Katy stared up at the ceiling, her hands moving up and down as she took a deep breath. Everything smelled so fresh and clean. Maybe that’s why she always loved going into hotel rooms. The excitement about how the room was going to look and the cleanliness of everything made Katy feel light hearted. Feeling the bed shake yet again, Katy played with the strings of the sweatshirt, still staring up at the ceiling. She gave some options on what they could for the remainder of the night. Swimming sounded the best but it was far too late and Katy was feeling a little too lazy at the moment to change into a bathing suit. Did Myka even pack bathing suits? When Myka began to talk about food, Katy turned her head to the side, grinning at her friends. Her stomach rumbled silently at the suggestion. All Katy had that day was a cup of hot chocolate and she hadn’t eaten properly in days. Nodding her head at the idea of looking through the movies on the hotel guide she was about to get up from the bed when Myka reached over her to get the phone. Sticking her tongue out at her friend, Katy slowly slid down the bed and under the cord safely. Landing on the floor she stood up grabbing for the controller to the TV. Flipping the on button she clicked MENU button and began to search through the movies.
Feeling hands wrap about her waist and a chin rest on her shoulder, Katy smiled as she stopped scrolling down the page to the movie Lost and Delirious. She kept it there for a moment, reading it to herself as Myka did the same. When Myka gave Katy the heads up to purchase it, she clicked the ok button and all the other stuff that went along to purchasing a movie. Setting the controller down on the table beside the bed, Katy laid down on the best besides Myka. Reaching her hand to the side and pressing the arrow that guided left the volume of the TV turned up. The first thing that appeared was a large car and a blond girl looking out the window and in no time Myka was beginning to play with her hair again. Katy didn’t Myka touching her hair at all, but in fact was quite used to it. Smiling as her friends compliment to how her hair and ears looked she sighed as Myka went into the bathroom to go change. Pressing the pause square on the controller, Katy then heard a knock. Jumping up from the bed she made her way toward the door, unlocking everything and opening it up to a man carrying a large tray. “Wow this is a lot of food,” Katy mumbled to herself before smiling at the man. “Thank you!”
Closing the door and locking it back up, Katy walked to the bed setting the tray down on the table. Myka than came out of the bathroom and sat back down on the bed pulling at a fuzz ball on her pants. “You ordered enough food for at least six people….I’m going to get even fatter on my stay here.” Grinning at her friend she took the flower out of the vase and put it behind her friend’s ear. “It really brings the blue out of your eyes,” she said before noticing a plate of macaroni and cheese. Reaching out for the plate, she snatched it up before side glancing at Myka. “You touch this Mac N Cheese while I’m in the bathroom then be prepared to see my kitty cat claws.” Standing up from the bed, Katy opened up the duffel she took out a long sleeve shirt and a pair of shorts before heading to the bathroom. Slipping into the change of clothes fast, she stared at her reflection in the mirror. Katy’s red hair was a slightly matted mess, but still looked somewhat curly. She didn’t have to take any makeup off or anything. Walking back into the room she sat back down on the bed Indian style before turning the movie back on.

Myka grinned, “Food’s good, can never get too much. Besides, what we don’t eat, we can save for lunch or a snack tomorrow. If we order room service for breakfast or lunch tomorrow I’ll be out of money before six tomorrow evening.” She gave Katy a sharp but joking look before lying back on the bed. She put her hands behind her head and turned her head to the left to watch the movie. Katy had paused it, which meant she hadn’t missed much. She had to sit back up though, because Katy approached her with a flower. The flower was tucked behind her ear and Katy complimented her about her eyes. Myka smiled and touched the flower. Katy then threatened Myka with her claws if Myka took her macaroni and cheese. “OK.” She said. The moment the door to the bathroom closed, Myka pulled the lid off the mac n cheese and took a bite. It was good. She placed the lid back and then took her position on the bed again.
While Katy was in the bathroom, Myka thought about what her parents would do once they realized the car was missing. Would they call the police? She sighed in frustration and slight fright, but she didn’t let the emotions stay long. All she had to do was think about Katy and all those scary feelings would go away and be replaced by warm and fuzzy ones. They were feelings Myka hadn’t felt since Crystal. When Crystal had left she thought everything good inside her had broken and disappeared. Now that Katy was in her life, those feelings were suddenly so bright that they drowned out anything bad. Was it a good thing? Or was it bad to feel she had become so attached to someone? The door to the bathroom opened and Myka’s gaze fell on Katy as she came out.
Katy sat on the bed and started the movie again, so Myka stood and took the mac n cheese, handed it to her with a fork and then grabbed a turkey club. She also took out two sodas and handed one to Katy before taking a seat on the floor beside the bed. She couldn’t eat on the bed, it would be too messy. She bit into her sandwich as the movie continued to roll on. So far it seemed like an okay movie. Myka looked up at Katy, her mind wandering away from the movie. What was it about this girl that had Mykaela Young so entranced? So utterly full of joy?

Katy flipped her red curly hair from her shoulder before opening the lid of the macaroni and cheese. Myka had moved from the bed to the ground eating the club sandwich. Smiling at the older for a couple of seconds, she returned her attention back onto the food in front of her. It looked like nothing had happened to it. Shrugging slightly, Katy took a mouthful while still staring at the TV. She had to be very careful when eating on this bed, since it was where Myka was sleeping. Though, it would be funny seeing Myka wake in the morning with a dried macaroni noodle stuck on her clothes. Smiling at the thought, Katy put another forkful into her mouth savoring the sweet cheesy taste. Katy kept the fork in her mouth her blue eyes glued to the TV. Tori’s sister had caught the two lovers in bed and looked almost horrified. It reminded Katy of what happened with Myka’s parents earlier on in the day. Luckily, they were only caught making out and nothing this extreme. The worst part was Tori told her sister that it was nothing and the whole flipping school thought Paulie rapped her. This was just reminding Katy too much of what had happened over the past few months.
Looking down at Myka who was staring at her, Katy took the fork out of her mouth. “What are you staring at?” she asked while pilling the fork back up with some noodles. Pulling back on the front she laughed as it landed on the older girl, but laughed even harder as one noodle in particular landed on her nose. Picking the noodle off from Myka’s nose she ate it smiling. Rubbing the cheese off with the tip of her sleeve, Katy leaned down to the girls face kissing her nose lightly. Putting the lid back on the container she also closed the second box which had the other half of the club sandwich in it. Standing up from the bed, Katy put the two boxes on top of each other in the small little fridge by the television. Closing it with her foot she looked back as it shook slightly. “I wish I could have a little mini fridge in my bedroom. It would save the trip having to go all the way downstairs for a can of soda.”
Grinning at Myka she sat back down on the bed but this time differently. Since Myka was still sitting on the ground she laid sideways on the bed her arms folded over the girl’s chest. Turning her head to the side, Katy’s eyes began to feel dry, making it hard for her to keep them open. Katy closed her eyes shut hard than reopened them hoping that she could stay up longer. That didn’t work too well. Sighing she took a deep breath of Myka’s hair and kissed her friend’s head before slowly falling asleep.

Myka shook her head as Katy asked what she was staring at. She then turned to look at the television again when a noodle landed on her nose. She stared at it and then cast a look at Katy who picked it off and then ate the noodle. The cheese was then wiped off and Katy kissed the tip of Myka’s nose. Myka grinned as Katy put the macaroni and cheese away while talking about mini refrigerators. It was silent again and then a few moments later, Myka felt a soft kiss on her head and then nothing. They watched the movie in silence and when it was finished, Myka turned off the television. The movie was a good one and it made her think. Slowly, Myka lowered the remote to the floor. Her stomach was in knots now and she knew why. She had to tell Katy how she felt.
Without looking at her, Myka sighed and began, “Katy…A long time ago.. I fell in love, or at least I thought it was love, with Crystal. When she left… I thought I would never love again. And then… then there was you. Katy… I think… I think I love you. I love everything about you. The way you wear your hair, the way your eyes sparkle when you laugh. But most of all, I love how you can see right to the core of me… right to the very being of who I am. I love you… and even if you don’t think you are ready to be loved or to love, I am always going to love you until you come to me.” She wasn’t done, but at least she got the hard part over with. “Katy, I won’t go anywhere without knowing how you truly feel about me. I won’t move on to someone different, I understand you need time to get comfortable with who you are. I am willing to wait.”
When there was no response, Myka slowly turned around and had mixed emotions when she realized Katy had fallen asleep. Was she happy and relieved or upset? Sighing, Myka got into the bed beside her and curled up next to her. In moments she was asleep as well.

Katy yawned softly, tilting her head to the side to look at the clock. The red light had just flashed six and her eyes glided over to the large AM sign. It was that early? It was winter break. There was still no need to wake up before eight, but her body still wasn’t used to the new routine. Groaning Katy turned over on her other side to see Myka’s face sound asleep. Smiling softly at the sleeping figure next to her, she reached out for a strand of the girl’s hair, moving it out of her face. Just seeing Myka’s face made Katy want to stay awake and it also made her believe that everything since the past day happened. They had run away to a hotel for Christmas and were going to spend it together. The best part was that their relationship had gone stronger. Katy could have sworn she heard someone talking to her last night while she was asleep, thought she didn’t know what they were saying. Sighing she leaned her forehead gently against Myka’s trying to get back to sleep. Katy’s eyes closed and stayed closed for at least a couple of minutes before opening once again. It was useless. She might as well get an early start. So, Katy kissed the top of Myka’s forehead gently before slowly getting out of bed. Tucking the covers back over her friend, Katy looked through the duffle bags for some clothes to change into. Grabbing a red turtle neck and a pair of jeans she headed into the bathroom for a quick shower.
Running her fingers through her wet hair, Katy glanced back over toward the clock. This time it read seven, but what also struck her was that it was Christmas. This was the very first Christmas without being with her father and brother. Biting her bottom lip at the thought of her father she then sighed. Katy hadn’t even thought about him since that box with the words Crystal on it she found in Myka’s room. That could either be a good or a bad thing. Shaking her head clear of the thoughts, Katy knelled down on the ground digging through the bag for the wet jeans she wore yesterday. Finding them, she dug into the pockets pulling out a cell phone and her wallet. Katy never left the house with out either of them. Standing up straight with a loud crack of her knees, Katy than pulled out the hotel notepad and wrote a note for Myka explaining she would be back and not to worry. Setting it beside the clock Katy watched her friend sleep while pulling her arms through the ends of the jacket. Myka was so adorable asleep. Tearing her eyes away from the girl, she took out her cell phone, checking the missed calls which were all from her brother. Sighing, she took the card key and than pressed the call button while heading out of the room. Katy made it down the elevator with her brother still not answering the phone so she left him a message and headed out into the busy streets of London.
There weren’t many places open on Christmas. It was a shock that Katy could find even find a gas station that sold coffee and donuts. So she bought them four different kinds of donuts and two coffees. The next place she stopped off at was a store right next to the hotel that sold some rather cute clothing. In there she got Myka a plaid skirt, black sweater, boots, and even fuzzy slippers that made knows when you pressed the right button. Katy also got the packaged wrapped in a little gift store in the lobby. Just as she was about to go up the elevator a familiar voice called out to her. Turning around on her hells she almost nearly dropped everything seeing her older brother. “Kyle! What are you doing here?” she asked when he made his way into the elevator, breathing hard. “The main question is what are you doing here?” Katy bit her lip as the elevator began to move up. “I’m here with a friend from school. We just needed to get away from everything back at home…” she began as the door opened to the fifth floor. Walking out with he brother following right behind her she walked to room 515 her brother lecturing her about running off like she did.
Entering the hotel room Katy stopped in the little hallway facing Kyle. “Look I’m sorry. We weren’t even going to have a happy Christmas anyway. Dad’s still in the hospital and not to mention moms trying but back into our lives.” Kyle raised his eyebrows at his sister before sighing. “She still loves him Katy, why won’t you give her a chance?” “Give her a chance? If she loved us enough, she would have never left in the first place!” Stopping to take her breath she jumped hearing the bathroom door open. Out came Myka who walked toward Katy dropping a kiss on her check. Looking back toward Kyle as he stared dumbfounded at the two Katy spoke. “This is Myka….There’s something I’ve been really meaning to tell you.” “That you’re gay…” he said his voice low as he stared at Katy with hurt eyes. Katy bit her lip as she nodded her head but before she could say anything he left the room. Chasing after him she corned him off by the elevator. “Look Kyle I didn’t mean for you to find out like that. I wanted to tell you but I wasn’t sure that I was,” she spoke touching his arm softly. “This is who I am and being with Myka makes me feel like I’ve never had before.” Kyle stared at his sister, shook still showing clearly in his eyes. “You know what…just do what you want to do. I just can’t deal with this now.” “But Kyle…” she called as he went into the elevator saying those word but it closed in her face before she could even get in.
Rubbing her temples tiredly, Katy headed back toward the room. She didn’t want to go chasing after her brother. He needed to cool down steam before she could even talk about this with him. Opening the door and locking it behind her she picked up all the stuff and headed into the main room. “I got us some coffee and donuts,” she said shortly handing the older girl the cup of coffee and setting the white bag down on the bed. Putting on a happy smile for her friend she handed the gift to her. “Merry Christmas my love!”

When Myka woke up, she was almost positive she was in a dream. Then she remembered the events from the previous night and smiled. It was a smile of sadness but of happiness as well. She was sad, because she had told Katy her true feelings and the girl had been too asleep to hear her, but she was happy because it was Christmas and she was spending it with the one she loved. Myka rolled over and her eyes focused in on the clock. It said 7:30 and there was a note beside it. Lazily, Myka reached over and pulled the note to her. After she read it, she nodded and snuggled into the covers for a little while longer. After about ten minutes, she decided she should get up. She left the bed and grabbed a pair of jeans and a green shirt that reached to her mid thighs. Piling into the bathroom, Myka hopped into the shower. When she came out, she pulled on her clothes and then looked into the mirror. All she had was a brush. Sighing, Myka pulled the brush through her hair, so it was down for once. She opened the door and exited the bathroom.
She stopped at the sight before her, there was Katy with some boy. Myka raised an eyebrow, but then completely regained her composure. She kissed Katy on the cheek, “Morning,” she looked at the boy and nodded a hello before sitting on the bed and slipping on some socks and a pair of shoes. Myka didn’t watch as the scene unraveled in the room, but she was painfully aware of Katy’s brother’s disbelief and pain. She closed her eyes as they both left the room. Hopefully things would be okay between them. Myka peered at the bags Katy had brought in, but she didn’t look through them. She had turned the television on when Katy re-entered. Myka looked up as Katy said she got donuts and coffee for them. Then she presented Myka with a gift. Myka took a sip of her coffee and raised her eyebrow at the gift. “I hadn’t gotten you anything, Katy.” But nonetheless, Myka took the bag and pulled out its contents. There was an adorable plaid skirt, a black sweater, and a pair of boots. There was always a pair of cute little slippers. Myka nearly jumped when they made sounds.
She smiled and set it all aside before hugging Katy and kissing her cheek, “They’re amazing, thank you.” Myka pulled away and looked at her presents. She hadn’t gotten Katy anything. But maybe… “Well, uh, I didn’t get you anything. So I feel kind of bad, but uh… maybe there’s something I can give you that’s better…” Myka stood from the bed and started to pace back and forth. Last night had been easier. She bit her lip and then decided to just say it, “All right. Uh. OK. I’m just gonna….” Myka stopped pacing, “I love you. I mean, I love you. Like, really, one hundred percent forever love you.”

Katy sat down at the end of the bed smiling as Myka began to open the box. Her mind was still on what happened with Kyle. He wasn’t supposed to know that she was gay like that. Katy wanted to tell her own brother in person, not him just putting the puzzles together. Well it was going to happen sometime, and if he couldn’t live with that fact then that was his problem. Though, Katy did feel terribly bad that she didn’t follow Kyle, trying to explain everything to him. She always felt bad when getting in fights with anyone and it was left unsettled. It made Katy feel guilty and unsure of what was going to happen. Kyle needed time alone to think this over. He would probably end up at his girlfriend’s house forgetting about the whole gay sister incident. That was highly unluckily. A wide smile curled on her lips as happiness surged through her face. Myka really did like the gift and even the slippers that made noises. Hugging her friend, Katy continued to smile at her. All thoughts about Kyle were set aside in the back of her mind. That was exactly what Myka did to Katy. She made Katy set everything aside only to concentrate on the two. Honestly, Katy didn’t mind much trying not to remember the hospital visit and the whole incident with her brother.
Grabbing a pillow from the end of the bed she held onto it tightly, her blue eyes watching as Myka stood up from the bed. Her friend began to pace back and forth trying to tell her something. Katy didn’t care about a present. This whole hotel trip was more than enough. Playing with the zipper on the pillow case she stopped suddenly. Did Myka just say she loved her? Looking back at her friend she stared into the girl’s eyes looking for some kind of truth. A huge smile appeared on Katy’s lips as she threw the pillow aside, happiness surging throughout her whole body. Tackling the older girl onto the other side she grinned down at her leaning in closer so their lips met for a few second. Pulling away, Katy grabbed the girl’s hands sliding down onto the floor. She sat down on the floor while Myka sat on the edge of the bed their hands still laced together. “Do you really mean that? Did you really say that you loved me? If not than I have no other explanation to explain why I nearly almost knocked the wind out of you.”
She continued to grin up at Myka, wiggling her fingers as she squeezed Myka’s. “Because….I love you too."

At first there was a silence and she could feel Katy eyeing her. She held Katy’s gaze and then nearly fell over when Katy tackled her. Myka breathed in deeply before wrapping her arms around Katy’s waist. They were lying on the bed now, Katy on top and Myka beneath. When they kissed, Myka felt something spark and then it was as if fireworks went off. How cliché was that? She smiled when Katy pulled away and slid to the floor. Myka got comfortable on the edge of the bed, her thumb running over Katy’s. “Do you really mean that? Did you really say that you loved me? If not than I have no other explanation to explain why I nearly almost knocked the wind out of you.” She asked. Myka tilted her head and squeezed Katy’s hand reassuringly. “Yeah, I really mean it. Well, it sounded ten times better last night. I had this whole… not so long speech and it sounded better and I didn’t stammer. You would have loved it… because it wasn’t long and I was speaking with beautiful words.” Myka smiled and bent over, kissing the top of Katy’s head.
There was a quick silence and then Katy said she loved Myka back. Myka smiled a small smile. There wasn’t a need for a huge smile. Myka’s smiles had different degrees of brightness. And it wasn’t with her teeth either. Her eyes sparkled. With this particular smile her eyes seemed to be two icy blue fires. Myka brought Katy’s hand to her lips and placed a small but sweet kiss on the back of her hand. “So…” she slurred as her thumb continued to caress Katy’s hand, “I take it your brother didn’t like the news of you like ‘big busty women?’” Myka grinned slightly.

Katy looked up at Myka, her blue eyes shinning with hope. She knew Myka had told her that she loved her, but maybe Katy heard wrong. The older girl could be saying something completely different with the word love in the sentence. Grinning as Myka squeezed her hand reassuring her. Myka really did love Katy and she loved her...question was...where were they going to go from there? Though, she really did wish she heard what Myka said the night before. Katy wanted to know exactly everything the older girl loved about her. She knew that Myka loved her hair and thought that her ears were perfect, but there had to be more to love than that. "You don't know how happy I am to hear you say that," she said closing her eyes as Myka dropped a kiss on her forehead to only reopen them to stare up into the icy, sparkling blue eyes of Myka. Katy just loved how the girl's eyes always made her lost.
Smiling as Myka kissed the back of her hand, Katy sighed as she asked about her brother. Moving their laced hands together back and forth she watched as their arms smack together than grow apart. "He just needs time to let the shock sink in. At least he didn't catch us doing anything worse. I think he wouldn't look at me without thinking of that moment," she said stopping from swinging their hands to stare up at the girl. "He will come around, I know it," she said with a confident smile while trying to imagine Myka looking like her mother. Tilting her headed to the right slightly she tried to picture it. It wasn't exactly the best mental image but it made her laugh. "You do kind of look like your mother you know....Just wear a tight dress and dye your hair blond and you can be twins!"
Swinging their arms back and forth again she didn’t look away from Myka's eyes. "I read that there’s a hotel party in the lobby. Free food for guest which means free dinner..." she began with a glow in her eyes. "If it isn't fun, then we can just take the food and have a party of our own."
