed with her girly side breaking through her cold hearted ways. Jersey was always overexaggerating her excitement when it came to little things.
Jersey's mind went on a search for a brief moment, as she began wondering if she should send in a story she had already written or another that she should soon write. Her mind went straight towards a story written about her own life, however, it was basically a comedic story where she turned her terrible life into a funny and intersting story. Smiling Jersey snapped her fingers to get out her excitement. "I have to enter!" Jersey wailed, "It would be a dream to be published!"
Grabbing Dana's hand in excitement she wailed "Count me in! How do I enter?" Jersey felt her heart racing, the subject of writing and the possibility of her being published thrilled her beyond belief.

Dana laughed at Jersey’s enthusiasm: “Well, mainly you just sign up at one of the stores for it and send your story you want to compete with there. However as I know you, I’ll notify Meredith about it and you can just send your story to her with an owl. She won’t judge you any easier still, even though I’ll help you get passed the registration the long and hard way.”
Dana groaned, suddenly remembering that she would have to contact Meredith about whether a three-story store-house at the end of Diagon Alley would fit their desires. Meredith and Julien had decided to broaden their business once more, and since Diagon Alley didn’t have any books for really specialized professionals, they would start a store like that. “I have to write them, whether the empty store-room I found for them to broaden the family business is suitable or not. And the same question the price of it. Event though it means I have to start hunting for some extra stuff that will be sold in the store besides the books.”
Dana shrugged raised her legs on the coffee-table as well, tugging thoughtfully at her belly-button ring in the shape of a snitch – even the wings were nicely prepared: ”I’ll add that you want to join the competition soon as well then.”
