To Drake's relief, India didn't bother trying to escape when he left the door unattended. Still, she looked utterly terrified and Drake couldn't help but feel that she would have preferred bing anywhere else but in his bedroom. He was surprised to see though that she slowly moved over to the bed and took a seat. She had obviously mistaken his sadistic sense of humor to be directed at her. He didn't quite mean it like that, but he could see where she would interpret it as him claiming she had been just another 'one of his girls'. In all actuality, India had been the most unique instance in which Drake brought a girl home. She went on to apologize, much to Drake's dislike.
"Look, I don't need your apology..." he began, walking over and standing in front of India who almost seemed to cower below him on the bed. "Contrary to popular belief, I do have a conscious... a rather small one, might I add... but I do have a conscious. Just forget that it all happened, and we can go on living our own dreadfully terrible and pointless lives." Drake's inner sense of nihilism began to work its way out, and he looked back down at India was a sobering glance. "Can we just forget about it, and move on?"
His question was short lived though, as India offered him more apologies and thank yous. Drake didn't want to hear it. Even more, to make matters worse, India began sobbing. Then, she told Drake that he had scared her. He took a deep breath, and quickly tried to figure out what he could do. Drake hated when girls cried, and there he was with an emotional India, pouring out her emotions right on his bed. "Stop crying," he ordered, his voice somewhat tense and frustrated. "Please..." he managed in a more calm tone. "Look, if you're afraid of me, don't be. I may be a player, but I'm not a rapist or a murderer or anything terrible like that. So I've broken and few hearts and bruised a few egos. People live and people learn. Just... can we just put this behind us? Tomorrow, we can just pretend that none of this happened. We can go on living our lives and never speak again." It sounded reasonable to Drake, but somehow he figured it wasn't that logical from India's perspective. In the end, he just didn't want to have to deal with attachment that he always feared when it came to girls. They were fine from a distance, and for when he needed them in his weak moments, but apart from that, Drake did his best to sever any ties that he bothered to make.
"How about I apparate you somewhere that you can get home? It will be quick, and easy, and it will save us the trouble of having to try to sneak out without my parents seeing you." Drake looked at India, and waited to see if she could stop crying, if only for enough time to see that he was offering her a way to get out of his room and forget anything had ever happened.
