Dixie hid her smile behind her drink as Adam cut Rae off. She sent a thankful glance in his direction. She had a hunch at what Rae was going to go off on and it wasn’t something she wanted to be told by a drunk. “Agreed.” Dixie replied to Adam’s suggestion that they get going. It meant getting away from Rae sooner, and although that meant ending the evening sooner, Dixie wanted to get as far away from Rae as she could as fast as she could. Her eyes flew to Rae when Adam demanded the keys, she knew that wouldn’t fly over with Rae well. Rae just sat there and Dixie narrowed her gaze on the girl she had been close friends with so long ago. How could she have been friends with Rae? How could she have been that way? Dixie shook her head, getting rid of those memories, and watched as Rae miraculously handed Adam the keys. Rae then stood and stormed down the steps and out of the club. With a sigh, Dixie stood and turned to Adam, holding out her hand for him to take. “Let’s get Pretty Princess home before she breaks someone.” They left the club, Dixie looking over her shoulder to see the mural once more. There was something about it that sent a shiver up and down her spine.
The cold air whipped Dixie’s hair back and filled her eyes with tears. Rae was leaning against her car, her arms crossed. Dixie laughed lightly, “Think we can just leave her here? She’s going to be hell to get to her house.” They reached the car and Rae clambered in the back before Dixie got in. Soon they were heading back to the Gray’s. Dixie looked out the window, wondering what the hell she had been thinking when she thought it would be an alright night with Rae.

It didn’t take long for Rae to dive into the drinks, and it didn’t take long for her to feel the effects of the alcohol through her system. She watched as Adam and Dixie wasted no time in going off and doing their own thing. Alcohol was her only company for awhile. Within a fair amount of time, Rae had consumed quite a bit of alcohol. It didn’t show, though. When the lovebirds finally decided to join her, it wasn’t like Rae had anticipated. Dixie was in a bad mood already, and Rae wondered what had changed her so much. Certainly not her insanity. Adam didn’t seem to be too happy with the present company either. Rae was about to snap his head off for interrupting her when he demanded for the keys. Her green eyes locked with his as she thought about it. He had a point, she was very drunk. With a reluctant sigh, Rae took the keys from her jacket pocket and gave them to him. A quick glare in Dixie’s direction, and Rae left the club.
She tried the doors and found them locked. She had started to curse whoever had locked the doors when she remembered it had been her. Rae dejectedly leaned against the car, her arms crossed, as she waited for Dixie and Adam to appear. When they did she had to wait for the car to get unlocked, and when that happened, she nearly lunged into the back seat. She might have been acting like a petulant child, but she was drunk, what could she do? The car started and they were driving back toward her house. It was too quiet. Without saying anything, Rae leaned over to the front, dangerously, and started to fix the dial. “What are you doing?!” Dixie hissed as Rae had yet to reach the dial for the stereo. Just a bit further. She ignored Dixie and perched her hand on the edge of her seat to lean in further. Bad choice. Her hand slipped and she ended up collapsing so her top half of her body was upfront and the bottom half of her body was still in the backseat. She didn’t realize she had knocked Adam’s arm and caused a chain of events to occur.

Adam was quite surprised when Rae handed over the keys. She didn't seem happy, but at least had enough common sense to see that she wasn't in a proper state to be driving. Adam was just slightly buzzed himself, but he knew he was in much better condition than Rae. Plus, he had had some experience driving one year when he was at an uncle's house who owned a vehicle. It came naturally to him, despite never having a driving lesson in his life. Tonight, he was sure that he could get the home safe.
He had to crack a smile when he and Dixie made their way from the club, the music dying in the background. Rae stood in the cold, looking miserable as she waited for him to unlock the doors. He purposefully waited until he was there to unlock them manually, despite seeing that the key chain had a button that would unlock them from a distance automatically. In minutes, they were loaded and on their way back to the Gray's.
The trip was quiet. Adam didn't want to say anything to Dixie since Rae was there. Everything he had to talk about would be said in private. He figured Dixie was quiet for the same reason. Plus, with the two of them quiet, it kept Rae quiet- at least for a few minutes. However, the quietness mustn't have sat well with Rae, as Adam found her jutting into the front seat, attempting to adjust the radio. She must have been so drunk, as it took her a moment to even see what she was doing. Adam felt her weight against his arm, and he swerved slightly to the side of the road. "Watch it!" he snapped, gaining control of the car. It was useless though. Before he could stop her, his slight swerving had caused a drunken Rae to lose her balance and fall forward into the front seat. His eyes wide, Adam felt as her body knocked his arm from the steering wheel. He did what he could to stay on the road, but with the commotion she had caused, he lost control and the car careened off the side of the road, bumping up and down across the rocky ground. The last thing he remembered was flashing his eyes over to Dixie to see if she was OK. Then, everything went black...

It all happened so fast. Rae being stupid and leaning forward to turn the radio on. Adam swerving and then snapping at her. Rae then falling forward. And then the car swerving off the road. Dixie gripped the handle that was above her head, her knuckles growing white. Everything flashed before her eyes, the last image being that of the horned demon on the mural. Dixie’s head knocked against her window and she felt blood trickle down from her forehead. Then all was still. She could hear Rae groaning in the back, but she was too afraid to open her eyes. After a few deep breaths, Dixie opened her eyes and looked to her right. Adam’s side had gotten most of the impact and he wasn’t conscious. A gasp escaped her lips as she reached to unbuckle her seat belt, cutting her finger on some shattered glass. Rae continued to groan in the back, but Dixie ignored it. Her attention was on Adam. Dixie tried to reach over to him but there was a pain in her arm. She screamed out and slammed her head against the head rest so she wouldn’t focus on the pain. Rae continued to whimper in the back and finally Dixie snapped, “Shut up! Just shut up! I need to think and I can’t think with you whining like a crybaby!” Rae shut up quickly and Dixie closed her eyes, trying to think of a way out of this. Her wand? No, she couldn’t reach it.
She didn’t know how long she had been thinking, but she knew it was wasting precious time. Adam could be seriously hurt. There was silence, but apparently that was just in Dixie. She was retreating back into Kurr and it was Rae’s frightened voice pulled her back to Earth. “Dixie?” “What?!” Rae growled, “I know you hate me! But there’s a police car out there, I thought I would let you know.” Dixie turned and looked out as much of the window as she could past Adam. There were lights and voices. Dixie sighed, relieved, but knowing that there was still the problem of getting them out. It took nearly an hour, but all three of them were extracted from the car. Rae was the best out of them, and Dixie had dislocated her shoulder, but Adam had gotten the worst. Dixie stood frozen as she watched them load Adam into the ambulance, as they closed the door she thought where the day had gone wrong.
