Kiyla walked into the Student Lounge feeling rather hyper. Maybe it was because she had just eaten a whole bag of jelly beans a few minutes ago, maybe not. She smiled as she hurried to get a seat by the fire. She couldn’t stand the cold.
Kiyla sat back with a sigh and her thoughts went to the first time she had come in there. She bit her lip fighting back the memory. She didn’t want to think about it, not now when her mood was so good. Kiyla closed her eyes and smiled to herself.
Kiyla let the images flow into her head. She thought about how over the years she had changed, yet at the same time she didn’t change at all. When she had first arrived she hadn’t many friends… she had no friends at all really. Now Kiyla had a handful of friends and wasn’t as shy as she used to be.

D.J. jogged into the student lounge, her mind still a jumble of thoughts about muggle school and college. She wasn't going to college anytime soon, that was for sure, but one could never be prepared. The early bird gets the worm. That's what her mother says anyway. D.J. didn't know how much she believed that. As she entered the warm room her senses tingled from the sudden warmth and chage of temperature. Pulling out her pony tail, D.J. made her way to the fireplace where she normally sat when she was about to do her yoga.
D.J. sat down, crossed her legs criss-cross applesauce and put her head into a backwards position. Moving her right leg up into an arch, she held it in the air and then moved her left leg directly under that, so she seemed to be in a weird sort of shape. With a sigh, D.J. came back into start position, closed her eyes and thought of her next move. It was only when she opened them did she realize that there was a girl in the lounge with her. Sitting by the fire. D.J. smiled and sat up. She looked up at the girl and held out her hand.
"I'm Donna Jo Michaels. My friends call me D.J. or Deej. What's your name? Isn't the fire lovely? It's so brilliant and it jus tlike dances off the walls in a sort of luxiours pattern. It soothes me at times. Doesn't it sooth you? Ooo, sorry. I talk alot. My mom always said that would get me in trouble, and hey it did!" She greeted with a smile.

Kiyla opened her eyes to see a girl sitting on the floor doing something that looked sort of gymnastic thing to Kiyla. The girl then said her name was D.J. and a whole lot of other things. Kiyla smiled at the girl and sat up straight.
"I'm Kiyla Johnson. You can call me Kiy, if you like," Kiyla said with a shy sort of smile, "What are you doing there on the floor? Is it gymnastics? Oh and I love the fire. It reminds me of home and how I used to dance all the time when i was younger."

D.J. smiled at Kiyla and stood up. She bent backwards and touched the ground before pulling back up and stretching her legs. D.J. tilted her head as she switched legs and then smiled again. When she was done with her legs, she circled her arms, first in small circles then gradually they got larger. When Kiyla asked what she was doing and suggested Gymnastics, D.J. shook her head.
"No, not gymnastics, though those would be super! I'm just, stretching. What I was doing before was a bit of yoga, my style. I just came back from jogging. I always jog.I think it's important to stay in shape, especially if you want to live a properous life, right? Oh! I love your name, it's so pretty and exotic. My name is so dull. Donna Jo. Who would name their child Donna Jo? Oh, yeah, my parents. At times I don't think they use their heads. That would explain a lot. Anyway, you used to dance? Really? Wow, dancing takes a lot of talent. It was always something I could never do, but it's cool you can do it. Not many people can dance with great talent." She answered and stopped the arm circles. Sitting down once more, she looked up at Kiyla and smiled again.

Kiyla laughed lightly at D.J.'s comment about Kiyla dancing. Kiyla used to go to a hip hop dance class because her mum still wanted her to be in touch with her muggle side but Kiyla never told anyone that because.. well no one asked.
"Well it wasn't like ballet or anything. It was just a dance class. I'm not taht great at it. I guess dancing is just in my nature or something. My mum always said I was a dancer but I only dance when I'm alone. My mother named me Kiyla, I suppose... I never actually got the chance to ask...." Kiyla said thoughtfully.
She paused and looked at the fire thinking about what she just said. When she danced she thought of it as keeping a piece of me mother with every move. Kiyla's mum told her that her mother used to dance.
"Hey, can I do that with you. Is it relaxing? I'm pretty hyper right now..." Kiyla said with a smile.

D.J. smiled up at Kiyla, her hands in her lap and her head tilted slightly to the left. She opened her mouth and then closed it again. She took a breath and nodded.
"It's still dancing. And dancing keeps you good shape. So, either way you're okay on my list. Sure you can join! It's really quite simple. Have you ever done yoga before? We can start with easy positions if you haven't. I had to start with easy positions when I first started, I started when I was around 9. It took a lot of the tension and hyperness away. Except, I am always hyper and I can't get rid of it all. Sometimes I wish I could though, because when I talk a lot of things spill out and I tell total strangers my past. Not that you're a stranger but, I mean people on the streets. And I tell them what happened and they look at me weirdly like, 'why are you telling me this?' and I just shrug and continue talking. I say its a curse and my parents agree with me. They really do. It's really weird too, because I am the loudest person in my family and everyone else is so...quiet. Like mice. I hate the quiet. And I'm afraid of mice so, I don't like it either way. Do you like mice? I am deathly afraid of them, I'm like an elephant. Unless that's a myth, then I'm not like an elephant. Because, that would be just weird. Really really weird. Could you imagine me with a trunk? I couldn't. That would be super weird. Yoga is pretty relaxing, but as you can see it doesn't calm me down much. But, when you're upset or something like that if you do yoga then you sometimes feel better and can go on with the world as if it was good. Some of the meany Slytherins need to do yoga, maybe then they wouldn't want world domination. I don't think that would be right though. I suppose it could be, but not really. Okay, first position, you stand like this," D.J. stood up with her right leg in front of her left and bent like a 90 degree angle, she then slanted her left leg like a hill,"your arms go up like this," she raised her left arm above her head and her right arm in front of her, her palm pushing what seemed to be an imaginary wall, "and you push with your right hand. Then after ten seconds you switch. Is that pretty easy? I thought it was when I tried it at first."

Kiyla stared at D.J. as she started talking. She barely stayed with her but smiled just the same. She did hear what she said about Slytherin's and Kiyla's thoughts shifted to the Slytherin girl, Phoebe, who she had only met breifly before.
"Well, I guess not ALL Slytherin's are that bad. I guess we just have to give them a chance. Who knows? I don't. Just like I don't know how to do yoga. I've never tried it before but I guess now is as good of a time as any. I don't like mice. I have any rodent and insect." Kiyla stated with a smile and stood up.
She watched D.J. show her the postions. Kiyla looked at D.J. blankly wondering if she could do that without falling over. Kiyla was no ballerina but maybe it wouldn't be that hard.
Kiyla lifted her leg up as instructed and hesitantly put her hand out, wondering if she looked as stupid as she felt. All the same it would be fun.

"Oh yes, I totally agree. We should give them a chance, but I don't think I should be the one to do so. I don't have anything against them, because I don't really judge unless I know them, most the time but, sometimes there is just a person you see being mean to someone else and you think, 'how can that person possibly be nice?' Like Pansy Parkinson, how could she be nice? I admit, there are some Slythey heads out there that are nice, Mary Evans is one of them. But, most of them are very mean and cruel to people. Anyway, mice. They squeak! Who squeaks?! Besides mice? Do you squeak? I won't hold it against you if you squeak, because squeaking isn't what scares me. But, squeaking and squealling can get very annoying. Very very annoying. Ooh, insects! Butterflies are pretty, but everything else no. I can't stand insects! Bees, flys, ewwy yucky and noey. Okay, time to change position. This position, your feet are the same. But both your arms are up in the air. Like this" D.J. lifted both her arms straight up in the air but her palms were cupped and her head straight ahead,"see?"

Kiyla followed D.J.'s lead and did the position. She took a deep breathe and let it out then bit her lip sofly.
"I don't know Mary Evans, but I know this girl named Phoebe Xiong. She's pretty cool, too. I think I'd give them a chance... if i got the chance you know? Everyone deserves a chance," Kiyla said softly and thoughtfully.
Kiyla laughed at D.J.'s comment about Kiyla squeaking.
"I don't squeak, but because I'm quiet people compare me to a door mouse. I don't usually talk to people... I'm surprised you even noticed me sitting there..."

"I must meet her! Everyone does deserve a chance, but those who don't take the chance when it's offered don't deserve it. I don't know who said that saying to me, but I vaguely remember it. Not notice you? Like that could happen! You were right there! And you looked hyper and that's always in the good with me! I'm glad I met you too! I'm always on the look out for new friends, except for those who don't want to be my friend. Then, I exclude them but, I am still really nice to them. Just because someone doesn't like you doens't mean you have to stop being nice to them. It's just like me and my friend Derrek. He hates me, but I still consider him a friend. I still talk to him, and stuff like that. I mean, if everyone stopped talking to each other over something stupid wouldn't that be sad? THe world would fall apart. Not many people would be happy. But, I want to be your friend, so I will always notice you. And it's a plus that you don't squeak." D.J. told her with a smile as she thought of the next postion. She bit her lip and thought about this for moment before laying down on her back.
"Okay, you might recognize this one. This one you lay flat on your back, and then slowly raise your legs together up into the air until they are parallel from your hips. See? It's rather very simple. And these are just breathing yogas. Stress reliefe ones are fun also. I usually do Yoga after my morning jog but for some reaosn I am running a bit late today."

Kiyla laughed lightly at D.J.'s comment. She laid down on her back and slowly put her legs in the air, thinking about what D.J. just said.
"I suppose so, I mean you are right," Kiyla said softly. "Truthfully, I am not noticed in the hallways and when I was a first year I used to be deathly afraid of Slytherin's. I remember, people talking about them as if they could eat us or kill us or something. Phoebe is the first Slytherin I've met who is nice. Well, I suppose she is. I have never really had a nice, long conversation with her."

D.J. nodded in deep thought. Her mind working like gears on a machine, winding one way, then winding the other. Switching places switching ways. Her mind always worked like this, and she normally never payed much attention to it...though today, she did.
"Well, maybe she's just hiding her meanness inside of her. You know, biting back her tongue to keep the snide remarks to herself. You know? I've done that before, so my mouth wouldn't get me into too much trouble. Load of good that did, I still got in trouble. Maybe she's doing that, you never know somebody until you have seen all sides of their face. Or so somebody told me. I'm a rather easy person to get to know, I talk a lot so I'm very chipper. And I don't get mad easily, or offended. I dont' get frustrated, I am just eternally happy. It's a gift and a curse. Yes, when you have a full on conversation with her, then tell me if she is nice. Because, then I will want to meet her. Any other Slytherin is mean to me. Very mean. Because, I am a Gryffindor doesn't mean I have to take things from them. And I don't want to. So I stay clear of them, I do. When I was a firstie, I was afraid they would steal something from me. Like I don;t know, my dignity I suppose. They were just evil things and I didn't like them at all. And I still don't. I mean, I believe in chances...but, sometimes they push to hard." She said as she breathed in and out, controlling the flow of her oxygen to her brain so the gears slowed down a little bit.
