"My taste buds prevail again!" he declared, laughing as he shoved his own spoon, covered with ice cream and popcorn into his mouth, stretching his arms back behind him, leaving the spoon in his mouth for a long moment before he removed it so he could respond to an earlier question she had mention. "Never wanted to hired anyone to date me...I tend to get into enough trouble with girls before adding money to the mix. If you remember I have a bit of a reputation." He looked back over her, his eyebrows raised a bit as he grinned. He had warned her that he had a bit of a history, and while he never really meant for it to happen, somehow it seemed to be true. He was suppose to be charming and a heart breaker if the rumors spread around Hogwarts were true.
Payton stuck his spoon back into the ice cream tub, looking back over at the telly to watch a scene between Dempsey and his friends that was always one of his favorites. After the first few moments past he glanced over at Jill to see if she was watching it, and before he could help himself he let his arm closest to her slip around behind her, pulling her closer to him just as one of the last lines in the scene played out, one of the friends saying "We became us. I like us." As the last sentence was spoken he turned towards Jill, repeating "I like us" alone with the character before he place a quick kiss on Jill's fore head. It had been a long time since anything had felt so easy or natural to him, and somehow moving in with Jill was both.

Jill laughed at his declaration and then thought about his answer to her question. She had heard a bit about him, though she wasn’t too tapped into the gossip network at school so she didn’t know much. But she knew many girls would fall over themselves for him and when he started his relationship with Sethia, Jill heard and saw many unbelievable things. She never could quite understand what they all saw in a boy, and now that she was close friends with said boy – she saw it more than any girl who had talked about him. It was Payton though, he wasn’t charming to make everyone get hurt – he was just charming. He was Payton. She watched him a moment longer and then turned to the television as a scene came on. Jill had been paying attention to the movie as much as she could, but with the game and the weird food mixture and the conversation – her attention had been going everywhere at different times.
When Payton pulled her closer to him, she didn’t complain or shove away. Her eyes remained glued to the television until she felt him look at her. Her smile brightened on her face as he parroted the last sentence and then kissed her fore head. “That’s a good line…” she replied. Everything with Payton was so easy, so simple, so…. Perfect. Jill’s life had never been perfect, not ever. And so why was it that now it chose to be perfect? Now that she had found someone besides Joann that she trusted completely. It was confusing, but Jill wasn’t jumping to solve it. After all, why would someone try to analyze something that was absolutely wonderful?

He smiled when Jill said that it was a good line, he had always thought so too. It seemed to sum up something that everyone faced at one time or another during their life. People were put into categories, it was natural--at Hogwarts they were separated into years, blood, and quidditch ability besides simple personality traits and interests. Then there were the people drawn together by something other than a category, and there was no other way to define the relationship other than 'we became us' and somehow, he liked that. "Its one of my favorites."
He let his arm stay draped around Jill as he reached for more ice cream with his other, watching as the movie continued on and the progression of geek to popular status for the main character. The movie was entertaining, but it was really the end that made it for him. It hit him though, now that he was lying there, that he was tired. It had been a long day between the club with Jill the night before, and the early morning only to spend the entire day unpacking. Before as they played and ate and complained about bad movies he still felt awake and alert, but somehow the floor was more comfortable than it had been earlier, and the ice cream hit a lovely bedtime snack spot for him. Glancing over at Jill he wondered if she as having the same feelings. "You know, you better not fall asleep on me...you need to last to the end of the movie."

Her eyes had started to droop closed, and she was almost completely asleep when he said something. Jill stuck out her bottom lip in a pout and groaned, opening her left eye and shaking her head; “I’ve seen this before, you know, Payton. It ends like all corny romance movies end. Why can’t I fall asleep, mmm?” She grinned sleepily and closed her eye again, leaning her head on his shoulder. It was natural and easy for her to do, and the fact that she was rather tired helped boost her confidence a bit. Though, whenever she was with Payton her confidence was at its highest, unless she was trying something new – like formal dancing. Jill smiled at the memory of Beltane, and the stupid fortune teller.
Maybe it was a mistake to close her eyes and to keep them closed, but she didn’t think of that then. Within moments that light feeling of drifting into a sleep. And soon she was in a deep slumber, but with a good shake she would be awake. Lucky she didn’t snore.

Jill put up a slight protest to his instructions for her to stay up before falling rather silent. Not long after that Jill leaned against his shoulder and he used the arm he had wrapped around her to gently rub her arm. He let his attention stay on the telly for a bit longer, watching the scenes pass by before he looked over at her, noticing that her eyes were closed and that her breath had become soft and steady. He couldn't help but smile, even if she had ignored him when he said he wanted her to stay up for the ending. She was rather cute when she slept. After a moment he reached out his free hand to try and get the remote with out disturbing her. It took a rather awkward moment of stretching, thanks to twister something he was prepared for, but he finally wrapped his finger around the remote and clicked the telly off. There wasn't exactly much point in him staying up now that Jill had drifted off to dreamland, and for a moment he found himself watching her again, trying to decide what to do. He couldn't exactly move her, she wasn't deep enough into her sleep for him to do so with out waking her, and the same went for him trying to leave, not that he would have left her on the floor alone anyway. Finally giving into the situation he stretched his free arm out behind him, searching for the throw which was spread out across the couch. Once his finger tips found it he pulled it down, spreading it out across both he and Jill before settling in for the night, which he knew would be far too short.
Just as he had expected, five came far to early the next morning and carefully he slipped out from the throw and away from Jill, who had been using him as a pillow, and quietly made his way to his bedroom, which he had yet to actually spend a night in. After a quick shower and a change into his work clothes, he spent a bit of time mixing up a few things in the kitchen before he wrote out a note to Jill, managing to get out the door a bit before half past five, meaning he shouldn't be too late for work.
The note reads: Morning Love, coffee's all ready in the maker just to it on, and put the oven on bake and check it about 12 minutes later if you want cookies fro breakfast. I'll be home at 6 and have dinner ready for half past 7, so don't sneak out to a club with out me.

She hadn't meant to fall asleep on him, she had only been teasing him when she asked why she couldn't. But she had, and there wasn't anything she could do about it now. When Jill awoke the next morning, she rolled over on her stomach and whacked her hand against the table. With a groan she sat up and looked around, realizing Payton hadn't taken her to her room and it looked like he had stayed down there as well. Jill grinned sleepily and shoved the blanket off her, and made her way into her room - grabbing the things she needed. She jumped into the shower and then got dressed before wiping cleaning the bathroom. When she was finished she magic dryed her hair and then pulled it up into a pony tail. It was going to be hard to get into the flow of things by doing almost everything with magic and she figured today was going to be a testing day. Jill grinned at that thought, a legal aged witch needing to test her magic out at home. Kind of amusing.
The living room was a disaster area. But with one flick of her wand, the throw was back on the couch where it was before Payton pulled it down, as was the pillow. The mat of the twister game folded itself up and inserted itself into the box and the spinner glided over to set on top of it, and the lid then closed and the whole box made it's way over to the closet it had come from. The now melted ice cream threw itself away and the popcorn was dumped out and the bowl put into the sink. Now the only thing left was the table and the sodas. Jill flicked her wand again and the sodas floated into the kitchen and the table moved center where it was before. She smiled at her handy work as she picked up the movies, and took out the movie that was still in the VCR. Jill put those away and then made her way back into the kitchen. She didn't even look at the mess, she flicked her wand and it disappeared - save for a note that fluttered when something floated past. Curious, Jill picked it up and read Payton's handwriting.
Morning Love, coffee's all ready in the maker just to it on, and put the oven on bake and check it about 12 minutes later if you want cookies fro breakfast. I'll be home at 6 and have dinner ready for half past 7, so don't sneak out to a club with out me.
Cookies for breakfast? Coffee ready to go? She was going to have to get used to this. Jill placed the note back down and pushed the on button for the coffee and sure enough it started to brew. She looked into the oven and there were cookies. A smile spread across her face as she put the oven on bake and then headed into her room, grabbed her journal and came back out to the living room. She clicked the telly on and opened the journal that was still blank and began writing. When the coffee was done she flicked her wand and moments later a cup of hot coffee with cream came toward her. There were definitely advantages in living with a wizard, but she knew there were going to be disadvantages of living with Payton too... one coming in a few weeks.
